thank you so much! Yeah, I never seem to get enough Hamauzu piano music :D I'm always hoping for new releases, and in the meantime, finding time to record some classics
Came in from your Lilac rendition (which was masterful btw) and I am in awe of the first piece and its harmony. You have a new sub dude! Just a pity about that view huh! :P
thank you so much!! hope you like the rest of the content in the channel :) I'll be focusing on original compositions/arrangements in what's left of this year
Hell yeah, I love SaGa Frontier 2's soundtrack! You guys both did a great job on this! It's also very clever that you used the song names from the "Piano Pieces "SF 2" Rhapsody on a Theme of SaGa Frontier 2" album since you're doing piano renditions. It seems like we might be getting a remake of SaGa Frontier 2 soon since the creator of the series announced that they were working on a remaster and a remake and the remaster turned out to be Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song. The previous remaster was of SaGa Frontier, so the fact that they said there's a remake in the works mixed with the fact that they skipped remastering SaGa Frontier 2 makes it seem all but confirmed that SF2 will have a remake announcement this year.
Just fantastic! It's such a treat to see the Saga Frontier 2 duets played after all those years. These were always some mystic pieces to me, great older compositions of Masashi Hamauzu from a game I unfortunately haven't played yet, but have heard a lot about. Some of these pieces are technically quite difficult too, and when not, they're musically difficult to put your soul and the right expression into, which you two did amazingly! On a personal note, sorry for only commenting 6 months later! I saw when when you uploaded this, and I was like "What? just like that? That's so cool! Seeing these two cool dudes play the Saga Frontier 2 Piano Duets together"... like the past knocking on the door. But something great from the past! For some reason I wasn't prepared to take it in when the video came out, haha. Like someone else wrote, it's too beautiful :)
I've listened to this a couple times now and my favorites are Outside World, Intermission, and Homeless from around the middle onwards. The other two are great too, but they are a bit battle-themey maybe? A little repetitive, though that's not necessarily a bad thing, they have plenty of variation and detail too. But the other ones take the cake!
Simon, man, thanks so much for the long comment! I saw it a few days ago, but wanted to take a bit more time to reply. Hope things are doing great! And yes, these songs from the past definitely connect us all. Regarding your favorites, I have to agree, although I'd still put Coincidence in a special place. Funny also how things change, as Flashback used to be one of my favorites a decade ago, when I was all about the battle themes haha. I can never get enough Hamauzu, hope to get more piano works from him soon. At this point, you can ask him directly in Japanese :D
@@franco.albertini Haha, I appreciate it, then you've kind of mirrored me taking the time. Definitely, Coincidence also has its magic. As I said, they're all great :) Yes, one can never get enough Hamauzu. Haha, I could try Japanese on him emphasis on TRY ;) I think I could maneuver through that, though my focus is more on reading and listening. I've completed Final Fantasy 7, Persona 4, Grandia 2, and Tokimeki Memorial in Japanese now, currently on Ys 8: Lacrimosa of Dana. It's so much fun playing games in Japanese :) love the language. Language test coming up in December (JLPT N2), wish me luck! Anyways, cheers to you and the music, to put it in a very Japanese way, let's look forward to enjoying it more in the future! Haha.
It's too beautiful...

Great interpretation. Recording quality sounds great (although I've only played on laptop speakers so far).
@@thomass6927 thank you so much!!
What piano is this, by the way?
@ it’s a Roland GP607, but I used Garritan VSTs for the sound

Amazing song repertory. I wish more videos like this, from this Hidden Gems musics.
thanks so much, man! Agree, I'm trying to find time to record more videos of this type to balance out the channel with the gems we all love :)
