The Lancaster bomber came and did a fly past over the Derwent Dam in May 2013. This was to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the day the dambusters took off to bomb the dams in Germany. Had an afternoon with the Dcfi at Burn Gliding Club this afternoon. Had the longest flight of the day with Mike and we had to work very hard to get into and stay in any thermals. Not that easy to see - however, a whole flock of gulls thermalling over the road from me in a thermal on a warm spring afternoon here in Yorkshire. Look carefully and you can see them rising in the warm air. Watching this, just makes you want to ache for the skies.

Let this model I was looking at the European Championship or the World F1A,B,C, 1990g before he flew fantastic.
Saddened to say that the designer and builder of this model ~(Not Simon flying it) passed away yesterday morning. A huge loss to free flight and one of the greats who I admired and idolised. God bless. The F1c in this clip I took at the UK nats last year was of one of Stafford's old models. Still flies on rails and I was in discussion with him to purchase a couple when I get working again. Listen to that engine noise and look at that model. That is for Stafford. A sound you will never forget.
