I’ve read reviews where this was their only complaint after so many years of use (one said a year) so I am saving this video just in case this happens to mine.
    Thank you in advance!

You sir, (as someone mentioned below) are a dead-set legend! I had the exact same problem with the exact same stand as you and it was bugging the s**t out of me! Thank you very much for taking the time to show how to fix this issue - it is very much appreciated!

You my friend are a legend!!! It’s a common issue with these stands and I have thrown maybe 3 away that have done this. Now knowing how to fix them will save me loads!!! Thank you my friend!!!!!!😁👍

Thank you very much for your help on this. Had exactly the same problem on a used twin guitar holder from Hercules I just bought.

Just picked up one of these stands before it got scrapped, as they are expensive, plus I like to fettle things in my garage. Apart from a clean, spray, and new foam, this is one of the issues it has. I'm going in my garage now, wish me luck. I'll update you later 😂 🎸 🇬🇧

Yes, all sorted. The pins had come out of the arm. Just needed bodging back in. All fettled now. Thank you.

This is great! I was about to tear mine down to do the same discovery!!! Great work on this as you portrayed EXACTLY what I would have done - every step of the way haha! "WTF is causing this to happen...." And then dig in some more to see what can be found (which would be yet another thing of course... Some self caused and some legit stuff) LOL! The endgame is we end up learning how it all works and we are better for it. Thank you for saving me the annoyance :D

Great! Yeah, I had no clue what I’d find, but pressed on…I love this stand as I use a few guitars when playing live. Thanks for tuning in!

Great video. I have a different problem: The stand had been stowed away for a week and I pulled the top up to set it up again and the top pole came out too far. Now, it feels like it is hanging by a thread (it's not) and yet won't recess back in to be normal sized. Definitely can't support any weight like that. Can't figure out what I should do to get it go back in.

Not sure…I’ll take a look at mine. Maybe I can see something that will help. No promises…

I got a brand new stand where one of the arms was pointing outward instead of straight down. Sent it back to Sweetwater they sent a replacement this time 2 had that issue. The movement seems to work properly can I just unscrew the arm and then put it in proper starting position facing down at 6'oclock?

You could certainly try that since they are moving, and if it doesn’t work out, then open up the guts and realign things. Good luck!

It’s not the best video, for sure. When you look at your guitar stand, once it is open, hopefully it becomes more apparent. Thanks for watching.
