One of the most advanced games on a Game Boy (Color), and definitely among the most unique Harry Potter games ever. I love that fact that unlike the PS1 game, it's an RPG like Final Fantasy or Pokémon and it follows the movie/novel way more. I once had a copy, but was unfortunately stolen...
Yeah, the Harry Potter games on the GBC were so fun. I really like that they are RPG's as well. Sorry to hear yours was stolen. Thank you for watching and commenting! :D
Fun fact the gbc using a costume z80 cpu (LR35902) and z80 CPU was introduced in 1975 so some games after 2000 using tech from the 70s. If course this is needed to run gbc with 2 battery up to 10 hours.
I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid. I got it as a Christmas present 2001. I just loved the rpg aspect of this game. The grinding to level up was addictive just so Harry could defeat giant rats and knight’s armour, just like he did in the book! 😂 I can’t remember how it started, but for a few years it became a yearly tradition for me to start playing this game December and have the story beaten by Christmas Day. Usually I would defeat the final boss on Christmas Eve, while my younger brother and I were sharing my bedroom for the night(sort of a little ritual for special holidays).
Replaying this wonderful game for the first time in 14 years! It's feeling very fresh but incredibly nostalgic - can't believe I nearly sold it at one point!
One of my favorite Game Boy Color games as a child. Being about 10-11 I am lucky I was at the perfect age for the Game Boy era. I absolutely love those damn handhelds.
Wow! I loved this game when I was young, played it so often that the cartridge glitched out and the weirdest stuff happened to my game, even if I started new saves. But still, the magic inside this game was real to me!
I had these games in the early 2000s when I was a kid. I never finished it and eventually I had to give it away. But recently I Sorceror's Stone and as of today I can say I have finally finished it. Onto Chambers of Secrets!
i was 12 when this came out, played it so much on my GBC, man i hated that flit wick charms glass as a kid lol, still remember music from this game. i remember being able to farm silver unicorn horns and make bank too
Remember that scene from the movie or book where Harry went into the alleyway behind Olivander's Wand Shop to practice his magic on rats for half an hour to get stronger at magic? Neither do I. Just kidding around though. This is a great playthrough.
You really gotta grind for a while to have a chance in this game. Every time I played a new game you gotta be at least level 45+ to have a fighting chance against the final boss
There was a special card you got, and it gave you EVERY spell and could be used at the beginning of a new game, making you vastly overpowered. If I remember correctly, I beat this game so many times that I ran out of those cards, and I couldn't level up to replace even the simplest of spells for yet another playthrough.
Great video, Great game 😊 Like COS on GBC this followed the story of the movie and the book well, it was great 😊 I don't know how you're such an expert in getting everywhere so well, it made the game much quicker. If I were playing this game it would probably take me weeks to finish, and if I were playing it as a kid I probably wouldn't finish haha
It really stinks that the Harry Potter games went from clever interpretations such as this but when it came to the deathly hallows it turned into a third person shooter
In fact, very unique game of its time. It was in fact very surprising because it supported finnish language which is rare to see in games not including Minecraft, Noita and stuff.
Funny to hear someone else mention the item pricing. I remember when I played this in my youth and being like "yo wtf" when I saw the prices at the second diagon alley visit
Wow this takes me back, especially some of the sounds from earlier til wandering round hogwarts and doing classes… I never did too well with the game though 😂
There's actually comments on each vault door in Gringotts, not just on stuff in Hogwarts. That's attention to detail, even if it's just being cheeky with you for trying the wrong doors.
That's probably just your nostalgia talking because I didn't find it brilliant. It's not a bad game, but there is some unfair bullshit you gotta deal with. Some of the enemies are WAY too powerful and kill you very easily unless you grind like hell and buy a ton of potions. Other than that it's fine. It's also strangely addicting.
I remember I got this for Xmas one year and I got far and was strong but I couldn't get past Potions class because I couldn't find the snake venom ( iirc ) I knew it was on the snake poser but I couldn't get it, this was way before I could just hop online and look for help so I had to restart from scratch and found the snake where it should have been, I don't think I ever completed the game
This is my favorite GBC game. ❤ so many hours grinding this game and replaying. I know some people say they disliked the charms class minigame, I thought the potions puzzle was difficult if you didn’t guess lucky. 😂 Which in my opinion was even more frustrating because you had to go through the third floor corridors again! 😅
I was just wondering if I had dreamt this game up haha as I vaguely remembered it but I am glad it wasn't my brains playing tricks on me. Regardless, I don't think I got past the restricted section portion that one freaked me out!
