【Introduction】
Based on the historical records and folk legends of Xu Fu's voyage to the East, this film tells the story of explorers in the Republic of China who searched for the legendary Xu Fu treasure on Penglai Island and eliminated Japanese spies in order to protect Chinese treasures. The film creates the image of a Chinese explorer who is righteous and full of positive energy by setting the protagonist Chen Qilong as an explorer because he was disgusted with the warlords' melee and leaving the army. The commission he received was distributed to disabled soldiers every time, and the important plot that he would rather die together than let the Chinese treasure fall into the hands of the enemy. The Japanese spy Yoshioka in the film seized China's treasure to serve the invasion, and the evil deeds of the invaders were obvious. In order to help her father get rid of the control of the Japanese, the warlord's daughter Jin Na searched for treasures everywhere, and finally died with Yoshioka. This tragic ending also revealed the historical fact that the warlords' melee was actually a proxy war of the great powers.
