Hypercars are useless and totally overated. The only hypercar I would buy if I would have the money is the T50 from Gordon Murray as it is light and only has driving as Focus. I was living in Ireland for more than a decade and I learned that driving a small and cheapish hillclimb monster or even do a road race on 2 wheels (if you crazy/brave enough) will give you more of a kick than any off this silly hypercars.

That first left at about 1:29 you can tell he is hitting the brakes just a bit, and then at the right curve he has let off the brakes and is beginning to hit the throttle slowly. So by the time he gets to the left hander you are talking about at 1:34, he is already starting to accelerate. As he exits that turn, he hits the throttle harder. So yes, it's all about knowing the track and despite not being able to see the apex of the second left, he already knows he can accelerate to it and not have to brake as he did for the first left hander. That's what good racers do - learn the track.

I guess I'm missing something. I drive like this everyday on the backroads of the Great Smokies and Blue Ridge and have been doing it for almost 40 years, but I stay in my lane. I could easily do this with the right car. I'm not taking anything away from the driver, but there are literally hundreds of people that live in the mountains where I'm from that could do this and at those speeds.
We study it but sometimes we get to know it when we drive it and that is the biggest challenge when you want to push the car but you don't know the limits of the road

Good driving : you don't get much time to think. At least on a track you can line yourself up for a bend : that course, at that speed, seemed a bit frantic.
Hill climb is different then circuit racing, you might find the inside of the corner abit bumpy or can understeer the car for the corner after that. But could have been abit better also, not saying it was perfect 🙂

Do you all run on special soft compounds that warm up quickly? Or are your tires stone cold and barely gaining heat near the end of the run?
We run ultrasofts by Pirelli for hillclimb use and they come to a point to almost over heat by the end of the run :)
