He's phenomenal: Personality, Beauty, Talent, and retired while in good health to spend more time as horse, with his friends and humans. Bless Carl Hester and Charlotte for giving him a wonderful retirement.
I just noticed all these replies about Secretariet. I'm amazed 👏 at least he's not forgotten, and he is still noticed as an amazing horse as Velegro is, too! They're Special in their own right!
Secretariat is king, always will be! Velegro is just a sweety, king of dressage, and is about the only dressage horse I do watch, because I know he is well taken care of to this day.
NO! All top Horses gets a farewell show for The Fans and Nice pension on the country side. We have 3 old dressage Horses here. German and Dutch Horses as well.
That's not true. In my hunter/jumper circle most all these horses are valued after their show careers as school masters. They teach the next batch of riders and are highly valued for what they do. In fact, it is very difficult for someone to buy them off the trainers because they are precious. And these school masters are well treated with easy schedules. It is much better for them than being turned out and forgotten. They like the routine in their lives.
He's a special man! He's at the top like Secretariat, he was a magnificent horse 🐎 too. He will always ❤️ ♥️ 💖 have a place in my heart and I imagine many people in the world 🌎 💙 ❤️
What a superstar and I so happy you gave him a great retirement. British dressage is leading the way. Appreciate seeing horses moving classically and correctly, not behind the bit and using their hind end. ❤❤❤
This horse reminds me so much of my own horse, the same round rib cage, love of food, interest in people, bright spark in very kind eyes. He knows he is loved, particularly by Alan who hasnt taken from him.
How many hands high is “Blueberry?” I’ve seen many videos of him in competition. But the first seeing him standing with people. I think he’s a lot taller than I thought.
@@tylorcooper3706 yes, we have one of their stores in my state but I usually order online! I wonder if they're in store so I could checkout but I know their return policy is great. thanks again.
A horse is not a person. Please learn to accept this. Its very important to realize the difference. Please allow this fellow to be what God created him to be. What a life he has and he is not complaining. Why then, are you?
Valegro is a beautiful horse and was a legend in the dressage field, but I don't think he or Charlotte will get the publicity or reputation they deserve, If I knew how to do it I would start a petition to get Charlotte and Valegro remembered forever, a statue of some sort. I still think Charlotte was hard done by when she didn't get the damehood the year Laura Kenny got it. After all other than Laura Charlotte was the most decorated British female Olympian. There will never be another Valegro or Charlotte Dujardin I used to think dressage was a sport for snobs, then came the London Olympics and Charlotte. It converted me on the spot. I have loved show jumping for years but never appreciated the skills needed by a dressage rider
He ain't a cow horse, he's not in Texas and he's being shown off. Any hunter in-hand or dressage in-hand is always shown in a bridle. Please notice the loose reins - the horse is basically guiding the handler.😊😊😊
What does it matter if he's retired? Wearing a bit means in work or doing a job so he knows its not time to play around and be disrespectful, its for control.
Yes he seem lame how sad 20 years of dressage is too much I don’t believe horses enjoy dressage looks like it’s painful having their heads pulled in seems cruel
Poor Valegro. 21 years old and obviously lame they think covering him with a blanket is going to hide that. I feel so sad for these horses, show, jumping, rodeos, etc. people get to show off and look cool at the expense of the animals.
@@juliedobson3039 I had horses for many many years. Can tell by his gate in his hind quarters when he walks, therefore the blanket. How many beautiful showhorses do you see in a ring with blankets on. Especially since he’s there for a special appearance. Also, did you see how high up his legs were wrapped? I would make a wager that he was on some pretty strong painkillers to get through that.
Oh stop it Valegro is not lame and yes before anyone calls me out I am very experienced with horses having owned my own and worked a life time with this magnificent horse is simply wrapped in cotton wool and very well cared for
@@sandy99922because he's 22... He's not going to move like he was when he was 10. Is it surprising to you that an older horse would have stiffness or more limited motion? Also did you not notice how warmly everyone is dressed and the hot air coming from his breathing? He doesn't look to be in winter coat which is probably why he's rugged.
He didn't start dressage at 1yr old! He goes out in the fields, has his mates, goes on hacks around the lanes etc, etc, he's never been tortured because these people know how to look after horses and animals.....

As a competitor and athlete, this gorgeous boy was to dressage what Secretariat was to horse racing.
First other horse I thought of too!
Winx
Black caviar
Maybe diva
Winx
37 of 43 starts
Black caviar
25 of 25 starts 45 mph
Maybe diva 3 melbourne cups
Secretariat 37 mph

Looking forward to seeing yours in the Olympics!
Loved this team
I cried on his last show before retirement
Simply Stunning Valegro 💕
This horse got me through open heart surgery, love him so much. Really enjoyed this update. Thank you x
The greatest horse in every way!!!
Amazing horse and rider
One of kind.....
Grand Prix was his love
Wow!! 😍🇺🇸🎼🐴🎉
You can tell this horse remembers Charlotte 😮😮
Why would he need to remember? He is still on the yard with charlotte and carl, he sees her every day.
Horses love children usually❤❤❤

Where can I find that bridle?! I have been looking for a snaffle bridle without the flash that is patent leather. Help!
They make them go to dover saddlery look up English bridles they have some normal ones for around $40

Valegro has a statue 😊
Somewhere in Newent according to google.
Imagine all the abuse he endured under a certain person, you can only imagine why he was the best he had no choice.
What is with the camera?
Complete novice here. What is Vallegro’s breed?
Valegro is a Dutch Warmblood.
Hmmmm probably been whipped to inch of his life to make him the most successful horse. Poor poor animal x
He doesn't look 21
Thank God he's not being trained by her anymore
I agree! While he was walking around the arena, you could see Charlottes face. Guilty of abuse

His neck still seems bent!
Give him free land and meadows 😖
It is sad that he was a gelding, Today we would see his descendants

Why, as a retired horse, does he have to be wearing a bit?

See how smart people are, there is more of God in that horse, than the wicked pope...lol
I hope she’s never allowed anywhere near him. Evil.
Charlotte...when was the time you became the abuser? With your pupils or with Valegro?😪😪😪
I give him one year to stud and within three will be on someone's plate.
I hope this channel does a follow up.
Difficult to put a gelding out to stud…
His father is still living a stud a 26 years black stud negro van olst .Other charlotte fry britsh rides manny brothers off valegro .
