I LOVE the fact that Rexy is just like “I really don’t wanna be here” instead of a blood thirsty monster. Humans are just an annoyance to a dinosaur loved it! 🦖
As much as I'm eager to see Dominion, all watching prologue does is intensify my desire more to see a reboot of Walking with Dinosaurs or something similar.
The opening sequence is just amazing. No music in the background, just dinosaurs living. Reminds me of The Land Before Time. Narrator of The Land Before Time: Millions and millions of year's ago, this planet was ruled by the mightiest of all...the Dinosaurs. Hopefully the first official trailer doesn't spoil too much like Fallen Kingdom did.
Even if they had the dialog appear in text form it would still count as a reference or to be fair they Mike still have the audio recording of that narration somewhere in their vaults and they could have put it in that are someone else could do it on RUclips and make it a fan thing but that's just me
@@weediestbroom Up to the "65 million years later" caption, I thought it was all in the present time: Dinosaurs had reproduced themselves to big herds, other genetics companies had captured dinosaur blood and made their own versions which were now also loose (like a T. rex with some feathers) and even when the mosquito flew away I thought, "that's how another civilization millions of years in the future could get dino DNA and the cycle would start all over again." I felt so stupid afterwards :D
The Giganotosaurus looks ridiculous and the T. rex simply existing to get its ass kicked yet again, just to establish that another dinosaur is badass, is piss poor writing. In fact, I'd like to know why they hate the T. rex so much.
I agree. I'm assuming this is to set up a plotpoint where modern Rex and a modern Godzill- Giga fight again and somehow recognise eachother as adversaries from 65 million years ago (letting aside that they lived 30 million years and an entire continent apart) through genetic memory or something. It's a great red flag for the rest of the film.
Would’ve been a good opportunity to see T. rex fight triceratops tbh. That’s an iconic fight between the two most iconic dinosaurs of all time, so honestly, big missed opportunity…
I think some of the species could change into species that lived in the same or roughly the same time period and place with T.rex. Dreadnoughtus→Alamosaurus Oviraptor→Anzu Nasutoceratops→Triceratops Moros→Pectinodon Iguanodon→Edmontosaurus With Giganotosaurus being an exception as it seems to have important role in the plot. I am sick of T.rex losing as well......
@@ExtremeMadnessX Well, since the Giganotosaurus seem to have a prominent role in the film, I am not sure if it should be replaced as well. If Giganotosaurus were to be kept in the sequence. I would personally have such stuff being elaborated in Modern times. I want “Giganotosaurus living with T.rex” to be a great discovery that changed the understandings of the species in JW verse. If not, than I would replace the sequence with “T.rex vs Triceratops” with T.rex successfully killed the ceratopsian. The T.rex brought some of the food back to her lair. As the youngsters feasted upon the Trike flesh, the adult T.rex lay down to take a rest. A mosquito than sucked the blood of the resting dinosaur.
@@user-tb1fu6qo4j I was thinking of something similar. Maybe in-universe there was a huge discovery made by Dr. Alan Grant that during the Late Cretaceous period around 68-65 million years ago, there was an island formed where the ecosystems of Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus mixed. The Northern part of the island became a part of North America and the Southern part became a part of, well, South America. This new discovery could've inspired BioSyn to start cloning their Giganotosaurus to rival InGen's Tyrannosaurus. Accidentally creating the genetically engineered descendant of the Giganotosaurus from the prologue. Perhaps Grant could've dug up the very same T.rex who died during the fight against the Giganotosaurus and he could have a shocking realization that the T.rex he dug up is the Prehistoric Ancestor of the T.rex of Jurassic Park by comparing their skulls. As for the mixed ecosystem: - Iguanodon is replaced by Macrgyphrosaurus or Edmontosaurus - Dreadnoughtus is replaced by Andesaurus and Alamosaurus - Nasutoceratops is replaced by Triceratops and Leptoceratops - Moros is replaced by Buitreraptor or Alnashetri - Oviraptor is replaced by Anzu and the Anzu would protect it's nest from Acheroraptors or Dakotaraptors (perhaps the Dakotaraptors could be revealed as the true prehistoric ancestors of the JP "Velociraptors") - Pteranodon is replaced by Argentinadraco While I absolutely love the Giganotosaurus design, however for the Cretaceous sequence I would've made it look way closer to the real animal and use the final Giganotosaurus design for the clone to show that even though BioSyn would claim to clone scientifically accurate dinosaurs, they're actually hypocritical liars, worse than InGen.
We DO actually see what happens to the Rex (one of those, blink and you miss it type of things). Right as the Giga drags the Rex around the curb, holding the Rex’s neck at a tilted angle, and as it bites down the neck again that’s when it snaps. You actually see the Rex go limp right as the camera pans down.
I think when the T.rex slipped into the ditch, the jaws of the Giga were still on its neck, which leads me to believe that the impact broke its neck, kind of like being hung with a noose
@@disclaimer.imjokin A little late of a response, but yes, true (about the bite force). However, we see that the Giga had a good hold on the Rex’s neck (teeth structure probably helped) and caused the Rex to lose balance w/ the Giga using momentum to force the Rex to follow w/ it’s shifted weight and get dragged, like running down a steep hill too fast and your upper body is faster than the speed of your feet. Anyways, like I said, we see the Giga not only bite down as it drags the Rex, it thrashes it’s head downward. Twisting the Rex’s neck which was already at a tilted angle because of how the Giga grabbed it. Something we’ve seen a dinosaur do before; the JP III raptor w/ Udesky. That’s my analysis of the fight scene anyway.
Oh my gosh I have the same energy for that rex/giga fight. I’ve seen a lot of nature documentaries growing up so to me that fight was good and realistic but no large animal dies THAT FAST! Large animal fights in nature docs usually end where the loser has his ego bruised, has scratches and sometimes has deep cuts but RARELY there’s a death after a fight and that’s usually a while after the fight when he bleeds out or too injured to live.
Anything dies fast if u break its neck this is obvious, which is why in JP3 the T.Rex Died in a matter of Seconds, needed to happen, Tyrannosaurus fans need to have the horizons broadened
I like how they did this. Rexie was running from a chopper that was gunning for her. For all she knew, that was a potential predator. She wouldn't have been mindlessly killing people/hunting while running away. Though admittedly I guess the bull rex from JP 2 made sense because he didn't know what a predator was being the king of his territory.
I and a few others thought this to Rexy isn't mindlessly killing I don't think there was a single scene where she ate or stomped on anyone the people in the prologue likely got hurt from sheer panicking like the guy who got run over but Rexy is simply reacting to a new environment like many other animals she is confused and even though she is the "king of the cretaceous" she is scared and simply acts out in a aggressive manner
@Green Carnotaurus that be the complete cut, generally a film is roughly 5 hours, but is cut to he standard cinema length of 2 hours (for a major blockbuster) where general films 90 minutes. 2 and a half hours for Dominion is likely.
"I actually enjoyed this sequence a lot, because it looks and feels like two wild animals going at it, and the environment adds to the ambiance of everything too." This has been 'Klayton out of context', thanks for joining us and don't forget to like, share and subscribe for more scintillating and saucy bits from our favourite disembodied voice. 👍
The opening felt like a mix of The Land Before Time's opening and the opening of Disney's Dinosaur movie (the one with the Carnotaurus in it). I can't wait to see Rexy fight the Giganotosaurus in the final battle of the movie.
I can't praise John Schwartzman's cinematography on Jurassic World enough. He truly is one of the best cinematographers in the business and Jurassic World was the first movie I saw in a movie theater in which he served as cinematographer and I was highly impressed by his work on that movie, along with Michael Giacchino's score and his use of John Williams's iconic theme, Trevorrow's direction and the visual effects. I think Schwartzman's work, based on the visual look of the prologue, will be equally as impressive in the final version of the film. I will go on to say that as much as I love Giacchino's work on the music of the Jurassic World movies, I think it would've been awesome if Trevorrow had brought Williams back to score this installment. Nevertheless, I have complete confidence in Giacchino's ability to create an iconic score.
I loved the prologue. Still not a fan of the godzilla-esque design for the giga but I still liked it. Of all the dinosaurs we saw, I think the Oviraptor and Quetzelcoatlus are my favorites. Can't wait for more
@@thchtdthchtfthfhtfthcthfjt1274 except that when they first showed this during fast and furious in imax, they literally said it was the first 5 minutes of the movie (minus the action sequence addition at the end)
@@thchtdthchtfthfhtfthcthfjt1274 I hope it's not cut from the film cuz this prologue is important cuz it establishes the rivalry between Rexy and the Giga. If they cut it, it'll be a disappointment and a cop-out.
I love the inclusion of the U.S. depertment of fish and wildlife because along with Jurassic, I love to be outside and I care about national parks and such, so its like two of my favorite things coming together
the fight is not Jurassic Park III all over again,it's a clear set-up for the movie, the original Cretaceous Rexy loses against the Giganotosaurus, but the present-day Rexy will win, unlike her past counterpart that looked like a juvenile and less experienced specimen, she's older, she's bigger and she's got way more experience on her back,if this was the only fight between the two,do you really think it would've been this short? You said it yourself, the Rexy vs I-rex fight was great and epic, and Colin directed it,and he directed this movie as well, now,I don't know if he has been capable to create something as good as that or even better, but the REAL fight between Giga and Rexy will be at least up to the one in JW. 7:17 let's clarify, the theatrical preview version of this prologue stopped at the Rexy's print frame, the extra footage we see here is very short And yes,Colin confirmed this is not part of the movie, but a promo short: "Initially we had considered that this would be part of the film," he says of the five-minute prologue, which now stands alone as a short film rather than being part of the final cut of Jurassic World Dominion. It’s a novel way to get these scenes out into the world, rather than leave them on the cutting room floor"-IGN
it has been a speculation since the description of the footage that was shown in IMAX theaters before FF9,but you can see by yourself, the set-up is clear, aside being Rexy origin's story. And I can give you two proves: first of all,Colin confirmed the Giga to be a big part of Dominion. Second of all,the Giga in the Cretaceous isn't nearly as accurate as other new entries were, like the Oviraptor, rather,it's very exaggerated and monstrous, and this tells me that they want to make it recognizable for the public when they'll see the cloned version in the actual movie
I’m not surprised of some of the inaccuracies, which is a tad disappointing, but it’s only a 3 minute scene so I’m not really mad. I’m just glad that we got Oviraptor, and the second half was excellent with the Rex in the theater.
I thought his proluge was pretty good J hope we do get a longer fight with the giganotossurs and Tyrannosaurus Rex in the movie with the Tyrannosaurus winning I want to see The Tyrannosaurus win a fight
what I find interesting is that when the t-rex enters the drive in, it's not trying to intentionally eat anyone. Yeah, it's snapping at people and knocking cars out of the way, but it's more of a 'get out of my way' kind of deal. it's very much like an animal whose been backed into a corner and is stressed out. it's kinda nice to see the dino's as animals and less like mindless monsters.
Also the Giganotosaurus' behavior When it wakes up, it ignores the Iguanodon, being more focused on the larger threat, the territorial Tyrannosaurus. After winning, it doesn’t give out some victory pose and roar. Nope. It just walks away, clearly not wanting to attract any predators to the recently killed Tyrannosaur. Also it didn't mindlessly try to kill the Moros, but instead it let the smaller theropod to clean it's teeth.
I don't think the prologue will be in the final cut either. Colin Trevorrow just stated so in a recent IGN interview. Either way, I still wish that the scene would stay. It's awesome, and I agree with you, Klayton, it helps to tie the narrative together (i. e. having Rexy fight the Giga and winning, unlike in the prologue).
6:18 "T-Rex needs to die every five seconds, Universal?" I'd have to agree on that, since watching that fight reminded me of the Spino VS T-Rex fight in JP3, as it was rather short, and the T-Rex should've lasted a lot longer. Even with that, though, this was still an enjoyable sequence to watch, it's got me once again very hyped for the film, and I look forward to whatever promotion we see next.
After Jurassic World: Dominion, and especially this footage, I could see Colin Trevorrow producing a modern Walking with Dinosaurs show with the BBC with state of the art visual effects set against a primordial background.
I mean, at a certain point if it gets too far from reality it's no longer dinosaurs, then it becomes kaiju. Which though still cool, aren't dinosaurs. A percentage of reality is required for the dinosaur to be recognizably a dinosaur.
We know more about dinosaurs today than we did 1991 when the first JP released. So back then they had to take the knowledge that was avalible for the looks and sound but also make it fit the creative vision of storytelling. Now in 2021 we know most dinos had feathers, I mean if you make a movie about animals that walked the earth 65 million years ago which we are still learning about it is bound to happen that facts will change in a 20 year period. I try not to compare Jurassic Park with real science too that degree because I want storytelling/creativity and the real world to be kept apart. Yeah sure it's always good to keep it as close too facts as possible but what can you do. If science suddenly said that the T-rex actually sounded like a horse and Colin decided to dwell into that realism with Dominion...that would ruin a beloved franchise for me just because it's science.
I really loved this Prologue and how beautiful it is^^, Specially Rexy like always :) it did feel like a Documentary of the good ol' walking with dinosaurs. wish they showed this online months back oh well, i also wish they make more shorts too ^^. Really can't wait for Dominion.
I really enjoy this prologue/introduction of Jurassic World Dominion because I loved that Cretaceous scene a lot with some and not so accurate dinosaurs (like the t-rex having a bit of fluff and wrong time period for a few dinosaurs), but I loved that introduction of the Giganotosaurus and T-Rex vs Giganotosaurus. In that Cretaceous scene, I really like they treat the dinosaurs as animals and having animalistic behavior and I really like the cinematography in the Cretaceous prologue because it felt like a nature documentary like walking with dinosaurs.
I still dont understand this need of having another big carnosaur killing the rex, the trex was literally the latest iteration of the large theropods dinosaurs, the most evolved before dinosaurs went caput, none of the other large theropods would stand a chance in a direct confrontation 1 vs 1. At this point if the alternative is this, just remove the rex and/or other large theropods from the spotlight entirely and give it to the medium ones. The allo in the battle of big rock was great for example, why not more of those?
@@GionnyTheGreat I dont mind at all, I think other dinos also deserves the spotlight. T-Rex was the strongest carnivore ever, but a fight with a giga is 50/50, the animal that gets the neck first wins,
I feel like the difference between the San Diego scene and this one in dominion, is that back then it was just a random trex, where at this point, it’s been a huge part of the story for the whole series. We’ve grown attached to the specific dinosaurs now, so we feel more pain for them being in an unfamiliar world just trying to survive. The trex, the mosasaur, Blue, the brachiosaurus. It’s harder now because it’s not about caring for the people, it’s about caring for the dinosaurs
I honestly really enjoyed the prologue. I only have a few nitpicks that aren't related to previously discussed things; the Oviraptor eating an egg, and I think the Tyrannosaurus and Giganatosaurus should have postured for a bit longer before attacking. Other than that, I think it was pretty solid and all my other issues are strictly scientific.
So, am I the only one who considers the Rex to be an important and familiar character? I didn't think the drive-in scene needed any of the human heroes from the past films. It wasn't about the humans. It was about the Rex, and she wasn't the monster in this scene. She was the scene's protagonist, fleeing from the helicopter, which is the scene's monster.
Been dinosaurs fan since my childhood. Watched plenty of different dinosaurs documentarys and movies ' One thing for sure, none of them beat the Jurassic park franchises when its came to looking like a real living creatures. Can't wait for Jurassic world dominion!
They Should do a series called "Jurassic Park B.M." (Before Man) Where its a series where it shows us more of the time when dinosaurs were alive, No Humans Just Dinosaurs maybe like a Documentary but lets be honest no one wants to watch a show with no talking
This might be my MCU instincts overtaking logic, but I wonder if the usage of the US Department of Fish and Wildlife is meant to be a callback to that San Diego scene from The Lost World when all the police show up to stop the T-Rex, and among the cop cars was a Pest/Animal Control truck that was the first vehicle to nope out of there when they find the Rex lol
The differences between the Giganotosaurus and Rex strike me as weird. It's like they designed the Rex with a more modern approach, but kept the Giga retro looking, especially with the lack of lips obscuring the teeth, and extra exaggerated spikes and scales. They look like dinosaurs from two different eras of paleoart interacting, and it results in them feeling like they don't belong in the same scene together. There was another weird clash of styles later on in the trailer, where after showing us the fluffy more modern Quetzalcoatlus we see some retro scaley/wrinkly pterosaurs later on. But other than those weird mix-ups where the style guide seems to break down, this was awesome.
I must say, while it was awesome to see dinosaurs in their original habitat since they were 65 million years ago, I was dismayed to see the pteranodons looking that ugly again. I mention that a lot, I’ll admit, but still, those things just look plain like flying death. Beyond that, everything else was a veritable treat for the eyes.
@@irkendragon retro I’d have loved. These look like those pteranodons from Jurassic World, with their ghastly shrink-wrapped faces, skeletal bodies and stunted crests.
I really, really like the Quetzalcoatlus and the Oviraptor! When the Quetza was landing, you could *feel* the weight and the amount of the air that moved under it's gigantic wings. And the Oviraptor moved exactly how I think they would move. You can tell they analized the movement of modern day birds for this animal! I had the exact same feeling a few months ago with the T.rex and Giga fight. That they tried to imply the T.rex lost because it slipped and fell. I mean, it lost anyways, but that would be an interesting detail, and kinda makes the whole "T.rex revenges it's ancestor" a bit more personal when it only lost because it was unlucky. But we'll never know. It's just as likely that the Giga was just the stronger opponent here. At least this time the T.rex didn't bite down on the Gigas neck. The most annoying part in JP3 was that the Spino survived the jaws of a T.rex on it's neck.
@@scythe2517 Sure, but that wasn't canon when the movie came out in 2001. And I'm not sure how well thick skin would help against a bite like this. But whatever, that was 20 years ago
The first few shots remind me of the prologue to 2001: a space odyssey. The feathers, the mosquito. The way the Rex is just wandering around in a drive in as opposed to ramming busses into video stores with crappy movie poster parody gags…. This is the closest the franchise got to feeling like a proper heir to the original in a long time…
Loved the opening sequence, even though the fight with the Rex was short seeing the mosquito sucking its blood then the transition to the theater was even cooler
Did you know that the wildlife sanctuary appeared in jurassic world evolution 2 , in campaign mode, that proves how well frontier took care of the jurassic Canon and how much they also care about what the fans wanted, which is not a park builder, but an actual story.
I'm mildly interested in the human characters of JP, but I wouldn't go to the theater for any or all of them. I'm here for Rexy. I think I can say she's my single favorite character in all of cinema. When I was a kid, I didn't have a teddy bear or a bunny rabbit. Well okay, I did, but Babybear and BooBoo Bunny were strictly secondary. My best friend in this entire world, for like 10 years, was a JP branded T-Rex. I went everywhere with Rexy. Rexy was everything to me. And even as an adult, I've always appreciated that the Nublar Rex specifically (also named Rexy) was never really a villain in the movies. She was curious about Jeeps (damaging them like a 7-ton puppy would), she defended her territory from time to time, but she also saves the day on multiple occasions. No mindlessly chasing humans for no reason, no rampaging through San Diego, no killing for sport, no sketchy raptor business. She's simply, a freaking Tyrannosaurus, doing Tyrannosaurus stuff. The greatest animal that ever walked the Earth, walking the Earth, casually demonstrating that were it not for literal cosmic forces, our lions tigers and bears would still be so many rats grubbing for bugs and seeds beneath her feet. Get in line, puny moderns. Kneel before your Queen.
OK so asside from all the ridiculous inaccuracies, the Rex vs. Giga fight sequence was amazing and very short, and probably what I enjoyed the most in this prolog. I even liked how they made it seem like the rex only lost because it was loosing its footing and couldn't gain any ground to charge, or get away... I just don't understand why they always kill off the rex, or why it loses a fight in something like less than two minutes. I think that a rematch in modern times, things will end quite differently the next time around.
@@disclaimer.imjokinya know, I really didn't like jp3, particularly because (if I'm being straight forward honest here) the spinosaurus killed off my favorite dinosaur of all time. This time around it's a little bit different. I don't have any hate for the giganotosaurus (for as much as I hate the spino), I don't really know what it's biteforce would have been like, but I do know structurally the jaw muscles are definitely not powerfull enough to crush bone (it didn't have the right teeth for the job)... cutting up some flesh is most likely what it could mostly do... maybe even sever it's jugular in the process, but never crush any bones. I get that they have to build up the hype for giganotosaurus, I guess they may have thought, well... what better way to do that than to kill off another tyrannosaurus rex, like it was nothing. Plus we all know rexy was resurrected throughout the de-extinction process, so I don't really feel too bad, especially knowing that rexy is going to kick some giga ass towards the end. Although, I should point this out here: in general as a rule of thumb, the animal with the strongest biteforce wins every single fight. This is coming from what I seen through real world experience. See, my dog that I had, his name was Oz (big black pit bull lab), we tried having him get along with my brother in law's German Shepard one day, it was a bigger dog named Max (a very loyal and dependably capable). We tried making these two breeds get along well, uh..... yeah, let me tell ya, that was a mistake. Max, the German Shepard was a bigger dog than mine was, but Oz... he just went full on after max, had him by the neck... and he was starting to draw blood on max. The German Shepard was trying to get away, otherwise I'm certain my pit bull lab would have killed him right there on the spot. So me and my brother in law had to step in to split up the fight. Both dogs were OK in the end, nobody got hurt too badly, but it's clear that my dog Oz had the upper hand on max, 'cause pit bull labs usually are renoun for having some of the stronger jaw muscles for greater bite force. That's what this fight sequence in the prolog really reminds me of. Rexy the T-Rex, smaller but has a world record bite force (being my dog as a modern equivalent stand in with a simular weaponry structural advantage) and the giga, the bigger dinosaur, as a stand in for Max the German Shepard, also the bigger dog. That's how I know how this prehistoric fight scene would have played out differently, if only steven speilberg and Colin trevorow weren't so busy with trying to build up hype for the giga and were flat out ignoring the amazing biting strength that tyrannosaurus's are renounly known for having, rexy... she would have had the giga by the neck, made him draw blood and probably crush it's windpipe, in the process of trying to snap it's neck. And to think, I got all of this from a close encounter with our two dogs having a territorial dispute
in the real world when animals fight each other it usually ends pretty quickly. fighting is incredibly exhausting so someone is either running away or dead in a few minutes
@@mattmccune3087 If that particular T-Rex didn't die then Rexy possibly couldn't of existed since its implied through the cut to modern day that she's that T-rex's descendent/ reincarnation.
I teared up when the original T-Rex died. I obviously knew it was going to happen to even create her, but it made me sad if and when our Jurassic Park/World rexy may get killed by the humans in Dominion!
The prologue was cool I like how they showed the dinosaurs behaving more like animals back in the world 65 million years ago rather than behaving like killing machines. It reminds of a National Geographic documentary that I’m about watch or a mockumentary show series on BBC like how they did it with walking with dinosaurs or walking with beasts. The fight with the Giga and the T-Rex was pretty short , but I like how they showed the mosquito sucking the blood out of the T-Rex after it lost the fight with the Giga to show how John Hammond got his hands off of that dinosaur’s DNA. The transitioning to the present day was amazing with the T-Rex getting tracked down by the helicopter in the woods on its way to the drive in movie theater.
I really like the monstrous look of the giga personally. It awakes this childlike idea that monsters are real. I agree with needing to know the characters in these attack scenes to bring you more into it. I was confused as to how that helicopter lost track of the Tyrannosaurus for a second. I agree it would be nice if it was more accurate, but it’s Hollywood at the end of the day. It’s supposed to be a spectacle. All aside I can not wait to see this movie in Imax. I’m so excited.
Great video and I knew this was coming. I saw the prologue on Jurassic World Dominion and it looks really breathtaking and it finally blew my mind and everything looks amazing in my opinion. This feels like the next Dinosaur 2000, the next Speckles Movie and possibly the next Walking with Dinosaurs Movie all over again but in Jurassic World Version with the breathtaking animation of the dinosaurs and the visuals look amazing. Can’t wait to see how great this movie really is and how amazing it could be in my opinion. Great video and great points you’ve made on this video and as always, Take It Easy And Life Finds A Way.
I saw it earlier, and really liked it. The first few minutes felt like i was watching Walking with Dinosaurs again, but without the commentary. Yes seeing a few animals that shouldn't have been there due to difference in eras was a little immersion breaking, but it was passible. I actually hope they do include this scene in the final movie, as a kind of "okay, here's the rest of it." kinda thing. I mean, how else could they start it? I guess it also depends on how Camp Cretaceous season 4 goes, and how that ties into Dominion.
So this was posted on the Jurassic Park wiki back on February 21, 2020. When young Maisie is abducted by dino-poachers, Owen and Claire set out to find and rescue her, with their journey taking them to a dinosaur habitat operated by a global corporation with a possibly sinister agenda... that's even now being investigated by Alan and Ellie. The dinosaur habitat operated by a global corporation, think back to the Camp Cretaceous Season 4 trailer, the kids were obviously in some kind of habitat and its obviously run by a global corporation, no small company could build that kind of habitat and its not InGen or Masrani. The question about it being Mantah Corp, who we've yet to see who they really are doesn't lead me to think that they're behind the habitat. That leaves BioSyn, its been a long time since we've really seen or heard anything about what BioSyn has been doing since the original movie.
Big props to Colin Trevorrow and the crew on creating a sequence with incredible cinematography. It all feels inherently Jurassic, the mosquito on the Rex implying what's to come in the future. "These creatures were here before us. And if we're not careful, they're gonna be here after" brilliant story telling. Hyped for Dominion. Who else is?
It didnt look like a giga. Missing the 4 goat like horns on back of it skull and doesnt have the shark like sharp head. It looks like carcharodontosaurus. Even the spine back from the game looks the same.
That Giganotosaurus is seriously scary as all hell looking. Like, imagine seeing that looking at you through your window at 2am when you got up to get some water? Shark+Dinosaur? The scariest predators to ever live? I highly agree. Jesus I hate and love that thing. Love how it’s substantially bigger than the T-Rex too
My absolute favorite scene in the franchise has to be Dr Ian Malcolm: God creates dinosaurs, God destroys dinosaurs, God creates man, man destroys God, man creates dinosaurs. Dr Ellie Sattler: Dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the earth. Also I'm almost hoping Rexy gets a rematch with the Gig............and wins
I LOVE the fact that Rexy is just like “I really don’t wanna be here” instead of a blood thirsty monster. Humans are just an annoyance to a dinosaur loved it! 🦖

@@23nine well considering its called a "prologue", yeah I can see why you would feel that.
But on the flip side, that'd be a cool movie 👍
Anything would have been better than pairing dinos who crossed both time and Land Mass
@@Captianmex1C0 honestly just that I mentioned alone is a missed opportunity
@@yuyaricachimuel555there's a rather well done scene in the game version.
I think some of the species could change into species that lived in the same or roughly the same time period and place with T.rex.
Dreadnoughtus→Alamosaurus
Oviraptor→Anzu
Nasutoceratops→Triceratops
Moros→Pectinodon
Iguanodon→Edmontosaurus
With Giganotosaurus being an exception as it seems to have important role in the plot.
I am sick of T.rex losing as well......
Giganotosaurus could be simply replaced with other T. Rex, especially because we know that they were aggressive against each others.
@@ExtremeMadnessX
Well, since the Giganotosaurus seem to have a prominent role in the film, I am not sure if it should be replaced as well.
@@user-tb1fu6qo4j
I was thinking of something similar.
As for the mixed ecosystem:
- Iguanodon is replaced by Macrgyphrosaurus or Edmontosaurus
- Dreadnoughtus is replaced by Andesaurus and Alamosaurus
- Nasutoceratops is replaced by Triceratops and Leptoceratops
- Moros is replaced by Buitreraptor or Alnashetri
- Oviraptor is replaced by Anzu and the Anzu would protect it's nest from Acheroraptors or Dakotaraptors (perhaps the Dakotaraptors could be revealed as the true prehistoric ancestors of the JP "Velociraptors")
- Pteranodon is replaced by Argentinadraco
While I absolutely love the Giganotosaurus design, however for the Cretaceous sequence I would've made it look way closer to the real animal and use the final Giganotosaurus design for the clone to show that even though BioSyn would claim to clone scientifically accurate dinosaurs, they're actually hypocritical liars, worse than InGen.
@@user-tb1fu6qo4j Or as It Pulls back a Trike Carcass to A Nest, It lays down for a rest. Dying as the Mate Leaves to hunt some more.

Ooh, I'll have to look for that next time. Thanks! 😍
I think when the T.rex slipped into the ditch, the jaws of the Giga were still on its neck, which leads me to believe that the impact broke its neck, kind of like being hung with a noose
You can hear the crack too, as the Giga moves it’s head
The fall broke its neck. That Dino didn't have the bite force to do that
@@disclaimer.imjokin A little late of a response, but yes, true (about the bite force).
The thing is, when the Tyrannosaur lost its footing, it was suspended by the jaws of the Giga. I think the gravity made its neck break
@@TheWererapter92 They are very fanatical about the rex that it’s almost scarier than the rex itself…

"The Adventure 65 Million Years In The Making Comes To An End."

It ties into JWE2
the fight is not Jurassic Park III all over again,it's a clear set-up for the movie, the original Cretaceous Rexy loses against the Giganotosaurus, but the present-day Rexy will win, unlike her past counterpart that looked like a juvenile and less experienced specimen, she's older, she's bigger and she's got way more experience on her back,if this was the only fight between the two,do you really think it would've been this short? You said it yourself, the Rexy vs I-rex fight was great and epic, and Colin directed it,and he directed this movie as well, now,I don't know if he has been capable to create something as good as that or even better, but the REAL fight between Giga and Rexy will be at least up to the one in JW.
7:17 let's clarify, the theatrical preview version of this prologue stopped at the Rexy's print frame, the extra footage we see here is very short
And yes,Colin confirmed this is not part of the movie, but a promo short:
"Initially we had considered that this would be part of the film," he says of the five-minute prologue, which now stands alone as a short film rather than being part of the final cut of Jurassic World Dominion. It’s a novel way to get these scenes out into the world, rather than leave them on the cutting room floor"-IGN
god damit u spoiled it for me lol id bet $100 ur right. that fight was just like the j3 version.
it has been a speculation since the description of the footage that was shown in IMAX theaters before FF9,but you can see by yourself, the set-up is clear, aside being Rexy origin's story.
And I can give you two proves:
first of all,Colin confirmed the Giga to be a big part of Dominion.

The opening of Fallen Kingdom was my favorite part of the film, and I love this prologue, let's hope the rest of the movie lives up to it.
what I find interesting is that when the t-rex enters the drive in, it's
not trying to intentionally eat anyone. Yeah, it's snapping at people
and knocking cars out of the way, but it's more of a 'get out of my way'
kind of deal. it's very much like an animal whose been backed into a
corner and is stressed out. it's kinda nice to see the dino's as animals
and less like mindless monsters.
Also the Giganotosaurus' behavior
When it wakes up, it ignores the Iguanodon, being more focused on the larger threat, the territorial Tyrannosaurus.
I love how the t. Rex and the allosaurus seemed to have fixed their wrists for the most part it's a nice touch
Might be added as an extra or special feature in a Blu-ray/4K combo released sometime after the movie opens in theatres
I love this potential set up for the Giganato and Rex's clone rematch
It's definitley gonna happen
I hope they get Kenneth Branagh back for it if they do. Although apparently one version had Avery Brooks so I’d be happy with either honestly.
I don't really care if it's close to reality or not, it's dinosaur's! How could you not love them?
Same.
I mean, at a certain point if it gets too far from reality it's no longer dinosaurs, then it becomes kaiju. Which though still cool, aren't dinosaurs. A percentage of reality is required for the dinosaur to be recognizably a dinosaur.
yaeh but dinosaur did not look like that lmao
I loved this prologue but I wish the had toned down the Giga's spikes. It looks more like an mutant Acro.
i agree. i thought it was an acro first haha
Looks good and I can't wait to Rexy get that rematch.
What is up with them killing the T Rex every chance they get! It’s my damn hero 😞
Rexy would’ve won, she only lost because she lost her footing and PLOT
I still dont understand this need of having another big carnosaur killing the rex, the trex was literally the latest iteration of the large theropods dinosaurs, the most evolved before dinosaurs went caput, none of the other large theropods would stand a chance in a direct confrontation 1 vs 1.
At this point if the alternative is this, just remove the rex and/or other large theropods from the spotlight entirely and give it to the medium ones. The allo in the battle of big rock was great for example, why not more of those?

One thing for sure, none of them beat the Jurassic park franchises when its came to looking like a real living creatures.
Ooh... I would LOVE that!
I like the touch that the movie that plays in the drive in is " lets all go to the lobby" that actually made me chuckle
Yeah, I thought it was weird that they had some modern looking quetzalcoatlus in the same trailer with really retro pteranodons.
@@irkendragon retro I’d have loved. These look like those pteranodons from Jurassic World, with their ghastly shrink-wrapped faces, skeletal bodies and stunted crests.

The mighty tyrannosaurus- kicking boy to the stars...Willis O'Brian had no idea what he started.
Now that I really look at it Giganotosaurus is absolutely terrifying
The most annoying part in JP3 was that the Spino survived the jaws of a T.rex on it's neck.
thing was that spino was a genetically mutated hybrid. probably had extremely thick skin like indo and indominus yk.
This is the closest the franchise got to feeling like a proper heir to the original in a long time…
I have to say I love this short and the giga design it may not be accurate to the real thing but it’s really awesome to see
Giganotosaurus: it's over, Rex. I have the high ground.
Loved the opening sequence, even though the fight with the Rex was short seeing the mosquito sucking its blood then the transition to the theater was even cooler
If you noticed when the rex roars in front of the theater screen its tge same pose that she makes in Jurassic Park breakout sene cool detail
Did you know that the wildlife sanctuary appeared in jurassic world evolution 2 , in campaign mode, that proves how well frontier took care of the jurassic Canon and how much they also care about what the fans wanted, which is not a park builder, but an actual story.
T-Rex: You killed my ancestors. Big mistake.
Giganotosaurus: I don’t even know who you are.

This is what I'm saying the t rex does not lose that fight on solid footing it's bite force is double of the giga.

The Wildlife logo is also on the Evolution 2 game. Also Giganotosaurus would usually open its jaws to get scavengers to get meat remains of its teeth.
4:30, like how they brought back the Nasutoceratops.
4:10, the most realistic Quetzalcoatlus I've ever seen.
I'm so happy I'm not the only one that thought of Dinosaur when I saw this. 😂
Oh gawd please don't tell me that's a 3D reboot of Land Before Time in your profile picture, that's a bloody crime.
4:13 The video game Saurian, and it's accompanying book, has a list, along with images, of fish that lived in Hell Creek.
Time to get this film rolling.
What I'm still missing is an iconic fight between a Triceratops and a T. Rex! 🙂
Me: nice prologue
My brain: come out now pls come out now
Man… i loved that intro animation!
I'm hoping this prologue blows up the internet! It might break the internet with a billion views at least.
That plot will explain why Owen and Clair are separated from Alan, Ellie, and Ian until they all meet up in the climax.
7:14, that's hilarious! I had no idea! Thought it was the Dinosaur Protection Group.
T. rex: dies twice in five movies
Everyone: "Why does rex always die so much?! It's supposed to be invincible!"
4:50, they gave Rexy feathers this time, rather than regular reptilian skin. Even though this is her ancestor.
I really wished this was in the film
It didnt look like a giga. Missing the 4 goat like horns on back of it skull and doesnt have the shark like sharp head. It looks like carcharodontosaurus. Even the spine back from the game looks the same.
Love it! first part like walking with dinosaurs. Love the ankylosaurs
i love how there is no music in the fight just like the spino vs trex fight
That Giganotosaurus is seriously scary as all hell looking. Like, imagine seeing that looking at you through your window at 2am when you got up to get some water? Shark+Dinosaur? The scariest predators to ever live? I highly agree. Jesus I hate and love that thing. Love how it’s substantially bigger than the T-Rex too
4:53 Well Gigas do belong to the Carcharadontosairid family the shark tooth lizards if you will lol
The Giga looking like a mini Godzilla with all those spikes on the brows and back
GOOD GOD THE QUETZALCOATLUS IS BEAUTIFUL
0:52 I hope it's in the final cut. I hope. PLEASE GOD!! If they cut this, how are they gonna open it!?
Looked phenomenal. I was completely immersed in every scene
I showed it to my baby brother and well he liked it
My absolute favorite scene in the franchise has to be
Dr Ian Malcolm: God creates dinosaurs, God destroys dinosaurs, God creates man, man destroys God, man creates dinosaurs.
Dr Ellie Sattler: Dinosaurs eat man, woman inherits the earth.
Also I'm almost hoping Rexy gets a rematch with the Gig............and wins
At first I thought Giga was Acrocanthosaurus despite the big hump on its back.
Japanese Guy: It's GOJIRA!
1:20/1:21 I have found a Reddit post that someone did where they redid the prologue scene and made it more paleo accurate.
Also, have you heard of the fan made Dinosauria animated series.
