I grafted some pear scion onto a crab apple late last year and in March this year. The internet told me that it's in the same family and can be grafted. Then, another site say it cannot be done. I have 2 pears in my backyard, Asian Pear and European Bosh Pear. The Asian Pear branches and leaves look exactly like the crab apple. The only difference is the apple has a slightly bigger jagged leaves from the pear leaves. Color wise and size wise is the same and they were only 3 feet apart from each other. All trees were planted from seeds. I didn't get a good apple and that's I'm grafting the pear on it. So far so good. I got some of the branches to accept the apple wood. Your video prove that it can be done. Not all tree are the same. That's so true when it's grown from seeds.

Maybe you could look into Mason Bees as they become active when the temperature gets into the 50's, earlier than honey bees, and are way more productive at pollinating than honey bees. If they have a supply of nectar and pollen they will establish themselves and they are limited to about a 500 yard range when foraging.
