I love how Armin gets so passionate about the in-depth details of what goes into UF Pro kit - It's a real testament to the quality, and the fact that UF Pro are so open and detailed about the tech they use just instils massive confidence in the clothing. The ULT certainly seems to have some great new ideas, which I'm really interested in trying out. I prefer zippers over buttons or Velcro™ on pockets, but that's just personal taste... just as I can forgive and really appreciate the two-way fly zipper idea, even though it doesn't work for me. I just hope we start to see sizes for those of us with small waists and long legs!!
Looks like a great product to me. I'm fine with the zipper btw and getting rid of the back pockets is the right decision in my opinion. Good job guys 👍
(oof my comment got longer and longer while watching the video over and over haha, sorry for that in advance!) Waist: Interesting idea for the waist area! Have worn different pants from different brands (got the P40 Shorts too, which I love for the most prt and I'm eagerly waiting for the Gen. 2) and this seems like a great way to deal with it, possibly even getting rid of the need for a belt as there is one more or less. Fabrics: Cordura is an amazing fabric really, I'm using it for many stuff I sew myself, too. You did not mention the actual strength of the Cordura, did you? I would assume the areas prone to a lot of rock shaving and such are towards the higher denier Cordura, maybe 500ish or even less to keep the weight down? Thigh pouches: Great choice towards "traditional" buttons on the thigh pockets! Personally I hate velcro for pouches as they tend to get stuck on vegetation and are noisy and they kinda lose grip when used too often Zipper front fly: I do like the double zipper on the P40, so I dont mind for this pants either haha Knee pads: Never have worn a combat pants made by you (not gonna lie there), but with another combat pants brand I had the issue of the knee pads being just slightly too high causing the pad to slide above my knee and thus making me kneel on the fabric below the reinforced knee area, which obviously sucks. Some other pair of combat pants had an interesting string pull system inside the left and right pouches to control the height of the pads for those who have different sized legs. Something tells me you guys have sorted such issues out in the past already, right? :D I gotta say: Armin, I damn love the cloth you design and present to us and even to that detail! Thank you for that (and of course a huge shout out to the whole team making all that possible)! It really is a pleasure to see you being so passionate about the cloth and you totally can be proud of these pants, they look great and I'm soo looking forward to getting my hands on one of those in the future :)
I totally agree about the back pockets, I would even cut and stitch the regular frontal pockets and just have them as ventilation slits in order to move the side pockets a bit higher. Personally I prefer the XT side pocket layout and don't really care about an extra access point or velntilation there. In total a great pair of pants for the job that will not fail when you need them to perform!
To all here if Uf PRO claims something it is that way dont have any doubt about it :) Im a real fan of there products the best on the market . But warning once you wear UF PRO noting else will ever match it. To Armin and his team keep on making them damn gooooood products .
please release them can't wait to buy! I love everything said about them. I trust this more because even you, the creator, criticized some parts which shows you trust the pants to still hold up to high standards.
Your passion for the integrity of the engineering is palpable. So I will place my order today! And also waiting on the M2 jacket in my size to become available.
I have these trousers and there are no zipper for the lining. Since these are made for warm weather/climate, I guess it does not make sense to install the wind stopper. These trousers work very well in temperatures above +30c. I can vouch for that.
Always my favorite brand. I love how the cuts are oriented towards maximum utility. The issue of closures, something similar has happened to me with my clients (I sew clothing). The shortening of the crotch distance is the most anatomical, but it does not please. I think that in the future the closures to urinate should disappear: you go to the bathroom very few times really, and they make it more expensive to manufacture.
With that integrated underbelt with the front buckle, are you able to put the IWB appendix holster there? I can imagine the metal pieces of the buckle are in the way.
Great video as always! I love how he is so passionate about all his designs! Is there any chance the urban pants will get a refresh? I would love to pick up some in new colors (grey, blue, brown) and see some development on the less overt side!
do you guys make pants/shirts with hi-vis bands? I work in a open top quarry and no joke your pants are the most durable pants I've ever seen (mud ,snow ,dust ,oil ,rain ,stone ,rock drills ,and sharp metal) they've protected me from them all, and the amazingly fast drying make life way better. looking forward to trying the Striker ULT out.
I have one complaint with all striker pants (I own xt and x). They offer 0 protection when sitting on wet ground, as soon as your ass touches the ground they are soaked through. Looks like the ULT will be no different.
Love the product, wish that you would finally address why you do not incorporate the knee height adjustment to the pants, seems like alot of people want that detail
How much dust, branches and other stuff will be caught onto the velcro of the belt i wonder when in the forest or other areas? Never use backside pockets, so that u ditch them makes sense ;-) I like your eye for detail!
Welche Farben sind geplant? Ich hoffe es wird 5-Farb-Flecktarn geben? Trage im Dienst grundsätzlich meine Striker XT Gen.2, die ULT wäre für den Sommer aber noch besser 👊🏻
Sorry if this sounds dense, but: he seems to be saying that the elastic sides of a size 36 pant on a guy with a 36" waist would be stretched right out? For someone who usually wears 36, should he buy size 36 or size 38?
Anyone know if that waist belt is removable? I like the idea but would prefer the versatility of being able to change the inner belt depending on what rig im using?

I wish that you rethink about the back pocket…. It can stay with simple thin fabric… I hate to see a pants without back pockets don’t sacrifice it , it’s not a pijama.
I can see alot of the design innovations in this belt and back of the legs being adapted to combat pants suited for those cyberwarfare specialists who need to go into combat in a second from a night op raid and something durable enough that can withstand a fun run to a mortar bunker. This seems really well suited for recon snipers but with 5th generation warfare on the horizon might be time to innovate a pattern to avoid thermal scopes that can be removed after position had been blown can't wait to see what your master craftsmanship can make into reality
