- FL5 Civic Type R (and new Integra Type S!!) Gets New Mounts

The new generation Civic Type R is another winner for Honda. They addressed a lot of the issues that consumers and enthusiasts have with the FK8 Type R. From the aesthetics to the cooling, Honda has elevated the platform. However we are extra. We look at a perfectly good, fun, well engineered car and think "we could probably make X, Y and Z better." The crazy thing is that in this case we might be right. Brian's day job is with Hasport Performance, so when we had the opportunity to put his newly designed mount kit for the FL5 Type R and the new Integra Type S on Honda Pro Jason's Civic, it was a no-brainer. I put powerflex bushings in the motor and transmission mounts and completely eliminated wheel hop while adding no noticeable vibration.
That's a great option.
As daily driver I would stick to OE mounts but gotta appreciate hardcore drivers 👍

The stock rear oe mounts will cause the other mounts to go out 😢

That new sound is crisp! How much do the mounts weigh compared to the OEM, and do they void the warranty?
In total they weight slightly less. I have not heard of them voiding warranty.

Wish you would have some test to see how much more vibrations before and after these. For example sticking a glass half full of water onto engine cover and record the video of water level movement before these mounts and than after

Would the stiffer mounts effect the liquid smooth shifting?
Why do they not make a front motor mount for the EP3...???? Love to have a complete set around????
Thanks for the question. The Hasport Performance mount kit is much stiffer than OEM making the front mount unneeded.

Estimated release date for mounts? Mainly looking for the dog bone, want to keep somewhat daily friendly

It is available. It is the same as the Civic Si for 11th GEN.

I have a set of the hassport ar70 I believe to go in my 07 si. The k24a swap has destroyed the stock mounts in a very short time I drove the car. To thenpoint it broke my welded exhaust when I hit second gear to hard. I hope the hassport mounts makes it work better. I also got a plm k24 header that's made to help correct the difference the k24 makes to the exhaust.

Kinda nuts how expensive the Hasport stuff is compared to something like PRL.
You must not be talking about PRL. As a comparison we have the rear mount for the FL5.
PRL is 179.99 and Hasport is $188.79 and most Hasport dealers sell for around $170. Do you mean one of the Chinese copiers?
@@VTECAcademy the PRL one on their sight is listed as made in america... also, they don't make the full engine mount kit... just the dog bone. And it looks like Hasport doesn't sell just the dog bone by itself... so shame on me.
Are these newer civics as fast as my older 8th gen fg2 with jdm k24a swap? Would a k20c be able to swap into the 8th gen fg2 and be better then the k20z3 or k24a ???
I just can't honestly say right now that the k20c1 is better The the k24. I've been researching them for years.
Older gen K-series are true K-series engines by performance and how they rev so high and how well the cylinder head flows on them especially a K20A or a K20Z3 the K20C is only a K-series by name and feels nothing like the older ones the only plus point it has is a factory fitted turbo but the cylinder head flows nothing like the older K-series power and is totally different and revs only till 7k but feels torquey due to boost but if you put a turbo on the K20A, K20Z3 or even a K24A they are a completely different animals you don't see these new K20C doing 8sec quarter miles where as the the olders ones are known for there performance the K20C even though it's a turbo motor from the factory has weak rods which Honda should have atleast put some good rods in it no wonder this engine sucks is coz the head is 🗑️ and nothing like honda engines of the past used to be and even if you try to make some good power the rods bend or the motor will throw a rod you try to fully build this motor and the older K-series motor like a K20Z3 from head to block and it's 100% guarantee the K20Z3 will make more power then this good for nothing K20C and will also be more reliable with all that rpm

Nope! Hasport Performance makes HPD mounts. Besides being more firmly planted, these mounts really make the car sound better on the inside.
