I really liked this arc. Hopefully this could give way to an Usagi TV series. With this current version of TMNT coming to an end soon, I'd totally be down for us to get an Usagi TV series as a replacement. Either based directly from the comics or off this version of the character.

Not a full serie, but I would like to see Genndy Tartakovsky, make a short of it. Like less then 10 minutes. Or even better, a Cross-over with Jack, I think those two will play well of each other
Jack certainly draws on the same Jidai-Geki visual style, so I could see it, assuming the fella isn't sick of samurai at this point, heh.

These three episodes where dope, easily some of my favorites from the entire series and definitely the best this season has had to offer so far (at least in term of a stand alone sort of story, the demon guy closing out the shredder stuff was pretty good imo) If I had no previous knowledge of Usagi I would probably be very interesting in seeing him again.
I hope the next season continues the tradition of an usagi crossover and I hope they can top this somehow.
Didn't see this arc yet, but did they change Jei's motivations as well? Because it seems like they did.
I'm reading Usagi Yojimbo right now, and I finished the "Grasscutter" arc. And it kinda gives me an odd feeling that they have (according to you) a more sorcerer like depiction of Jei. I'm more of a fan of the unflappant "blade of the gods" hunter of "evil" Jei. Him having magical powers isn't that much of a problem though.

I saw some neat shout-outs, such as "The Tangled Skein", "The Mother of All Mountains", fighting Neko ninjas on a narrow ledge and a "Sparrow" at the beginning of EP3 :)
I also liked how the turtles were more the guest character´s and did´t take over the story. To bad cartoons nowdays have such a hard time being action shows. Or else in 2010 I could easily see them try a Yojimbo tv-serie. Maybe one day if the character can get a super boost in popularity. I will try to hunt down some comics and read.

Aww my comment disappeared, I say again, no such thing as too many Usagi videos, I'd kneecap my whole family to get a tv series, or even just an anime movie series based on Usagi, as long as Gen is in it as well, and you should make a video regarding easter eggs, and missable nods to the comic, like how the spder witch is actually from a comic story.
I loved it!! I have been reading Usagi for at 20 years now. It was good to see how much Stan Sakai had to do with it..

I agree that this version doesn't show us enough of Usagi's character outside of him being a bad ass. The 2003 series did him a lot better. I still enjoyed these episodes though.
I have Jae's first appearance: Usagi Yojimbo #10.... totally specing on this book.
I saw the 1987 series episodes of usagi, but I didn't know or realize any of this! Someday when I get a job, I'll buy some manga! But right now I'm broke AF 😭😭

I don't think I am; in the 4Kids TMNT series, there was a blind rhino named Gennosuke who was from the same world Usagi came from
Huh maybe im wrong, gotta rewatch those eps, in the comic Gen isn't blind, but a pig named Zato Ino is(character is based on Zatoichi), he also has a wooden nose., my bad dude, or it could just be that Gen always has his eyes half closed lol.
Gen isn't blind, he's just rarely drawn with his eyes fully open in accordance to the comics where it pretty much only happens when he's surprised.

So Jade was in the comics? I was sort of guessing that because it feels as though yeah like I've actually read them but it feels as though this is trying to be something kind of separate from the comics in the way of its tone and style and how yusagi seem to be the only character carried over I sort of assumed that this guy was a TV original. I mean I'm not surprised that he was created by Stan if only because Stan actually was creative consultant and in fact I think he wrote the first episode in the arc but I didn't think he was from the comics at all.
