Hey guys! Lately, I have been getting the question " How do I make my Yamaha YZF R125 faster?" a lot so in this video, I'm going to share what the two ultimate ways to get more power are. I was planning on getting an ECU and Big bore kit as well but since I have the bad habit of buying way too many project bikes I never got around to it. I hope this video is helpful for everyone wondering what the ultimate performance mod for the Yamaha YZF R125 is.

How fast does your bike go?
125cc 180-190 kmh
yzf stock 140 km/h with blackwidow, tires 110/70 and 140/70, riders weight 85kg

My friend has a heavily modded r125 with a 180cc malossi high compression cilinder kit that makes over 40 hp, in a 125, Its absolutely amazing

The R125 isn't a fast bike but it is a very attractive bike, looks very aggresive and has a R6 styling

How important experience and confidence is. As first bike I've just bought a stock new 2020 r125. My problem is not how slow it goes.. rather the opposite.
Then wait until you the end of your 125 carrer ... Than you think different about the power of your bike.
I couldn't agree more, a confident rider on a slow bike will beat a "scared" rider on a quick bike any day of the week.

also with the ecu if the police pull u over u can fake checking a message and tune it down to stock
best kit to yzf r125 is original kit 150cc, and cone filter better than exhaust ;)
Down gear on sprockets use big bore to compensate for power loss usually a malossi 180cc

My engine started getting loud so I'm putting 150cc cylinder and piston in.
While I'm at it should I but in new cam and valves

Definitely, Tuneboss is the best option out there for the R125!
Tuneboss doesnt ship to europe i asked personaly from them and they said asian market is enought for them

There are also turbo kits in asia i think (from 15hp to between 22hp and 25hp on the stock 125cc engine)
Are you being serious ur engine would be fried within a week 😂
They are for the R15 if I'm not wrong. I doubt the R125 can make the turbocharger spool up quickly enough to make a noticeable difference.
well in my country we modified the r125 and it puts out 40hp. big bore, longer stroke, custom cam, aftermarket ecu, larger throttle body and much more

@@roackeru5999 I’d guess as much as the cost of a new R1 engine. Stupidly expensive and totally not worth the money if you just want to go faster.
if u really want to go into the dangers of porting and stuff then u can maybe hit 200 on a yzf "125"

Yes, Tuneboss ECU is your best option but they are hard to find. You can find a video about the Tuneboss ECU on my channel.
My yzf is a beast, the only thing a I don’t like is the acceleration... But it’s not really about going fast and speeding.. I like cruising and being slick 🙂💙
You could always play around with different sprocket sizes if you want more acceleration.
How do u get Rev limiter to go up by 1k ? I’m also getting a tune boss
You will need a Tuneboss ECU to do that.
Malossi has ecu that can do it and u cant get tuneboss If u dont live in asia
Malossi does not make ECUs for the R125, they make a fuel controller this is something completely different. The only thing the Malossi does is adjust the fuel map. The Tuneboss has way more features.

Is it doable to drive for longer time in the position? Also looking for one
I did a road trip with the R125 in 2018( Videos of the road trip are on my channel). I did about 1000km in a single weekend without any problems.

You used to be able to swap rd 250e and 400E barrels the crank was the same but a whole engine swap is not really practical, why not just buy a 250
If you get a derestricted ECU and bigger cylinder without changing gear ratio your gonna destroy your bike

That sounds like a great video idea, unfortunately, my R125 got sold years ago.
The best way, get more power out of an 125 engine is DONT BUY A YZF R125 ... Think about your choice and buy somzhing like a 2 stoke honda NSR or a Aprilia RS 125 or a Cagiva Mito. These bikes are better for your plans
I thought about my plans and the R125 was the best option for me at the time.
I bought 4stroke because i want to do longer trips than trip to The closest gas station

RUclips is truly a dumpster fire sometimes. I have had a substantial decrease in views per video lately because it either just doesn't notify my subscribers when I upload or just straight up doesn't work. I spend about an hour doing my title, description, and tags, I publish the video double-check and everything looked good. After 30 minutes of uploading this video, I see your comment I check the video and youtube just reverted my title description and tags to a default template causing my video to not show up in youtube search, etc. It's getting pretty unmotivating to keep putting in the work and uploading consistently sometimes. Thank you for your comment I was able to redo the title, description, and tags swiftly because you notified me.
@@LegendsGarage yea, np. I saw the title then i pressed on the video and the title wasn't the same so i though something was wrong :P ( kind of got me confused )
Either way it makes your insurance invalid (and in the Uk, the police take that a bit too seriously) so imo there's not really any benefit of doing this over getting your a2 and getting a ktm rc390. If we're talking about groms then that's a different matter because there aren't really any mini bikes above 150cc stock.
Getting a 150CC grom would also make your insurance invalid tho.
@@LegendsGarage nah I mean if you're on an a2 license. Other 125s don't really make sense to upgrade on a higher license.
A grom is an A1 bike on paper, even if you have an A2 license this will make the insurance invalid.
I'll save you the hassle of watching this he suggests engine swaps or engine builds 😂😂😂😂 waste of time watching!
