Watched that race in person. Happy for CJ to get the win but very disappointed with how Champ/Crandon handed the cup race. The theory is that the staggered start should allow the Pro 4s to catch the lead Pro 2 on the last lap. Pro 2s didn't have a chance in this cup race because a) they watered the track too much before the race b) the delayed start for the Pro 4s seemed about 1/2 of what it should have been (and has been in the past) and c) mother nature was the icing on the cake with the rain. Even without the rain, CJ would have probably caught the lead Pro 2 with 3-4 laps to go (he caught him 1/2 way through the 10 lap race), not the final lap as is the goal. Watering should err on too little vs too much (especially with rain clouds approaching) and the delay from Pro 4 to Pro 2 start is simply a math problem and should be much closer than it was. Take the average of the top 2 Pro 2 qualifying times and average of top 2 Pro 4 qualifying times, figure out the seconds per lap differential and multiply by 10 laps.
