Just wanted to say I love your channel. I'm an M2 and really am interested in pathology. This gives me an insight I really can't get elsewhere, especially since there's not much about the field of pathology on RUclips thats recent.
So thank you and please keep making videos.
If you could make videos breaking down an interesting slide or something along those lines, that would be an amazing series. Just an idea hah
I hope my channel will convince you to do pathology! I'm currently in a transition period, but educational slide histology is in the planning.
M2 here too, seconded!
Yaay I was waiting for this 👌
thank u
Please please do vid od what u didnt know ab it etc what u like and dont
Thanks a lot!@
You are welcome!
I’ve seen a lot of comments in online forums saying that the job market for pathology is terrible, specially for an IMG. How truth is that?
Btw, nice videos! Keep it up
The impression my attendings has given me is that there are plenty of jobs. All of the fellows from my program in the recent 4 years have all found jobs, US grads and IMGs. Some may had to search for longer than others.
Hi, thank you for your channel, they're all very helpful. I'm a MS3 with a strong interest in pathology. I was wondering if you could speak on how competitive/hard getting a pathology fellowship is?
Hi Charles, it really depends on what fellowship you are interested in. Usually the most competitive fellowships are Derm, GI and Heme path. In my experience, most people who want to do fellowship gets to do one.
@@Baking_MD thank you Dr. Wang!
I love pathology a lot but I wanna know its cons also. Please make a video on cons of pathology during and after residency 🙏
Working on that :)
Just like the boost your pathology application for ERAS, would you create a boost your pathology application for fellowships? Would you go into more depth besides generally speaking the following: research, LOR's, ECs, or networking.
That's a great idea for a video!
How much research would you say is competitive for something like GI path
Really depends on where you are applying. Some academic positions likes few papers and abstracts, others that focus on clinical training require much less
@@Baking_MD Would you say that the few publications/abstracts need to be basic science? I know pathology faculty research tends to involve basic science. If not, is it normal to work with the faculty that are not pathologists (like gastroenterologists)? (since clinical research tends to be higher output)
In puerto rico they have a pathology residency . And Also forensic fellowship.
The truth is, puerto rico is in neeeeeeeed extreme emergency need of forensic pathologist. There are wagongs of corpes waiting for months, sometimes years... The facilites are prestine and the equipment... But theres just no Forens path.
I'm from puerto rico.. i wanna do everything here... But i wanna save lives, not determine causes of death.
That is a great goal! Once you train here, you can take all that knowledge and skill back home.
Hi is it from RCPA?
Sorry, I don't know what RCPA is.
