    I work in the Law Enforcement field, and State correction prison, and armed security private contract jobs, as a Hung gar practitioner it saved my life many times getting attack from an aggressiver especially dealing with a criminal who knows hand to hand combat skills

    I do a lot of kickboxing and Muay Thai but I love Gung Fu and particularly have an affinity for Hung Gar Kuen. Hung Gar was my first ever martial art and I love everything about it, from its history to its conditioning methods. I wish more Gung Fu schools would spar seriously. You guys are true martial artists and make great products. Do ze saai!

    The two tiger claw you doing is a combo originally in the form. When your opponent block the 猛虎下山you then use單虎擒羊side step to your opponent's outside and attack, always try to keep the back hand near the elbow of the leading arm. (it's for defends and for you to switch sides faster)

    Thanks for sharing. Its nice to see the training techniques adapted to street fighting. Ignoring the low stances and all. But then you better practice Wing Chun right? And sorry but you are not going to break a jaw with that knuckle "scraping" move 😄

    I really like the flowery moves of classic kung fu styles, but it's really hard to use in street fighting. I don't understand why such flowery styles have evolved, and how they have survived if they are useless. In the old days, like in the time of the 10 tigers of Canton, was it possible to fight in the street with flowery moves?

    • @DynastyMMA
      @DynastyMMA  2 года назад +2

      You’re probably referring to modern Wushu which is nothing like the old Kung Fu styles at all. Wushu was created in modern times for performance / sport. The original Kung Fu were derived from weapons.

    • @tomcartman9434
      @tomcartman9434 2 года назад

      @@DynastyMMA I was referring to the styles that can be learned today, such as Hung gar. (Wushu was also developed from the old kung fu styles, and in the form competitions there are northern, southern and Tai chi categories, so the southern styles include Hung gar too).
      In the video, you demonstrated the original (flowery) form, and then explained that it doesn't work on the street (this is only for training), so you have to use different, simpler moves there. My question is, why learn flowery moves in training if you're going to use them differently on the street? In kick-boxing for example, you don't learn flowery moves, only that you can use in the real fight. Back in the history, the 10 tigers of Canton (mostly Hung gar masters) used flowery moves in the street fight, or not?

      @@tomcartman9434 I think you are misinterpreting what we are saying. It doesn’t have to be flowery, but it doesn’t mean it cannot be used. You as the practitioner can do whatever you want with it. If you train the double palm strike daily, then you can use it with power and precision. I choose not to do it as a personal choice, not because it can’t be used. Hope this helps.

      @@tomcartman9434 Could you use a flying triangle on the street? Sure you could. But unless you regularly pull it off on opponents in your sleep without falling on your own head, you probably shouldn’t attempt it on concrete ground since it’s even more risky.

    • @tomcartman9434
      @tomcartman9434 2 года назад

      @@DynastyMMA I guess it didn't come through. At 1:46 you show a move, at 1:51 you say you don't have to stand that low in reality, then at 2:05 you show how to stand in a street fighting situation. My question is, why don't you practice the street fighting situation (useful mode) in the original old form too?

    I cannot stand the word structure of "Combat Sports". It's either one or the other. Combat is to maim or kill because the person's life is on the line in war or self defense. A sport is just for fun, fame, money, or prize where both people are going to walk away.
