Hey CGB! This is the Dimir Control player…and you were right, one land away from a shadow’s verdict there. I don’t regret the Jwari play, had trust the deck would provide, but it didn’t obviously. Wanted to say thanks for the good games (played against you again today and tried this deck lol) and thanks for the uploads. Found you last year when I needed something to get my mind of the craziness of the lockdowns. After watching you and being exposed to other players, made mythic numbers for the first time ever. Thanks for the great and consistent content. Glad the game gave you the content you wanted for the vid
Hello, could you please send to me your dimir deck for MTGA ? I searched for old dimirs deck but couldn't find a full list, probably because I do not search well. That would be awesome ! Thanks :)
I found your channel not long after mtga began. At that time I watched merchant and noxious and then megamogwai. But although I love magic I also saw the problems that came with mtga and stopped playing it. I think noxious had some impact on that :D Long story short: They are all gone now but you remained. And you showed me what true dedication and love to a game looks like. I watched the first videos of the streak without knowing that it would be a streak. I watched them in times wen I was down, when I was eating and mostly before going to bed :D I am happy to be here such a long time and I will continue to watch because I like your videos. You deserve it. You stayed here and kept playing for your fans. You truly are the one in best of one. Thanks cgb and best wishes from Germany :)
Monogreen is just amazing right now. Before seeing your video, I had made a list almost similar to yours, but with different one-drops and Gnarled Professor. While I still abide by the professor (another trampler, who can bring answers to pesky enchantments or just any other custom lesson answers), I'll definitely incorporate Oran-Rief Ooze. Really shines in this deck, together with the Chariot and the Troll. Congrats on the 888th video!
Episode 737 Finn poison Deathtouch was when I first found you. I was like "yay, MTGA is coming to android let's check out the youtoobes" then I was like "look at this guy, such a nerd, I'm not subscribing to this". Now I sit here refreshing youtube to tune in to your nerdy humour. Sometimes you says things and I'm crying with laughter, even though you said it on a whim. You have any idea how hard it is to explain to my wife why I'm laughing hysterical at a nerd joking about dorks playing mono Red or rogues?
Yeah, I had the vibe fewer than 4 is right since you really aren't trying to draw infinite of it. I like down to 3 or maybe even just 2, but that might be overly reactionary.
Not sure where the streak was, but I got back into Magic last June after Core 21 dropped and started Arena just after that. Mono white budget with Healer’s Hawk, Gingerbrute, All that Glitters etc. was the first video of yours I found and I’ve been learning ever since. Thanks for all the content and all the insight. #1 Sensei. Keep up the great work! CKC
I Loved the Cat token assault at 37:00, what a tense match. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, love your content CGB! As always, you're a pro.
Crikey! I joined the streak some point in the high 200s, wild that it's been well over a year and a half! Thank you so much for the content. What a creator.
Started watching somewhere in the early 100 range. Love the channel, the content, the personality and the way you break down the game. I look forward to a thousand more videos as long as you have the willingness to keep going.
Tbh I've been really happy with the mono green deck since Adventures dropped. The past 2/3 sets the one thing green has been lacking has been 2 drops. And this set gave them 2 amazing ones. Couldn't be happier. Mono green is my aggro deck of choice.
I've been following you since before you hit 365 and never miss a vid. The milestones don't matter to me, it's the devotion you have to this community. Watching the numbers keep going after 1000 will be just as fun
Twitch sub here, I just made mythic for the first time with a version heavily inspired by this deck ( I mean leeches took out 2 storm chambers and 2 professors and threw in four wild shapes). For my own playstyle I found that I could close the game out easier by just keeping the creatures in my opening hand alive instead of worrying about top end As much. Thanks for the great content! - The 92%th in best of 1
I have been watching your channel since right before war of the spark rotated. You started out as a way to learn to play better against control, for me. Then I started to play arena more. I started playing some of your control lists. I started Yorioning mofos. Now I watch because I respect your ability and you are pretty funny. Plus we both hate mono red and rogues. Thanks CGB. May the streak never die! Play more Grixis!!!
Been watching since the beta which is before the streak started. I remember YoungCGB channel was great maybe think about doing that stuff again for new players. Started with Noxious and Merchant but knew once I saw you in action that you were my go to for MTGA. Even became a patron for you alone. I look forward to streak game 2000 ;-). Keep up the great work!
Discovered the channel around January this year when I started getting (read: got dragged by friends) into MtG:A (haven't played Magic in like 10 years) and needed some blue decks to look at. Wasn't disappointed.
Ugh the tease of having a werewolf in this set. I can't wait for Innistrad. I hope they improve on the werewolves. Give us some that are different colors aside from the usual red and green. Maybe make some that you don't flip and others you do or something.
I've been playing a slightly different version of this deck, but I'm going to try this one out. Looks great. Also want to say I really enjoy the matches between you and HGG! I know it didn't happen this video but I'm a big fan of it when it happens.
Haha that is always my problem with CGBs decks, cause he's always battling at the top of mythic all the decks are top tier, so pretty much all of them are 60+% rare cards haha.
I've been around ever since eldrane was th newest set available. And now, with rotation coming, guess I'm going full circle with mr. Cgb and the streak. Didn't think it would last this long, bit here are we hahahaha. Love you job man!
Rattled off five wins in a row to get to mythic with this version (subbed two ooze for two big frogs. I like them even if no one else does). Thanks as always!
Cgb i found you before you had 25k subscribers and i knew u were gonna be my favorite content creator. The first vid i watched you played against mono red and you made fun of them which made me laugh so hard. You also knew they had a bone crusher giant which made me realize how in tune to the meta you are. Thanks for the daily vids!
Keep it going, dude!! Easily one of the most enjoyable MTG content creators out there. For me, I've been around here since the early Arena closed beta. I still remember you once posted your second channel's profile pic to see what people thought about it in the forums, after a meme I did with the "feels" guy meme on top of Unmoored Ego.
My first CGB video was during War of the Spark and he played a "mono-colorless" deck to troll us. I was just shaking my head but he was a cool dude so I watched the whole thing.
I play a variant accessing lessons which proved to be the best version for me. It stuffed U/R dragons into a box everytime. Such a good and cool green aggro deck. No shenanigans just raw linear power with fair cards.
Sweet deck! Didn't have 4x of everything from the list so I added two Battle Mammoths at the top end. Slightly higher curve but seemed to be worth it. 6/5 four drop with trample turned out to be a good tempo play most of the time and the card draw on targeting occasionally helped out.
I've been grinding esper control variants on the 2022 queue and by lord are these man-lands good. Vanishing verse can hit most, and you can push sacrifice effects quite hard, but the pressure never really stops while they're down, and even packing 4 lithoform blight isnt enough. I would definitely go for all 8 man-lands in this deck. Esika's Chariot i think is one of the sleeper power-houses of this format, there may very well be a good deck anywhere you can take advantage of it, either by effectively giving your 4-power plays immediate impact or by scaling up the 3 bodies it provides. It has the same resilience as the man-lands, minus the case of prismari command, and even then youre likely ahead in that trade.
I casually watched you here and there and subbed when you made this dimir deck with lochmere serpent. You were 0-2 in a standard event and reverse swept to go 7-2. I remember 'cuz it was the 1st time i ever netdecked.
3 cards that I think need considered: Instrument of the Bards Jorn Blessing of Frost Jorn is just amazing. Importantly, he meets the pack threshold with werewolf. Having access to 8 mana from land sources on turn 4? Ridiculous in a deck where everything costs 4 or less. Blessing is a great way to 1. Draw usually at least 2 cards, and 2, get Jorn/Wolf to a safe toughness level to attack without dying. Even when wolf might be the only thing on the board, you can make it a 7/7 and effectively draw 2. Instrument is a bit hit or miss. Ideally you don't need it but when you have no creatures to play, paying 4 mana for a Werewolf or Jorn you can play immediately on 6 or 7 mana is very nice.
I love this deck. I am a fan of big green creatures, so looking at the deck list and seeing the biggest green creature at a 4/4 made me a bit skeptical. Also, I pulled the shamblers and put in a playset of Gnoll Hunters for their synergy with the +1/+1 counters. I've been playing the standard best of one. This falls regularly to deathtouch and often enough to mutate. But when I can get it going, which is more than half the time, I can either go tall with lots of counters or go wide with lots of tokens provided by the Chariot. Occasionally it has gone both tall and wide - those are really fun games for me, but probably sucks for my opponent. The Lair has won me quite a few games by either being that surprise blocker when they attack with everything for lethal or being that one extra attacker to push my attack over the lethal mark.
@@robsthetics tbf I do think my biggest problem with this deck has been getting land past like 5, I tried one version I seen with toski and it kind of worked but still gets ripped by angels
Yup. I took a very different mono green list to mythic from diamond with a 79% win rate ending up at 98% mythic rank when all was said and done. Most losses came from awkward curves. Glad to see your enjoying it. Hoping mono green stays viable after rotation but its doubtful.
Don't know if you noticed the unnoticed best card in the format: Culling Ritual. Kills treasures, kills classes, kills tokens and generates a ton of mana.
Well, I spent ten minutes or so scrolling through my Watch Later list and decided to stop looking around April 3, 2019, with '4 Color Green vs THE META.' Did I actually get around to watching it? Dunno, I watch too much for RUclips to properly track back that far. So yeah, probably. Thanks for all the fun along the way!
I'm watching this video with "Simply The Best" stuck in my head. I even walk away during a commercial singing it and then the TMobile commercial comes on with Simply The Best as the jingle🤣 I'm thinking this deck is truly "Simply The Best", but maybe I'm reading all the signs incorrectly 🤔
I really think there's a good combo for WG with Cleric/Ranger class. Double up on that +1/+1 counter combo. You can have multiples of the class's, so you could in theory have 4x cleric and 4x ranger class's out and each procs separately.
18:53 You don't have to do that setting switch. I have Auto-Order Triggered Abilities on and it does place the counter from Ranger Class before placing Ooze's counters.
Thanks CGB. Just built this deck finally and so excited to see if it can get me out of Platinum for first time (started arena beginning of Strixhaven). Love mono Green and its my paper go to so super excited
Honestly, the mono green deck is really good...BUT...I've found the secret sauce. It's something everyone hated before and they hate it still. Mill. I hate mill. I hate playing it. But, it has some really interesting play lines now without Drown and Into the Story from Eldraine. You're constantly towing the line between doing enough about the board to stay alive and milling. I've had some super interesting games (at least for me), and the win rate is absurd. I know, I know...sample sizes and all. Played it in 46 games so far. The first iteration went 7-4, the current iteration is 29-6. Crab, Windrobber, Thought Thief's, counters/removal, Cacophony, Hideous Laughter...all in a snow package with a couple of Havens (more for defensive, run 28 lands total between MDFCs, havens, etc). To anyone who enjoyed rogues, you'll probably love it. I'll get sick of it within a day or two just like rogues. Hope CGB plays a version of it soon as it is insanely powerful. Tasha's Hideous Laughter is gross, especially against mono white. Exile half your library for 3 mana, thanks. Love the videos as always. From my experience, in the Bo1 2021 format, mill is better than the Mono Green deck, but not by much. Really shocked no one else is playing it.
packleader is so strong. I was playing rakdos sacrificing and seeing this thing on board was just scary. There was also a gruul deck I was playing against with a rare saga thing which essentially (class card) that helps the deck cast legendary red green creatures for one red and one green less on the second class? And then on the last class u can bring something back from the grave to the battle field? Man it's so much pressure playing against that its really good. I'm interested to see how the format evolves.
I think I started watching you when the streak was in the low 100s. I have learned so much from watching your content and it has been a key-element for me when it comes to improving my own game. Crazy how time flies, keep it up!
Got back to mtga a month ago. Today I faced CGB on the ladder for the first time. My monowhite deck got beaten hard by his Golgari nonsense. Felt good nonetheless.
DUDE! Why aren't you playing the new Ooze card?! It's so damn good! OCHRE JELLY! Put that in here man it's gonna be realy good!!!!! (I can see it doing well temporarily with the selesyna card that doubles counters! ) :D !
I miss the colour symbols; not so much the other ones! edit: Forgot to add: Red mages could now become Green mages; we might need an update on the "Mono Red" song...!
I think two faceless haven is correct if you’re trying to cast old growth troll and werewolf. Also not a huge fan of the inscription; would prefer another creature.

Congrats on 888.
I believe I started watching sometime during War of the Spark or maybe not until Eldraine. Can't remember.
why no decklist link?
Ranger and cleric class are awesome, I've been having fun splashing red for minsc while keeping the deck mostly W/G, innkeeper pulls a lot of weight.
Thanks for all the Videos and your consistency to providing us great MTG content!
Thanks CGB. Just built this deck finally and so excited to see if it can get me out of Platinum for first time (started arena beginning of Strixhaven). Love mono Green and its my paper go to so super excited
the 1000th episode is going to be one day before my birthday. Way to spoil my birthday surprise CGB
Congrats on 888! And 889. And for every other day as well. You're a champion.
Broken wings feels good with all these flying dragons and classes around!
Here since you started the streak, it’s great to see how much you’ve grown.
packleader is so strong.
50:16 They needed to swing in here, you'd either have to chump or trade your board, which leaves them alive to the crackback either way.
watching since war of the spark release ( when i started playing arena ) and i think i watched every video xD love your content Cgb
I think I started watching you when the streak was in the low 100s. I have learned so much from watching your content and it has been a key-element for me when it comes to improving my own game. Crazy how time flies, keep it up!
Good stuff
A froghemoth would be interesting to try as it can give itself counters. Perhaps in place of an ooze just to test it out.
Got back to mtga a month ago. Today I faced CGB on the ladder for the first time. My monowhite deck got beaten hard by his Golgari nonsense. Felt good nonetheless.
When you exclaimed meow that had me dead 🤣
Thank you so much! 🥰
Cleric class is best in set by far. Not only boosting when you gain life, but you gain extra life and get a return with life gain
I believe a light blue splash would benefit the deck greatly with extra fight spells/counters and tempo with QCommand
As opposed to NAVY blue!?!?
@@metalsurgeon9196 Prussian
WHERE ARE THE EMOJIS??? I loved them T_T
Nice plays this video. Some seriously tough games!
With no good cheap removal in the format this deck is really a beast.
You should make a list of the best decks in your opinion. A ranking would be great.
DUDE! Why aren't you playing the new Ooze card?! It's so damn good! OCHRE JELLY! Put that in here man it's gonna be realy good!!!!! (I can see it doing well temporarily with the selesyna card that doubles counters! ) :D !
CKC! Ranger Class, who knew mono green would come out on top from the release of Adventures in Forgotten Realms
I started watching on July 16th, 2019.
This deck looks crazy and i love playing green, but i don’t have enough wildcards... what could I switch in instead of the ooze? Great video
49:40 why not just attack with the troll and 3/3 hydra land for the win?
Green has been my favorite color to play ever since I started playing mtg about 10 years ago. Nothing beats ramping into big fat booties
This is mono-green! This is mono-green! 🧟🌳💵🦎🐊🍏⛳♻️🧟
As Day9 would say, "BIG GREEN MEN!"
I've read it with his voice "HAHAHA"
I miss the colour symbols; not so much the other ones!
edit: Forgot to add: Red mages could now become Green mages; we might need an update on the "Mono Red" song...!
I think two faceless haven is correct if you’re trying to cast old growth troll and werewolf. Also not a huge fan of the inscription; would prefer another creature.
This Werewolf will shine once support for Werewolves from Innistrad kicks in.
First vid I've ever watched of yours but I love the commentary of what you are thinking about and whether you want to trade out or not.
First game when he crews with the troll can't he keep if as an attacker (trample) and win right away?
What would be a good replacement for drown in the loch for standard 2022
