The speed at which the algorithm learns the correct actuator outputs from the EMG inputs is what impresses me the most. I assume it's using AI which usually takes a lot of data to get reliable results but from this it looks like they got it working to good precision in only a few minutes.
Its reasonable to assume pretty soon it would be more beneficial to have a prosthetic arm than a real one given the strength and flexibility it will eventually provide in many professions. Something similar to a modern exoskeleton suit.

If only we as a species invested more money, time and energy into science and technology rather than only focusing on war and a profit at all cost mentality. We could do a lot if our politicians and crony capitalist (not same as conscious capitalist) didnt prevent growth as a collective because it might cut into their ill gotten gains.

As someone with a prosthesis, I find it amazing we always have to have these stories presented by a "representative" rather than a reporter with working limbs. I applaud that the BBC is hiring differently abled people but come on, it's obviously tokenistic

I got an arm controlled by my mind its called my actual arm and it doesnt break when water touches it. Its very durable and re builds itself stronger with use. Show me a robot arm that can grow muscle on muscle.
