Lancaster bomber flypast over the Derwent Reservoir and Dam - 70th anniversary flight

- The Lancaster bomber came and did a fly past over the Derwent Dam in May 2013. This was to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the day the dambusters took off to bomb the dams in Germany. We drove for ages to get there - then had a mile to walk, then sat and waited for 4 hours with other people passionate about this airplane. One of only two flying in the world. This was incredible, the sound, the atmosphere, the noise of those 4 merlin engines. An aircraft that does not start by the push of a button. It coughs, splutters, belches smoke and a little fire. Then those huge props turn as the engine purrs into life and the merlin sings. I was shooting on my dslr and have posted many photos to my facebook page:

Following the Lancaster was a spitfire and then two GR4 Tornados along the valley. These vids were taken by Jane Grant on my Iphone 5. I was stood behind with the camera running up to 5 frames a second!
How many more times will we see the iconic lanc over this reservoir in which those brave men practised over and over years ago. If the dam could talk.... Some never made it home from those sessions. Some never made it home from Germany. To them all who made the ultimate sacrifice - we will never forget you and may you god go with you. God bless. K

been looking to see if there's one this year for the 80th but seems not :(

great video, do you think there will be a flypast for the 80th? obviously they keep it quiet but weather permitting i will head over in the morning just incase.
