Most all of my upgrade parts come from DDM.5ive t and mtxl.very happy with the quality and fitment. I'm sold on that engine.my Dominator pipe is the cats wiskers.thank you for awesome parts.im a customer for life. Thank you BOTAJELL for turning me on to a great company.
holy shit that engine really performs in its stock form . when these become ported i can only imagine how much more crazy powerfull these will become , but as it is stock im impressed , it just gets up and goes with hardly any lag .
I am excited to see how it performs when we get our hands on the +2mm stroke crankshaft next month. Front tires won't be necessary any more, as they will spend all day up in the air.
DDM is awesome. thank you guys for your quick shipping. with other companies I get excited about a product, order it, then by the time it arrives I have lost interest. You get my products to my door in like 2 days every time...
+RideRedRacer Thanks for dropping by and leaving some feedback for us! Shipping quick keeps everyone happy. Enjoy your hobby and send pics of your ride or share them with us on instagram, twitter, etc.
Hey steve . I installed one of the blemished ddm pipes on my brand new losi and have to admit I think the folks who say the stock engine is a dog never tried this pipe man that thing tears it up, but I will be definitely getting this motor for sure.
Hey Steve! I've spoke with you many times over the phone! Thanks for slapping that 290 in the 5 so I can see it rip. Great channel by the way! I like what your doing on here!
Wish I would of waited to place my order of the 290. . Three days after you said the word of the release of this motor. I won't be dissappinted in the 290 and v2 rear dom will i
amazing engine. I am tempted to get this. My baja is an HPI 5SC SS. WIth this engine do i have to upgrade the transmission case, dogbones and drive cups? They are all the Heavy duty ones. Thank you. Joe.
The stock Baja 5B air filter will work. I think the stock HPI filter is a really great filter, but it is difficult to remove. Get the Shreadstack to make it easier to remove the air filter for maintenance: www.davesmotors.com/af504.html
Holy cow that has some amount of torque ! , sorry another question Steve does this have same size exhaust port , in other words would it be capable with my V2 Dom on my baja. Thanks for answering my question earlier too :).
This will be completely compatible with your V2 Dominator. It will fit right into the HPI Baja. The exhaust port is identical to the original RC style engine.
Hi bud me again. I've decided I'm going to put my 30.5cc engine I've built for my losi in my baja. As I need to do some diff maintance in the losi. Coming back even stronger!! . Will stick a g320 in the losi. What gearing are you running bud??
Hi bud I just watched your video losi 5ive bugger im thinking of buying the 30 dnr buggy can I install the zenoah engine G320 in there or not mate please let me know ASAP thank you 😀
I'm new to rc and I have a couple of questions. Are the large scale cars/trucks beginner friendly? Where can I purchase large scale rc cars/trucks? I have not seen any at my local hobby shop in va. What is the maintenance like for a large scale rc car/truck? Thank you for your time.
Large scale cars are a lot more like the full sized counterparts. If you are familiar with 2 stroke engines like dirt bikes/snow mobiles/yard equipment, etc then it would be a rather easy transition. Compared to the cost of entry level to mid level smaller scale cars 1/5 is much more costly. If you consider 1/8 nitro racing then the costs are actually pretty similar in most regards. There will be maintenance and you will need a bit of space to work on them. I have smaller 1/10 electric vehicles for mindless playing around, but when I want to have a really good time I shake down one of my 1/5 cars. Everything else is unequal to the kind of fun I can have with them.
4 mods I want to do to that engine, find a stuffed crank +2mm stroke (if they've been manufactured yet) and I'd put a walbro wt 1048 on there, a 9.5k clutch, and a dominator V1 and throw a good tune on it
The real challenge has been the servos themselves. We do have just a couple complete kits left in stock. If you want one give us a call or email us, 801.619.0235 or sales@davesmotors.com
Brushless 1/5 cars zip, but battery life sucks. Battery costs suck. Charging batteries sucks. A single 700cc tank of fuel will get you about ~40 minutes of driving. When you run out of gas? Fill it up and keep going. Driving balls out on your DBXL-E with the suggested batteries you are getting...12ish minutes of run time? Then you need to wait for the batteries to cool down and spend another 1 1/2 hours charging them assuming you have a two port charger unless you have a second set of batteries which means mega bucks are being spent. I love brushless and I love electric cars. All of my 1/10 and 1/8 are brushless/lipo but for large scale I am just not there.
On our site we go into detail on what needs to be swapped, basically just order the "shorty" clutch housing 32cc engine, and then use a CY fan cover. If you have a Losi RTR then you can take the fan cover from your stock engine. If you have a 5IVE Roller then you need to buy a CY fan cover that is just $15.00. You can call or email us if you have any more questions :)
Hi Steve Want to buy the Turtle Racing Filter Air Box. But wanted to know ,which is the right one, to use the UberRC 3 Stage Air Filter? Is it the SM102 or SM103 Please let me know thanks =)
That is so Sick!!! I am waiting for my G340 34cc 9.4hp (Zenoah Ported by OBR) to arrive. very excited to get this engine!! I do have a question though.....Do I need any additional parts from my Losi 5T to run this bad boy? it's got a crappy 26cc in at the moment which is factory of course lol Thanks for sharing! = )
+Mark Dmitri You are going to have a lot of squeeze with the mod engine. Fitting into the Losi is easy. You will want to use a CY fan cover (the part that covers the flywheel). OBR might offer that when you buy the engine. You will want a modified "shorty" clutch housing too (again, might be installed from OBR as an option depending on what you chose). You will probably need to use the clutch plate and clutch plate bolt from your stock engine too. That is the little piece that bolts to the crankshaft that holds the clutch shoes. Install is easy!
You will want to buy the "shorty housing" version of the G320, swap the fan cover for the CY (can be removed from your stock engine) and use the CY clutch plate and clutch plate bolt (all three numbers on our site is eg411, gt244, gt249)
hay thanks for the help today ,shame to tare out all new, mamba gear out of the 5sc but ,cant wait to put the new G320rc in.be hard to beat the2028 mamba.after ten mins.. of running the g 320 will go right bye. lol
Everything I own that is not 1/5 is brushless. I love electric stuff for the power and ease of use, but until battery tech and motor/esc tech catches up I will stick with my gas stuff. You are going to love this engine. It is the best thing out there for the money.
Hi Steve Wondering if u can help me. I would like to buy your DDM chrome shock springs. For the losi 5ive T. Can you tell me the part number for front & rear chrome Hard shock spring. I'm not sure which LB rate I need to choose. Thanks gas bro. =)
hey there! You can see our springs for the 5IVE-T here: www.davesmotors.com/ddm-hd-shock-springs-for-losi-5ive-front-and-rear-3-tension-options-.html we have a listing of the stock spring rates/optional Losi spring rates and compared to ours. I would go one step higher than stock springs if you have added upgrades to your car like alum bits, tuned pipe, etc.
That was the stock air filter, but it was the Dominator tuned pipe for the Losi 5IVE. I have this engine in my VEKTA.5 and use just the stock Kraken filter and CY High Flow Muffler and it performs equally well.
I recently installed the g320 engine on my Baja , so I have a question that since this engine is already Pre tuned by factory , do I have to tune the engine later after a few tanks running to get optimal performance ? Or you guys recommend just to leave as is .
Calvin Yang Hey Calvin - the factory settings on the engine are simply to get the engine started. Even during the break-in process you may need to adjust the needles slightly to ensure the engine is not getting too hot. You can plan on tuning the carb after break in. You can download the G320RC engine manual in its entirety from the DDM site here: www.davesmotors.com/site/zenoah-g320rc-owners-manual-ddm.pdf
Recon that motor would help my tlr 5b get off the line??? Can't seem to tune it to get off the line unlike I see some losi's. Currently got zenoha 29cc top km bottom end as last one shat its self so made a hybrid
DDM is a good company, but they are lately selling items without inspecting what is been shipped, wrong bolts, missing parts, and some of the quality on certain items is falling flat. Overall is a good company, but they should be more strict when selling them, mostly so for the amount of money they are charging.
This is the stock gearing (19/58) and stock BND air filter. The engine is a stock and standard G320RC. The pipe is just a standard Dominator for the Losi 5IVE.
It is the giant Hitec servo, sold here: www.davesmotors.com/HRC34900-Hitec-HS-900SGS-Giant-Servo-for-Losi-5ive-HT900K.html My truck has the older HS-900SGS, the newest version is the HS-1000SGT, 1500+oz of torque! The Best upgrade available for the Losi 5IVE
Not really. The Hitec 5765 and Savox 0235/0236 servos just aren't really up to par for this truck by themselves. The stock servo doesn't do great and fades after a while of driving, but it takes a lot of abuse and won't give up the smoke like other smaller servos do. My suggestion, stick with stock and save up for the big servo - "Buy once, Cry once"
Yes it is! We’ve been squeezing this engine into the 5IVE-T for years 😂 difference being the 2.0 has gearing of 20/62 and the stock 1.0 gearing you see here is 19/58. The 2.0 gearing is a little taller for more top speed.
DDMSteveB thx man! I wonder, with the taller gears, if a 2-speed tranny would be a good option. One for blowing off the line and the other to be a “passing” gear on the track. I think that’s the route I’m going to go. Suggestions?
I got one, but I'm having an issue when I try to start it, its kind of hard to start it and when I finally start it and I go turn it off to cool down for break in process. And I try it to turn it back on it doesn't turn on that easy at all I'm still in the break in process. Any idea of what's going on or what's wrong with it?
Everardo Martinez Need a little more info with what is going on. First few things to check: Use 25:1 on your pre-mix Replace the spark plug When you say it is "hard to start" do you mean it is physically difficult to pull start the engine or you are pulling and not getting any pop out of it? You need to make sure you are getting fuel into the engine. Check your fuel tank to make sure it is venting properly and that your needle settings are set to the initial starting points.
DDMSteveB do you know what are the starting points on the needles for this kind of carbs, I did check the venti hole and it's ok, yes there is fuel going into the carb, sometimes starts but I have to choke it couple of times and when I pull the throttle triger it dies awhile it's running. I will go ahead and change the spark plug but it will be nice if you can hook me up with the needle settings. By the way thanks for answering me, nice customer service. I bought it from you when the engine barely came out but I'm barely putted in car. Thanks again Steve.
Everardo Martinez The stock needle settings are 1 7/8 from closed on the HIGH and 1 3/8 on the LOW needle. This info as well as a lot of other information can be found in the owners manual which can be viewed here: www.davesmotors.com/site/zenoah-g320rc-owners-manual-ddm.pdf
+Azmi J Realistically with the stock gearing here on the street is is probably around 40MPH. With 1/5 for me I have more fun out of having low-end grunt to get the truck up and moving. Mostly the trucks are driven off road as well. For straight out speed that is what I have my FG Sportsline sedan for :)
Very nice Steve👍🏼! I like it. Great video as well and please keep up the good work over there at DDM! I'm so Fn sick and tired of all the Gay ass E-word 💩 stuff that so many little kids are doing nowadays it's pathetic. It's like no one in this generation has any mechanical skills anymore and won't try to build or repair things or modify stuff and there only into computer💩 and iPad 💩! Lol , but it's a truly sad thing to see what's happing to majority of this generation. Some of these guys can't even replace A-arms so they have there LHS do it for them, I see it all the time at my LHS. What's the future of this country going to look like when it's up to them to run it?? Scary Bro!!! Talk to you soon and let me know when you got some MTXL LOSI upgrades in stock. Thanks.
It is way faster. If you are referring to the top speed of the truck that will not change too much. They don't hit any higher RPM, but the amount of shove and hustle to get it up to speed is much more dramatic
+sdw2003 Well sure. Keep in mind that the battery alone will be the cost of this engine and will only yield run times of about one half a tank of fuel. You will also need a pretty hot battery charger to bump that size of battery to full capacity in a little over an hour, or two chargers if you are running two batteries in series. We can also talk about the MGM Compro speed controller that costs north of $700 as realistically the only option for speed controllers that will handle the weight and size of this truck. Then the cost of the motor, assuming you decided to save a few bucks and get the castle motor for $240 instead of spending the $700 on the Lehner motor you are totally right! You will smoke this setup that costs $300 all day long. As long as your day is only about 20 minutes long and also as long as you had a couple hours before that day to charge the battery. Did I forget to mention the $280 on the brushless conversion? It appears that slipped my mind. I love brushless stuff, all my 1/10 is brushless. On 1/5 the price is just too high to justify except for a very small number of people.
+DDMSteveB Plus the SOUND! I love the SOUND! Brushless IS faster but I don't want my 5th scale desert truck sounding like an air leak when it's going by
+sdw2003 But for how long? 13 15 17 minutes? Cant pass when low voltage hits. And what about the heat? I know they're fast as HELL but I have to have that sound in my 5th scales I am however fixing to convert a older nitro buggy & truggy's over though
We are on excellent terms with OBR. We just have decided that particular engine is not something we are interested in stocking. We have a few more of their parts on the way to us (crankcases, and a couple other bits)
Well Steve at DDM has gone out of his way for me. So I assume he is doing this to all customers. 1/5 scales are high dollar I found out the hard way but I love the service at DDM I have noticed they sometimes cannot answer the phone but they will call you back and answer your emails as well.
Wish I would of waited to place my order of the 290. . Three days after you said the word of the release of this motor. I won't be dissappinted in the 290 and v2 rear dom will i
No, certainly not! Especially considering the price compared to the new engine is a pretty significant difference. The G290 has been the staple engine for a number of years and is proven to be an awesome powerplant.
Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment. Stoked to hear you are having a good time with the hobby :)
holy shit that engine really performs in its stock form .

Ddm is outstanding in all aspects, parts Availability, customer service etc .. All around great company !! I have spent thousands with them !!
+warlock30.5 Thanks for the kind words! It is really appreciated to hear that we are helping others get out and enjoy the hobby as much as we do.
Looks like we'll be adding another class at the track very soon. Very nice!
I bought one of these motors and I am 100% satisfied with it it's been awesome so far in my Losi 5T
ofr2011 Agreed! This thing is totally awesome for the price tag. One of the best values on the market!
Hey steve . I installed one of the blemished ddm pipes on my brand new losi and have to admit I think the folks who say the stock engine is a dog never tried this pipe man that thing tears it up, but I will be definitely getting this motor for sure.
bryan70546 What Losi are you running it with?
Hey Steve! I've spoke with you many times over the phone! Thanks for slapping that 290 in the 5 so I can see it rip. Great channel by the way! I like what your doing on here!
EVERYDAY RC 320*
A good reliable upgrade i think!
my next new engine i think!
thanks for the top notch review
Any time! Stay tuned for more vids.
Wow! That front end sure did JUMP! WOW...
Wish I would of waited to place my order of the 290. . Three days after you said the word of the release of this motor. I won't be dissappinted in the 290 and v2 rear dom will i
should do a 290 & 320 drag
amazing engine. I am tempted to get this. My baja is an HPI 5SC SS. WIth this engine do i have to upgrade the transmission case, dogbones and drive cups? They are all the Heavy duty ones.
Thank you.
Joe.
Looks great. Lotsa power for the money. I dig it.
I wonder when people will start to mod tbe g320, can't wait to see what people do to them!
I need one just blew my engine up I'll be calling Steve tomorrow
YES!!!!!
Can you throw it in a Baja so we can see how well 2WD handles that torque? Already got my eyes on one for when they hit the UK shores.
I should be able to do that in a couple of weeks. I am sure it will be a lot of fun trying to handle the power!
If i baja 5b to the air filter for this system to which mode do you recommend?
The stock Baja 5B air filter will work. I think the stock HPI filter is a really great filter, but it is difficult to remove. Get the Shreadstack to make it easier to remove the air filter for maintenance: www.davesmotors.com/af504.html
When are you guys gonna put one of these in a baja ? Can't wait to see it in a 2wd car
Once I get the engine back I will put it in my 5T and run it around and see what I can break on film. Might be a couple of weeks :)
Stephen Foster this video was just standard gearing (19/58). It could easily push another tooth on the pinion.
So would this be a noticeable improvement over the G29? Running in a Losi 5ive.
Jason Perrin Yes it is a definite improvement in power over the G290RC. If you have a tuned pipe then the results will be enhanced even more.
I would also love to see this in a baja thinking about one for my 5b
I will get a Video of it in a Baja soon :)
Cool thank you
Hi bud I just watched your video losi 5ive bugger im thinking of buying the 30 dnr buggy can I install the zenoah engine G320 in there or not mate please let me know ASAP thank you 😀

Oo maybe 5, a darksoul lightened flywheel too
Ever going to have a constant supply of the servos? They seem hit or miss when they come in stock,
The real challenge has been the servos themselves. We do have just a couple complete kits left in stock. If you want one give us a call or email us, 801.619.0235 or sales@davesmotors.com
does anyone have an opinion on if the OBR G340RC is actually better than the standard Zenoah G340RC?? Is it worth the extra money?
Wow. Is it ever slow compared to my dbxle 2.0. I was kind of thinking of one of these but no way.
Brushless 1/5 cars zip, but battery life sucks. Battery costs suck. Charging batteries sucks. A single 700cc tank of fuel will get you about ~40 minutes of driving. When you run out of gas? Is this just a drop in motor option or do you have to modify anything for it to fit correctly?
On our site we go into detail on what needs to be swapped, basically just order the "shorty" clutch housing 32cc engine, and then use a CY fan cover. If you have a Losi RTR then you can take the fan cover from your stock engine. If you have a 5IVE Roller then you need to buy a CY fan cover that is just $15.00. You can call or email us if you have any more questions :)
Thanks a lot man
What clutch would you recommend for the 34cc zenoah
Hi Steve
Want to buy the Turtle Racing Filter Air Box. But wanted to know ,which is the right one, to use the UberRC 3 Stage Air Filter? Is it the SM102 or SM103
Please let me know thanks =)
You will want to use the sm103 air box for that filter :)

+DDMSteveB so if iwant to install a zenoah g320 int my losi i need to change the fan cover and clutch hounsing and clutch plate thats it right
You will want to buy the "shorty housing" version of the G320, swap the fan cover for the CY (can be removed from your stock engine) and use the CY clutch plate and clutch plate bolt (all three numbers on our site is eg411, gt244, gt249)

The stock pinion (19 tooth)
DDMSteveB thanks friend!! see my videos too, search BRUTOBH in RUclips, I runnning with 5ive plus 32cc Zenoah and 22 T pinion vs baja HPI..
Hi Steve
Wondering if u can help me.
I would like to buy your DDM chrome shock springs. For the losi 5ive T. Can you tell me the part number for front & rear chrome Hard shock spring.
I'm not sure which LB rate I need to choose. Thanks gas bro. =)
hey there! Sounds a little bit rich, isnt?
Did you run the engine in with stick airfilter and exhaust or with tuned?
That was the stock air filter, but it was the Dominator tuned pipe for the Losi 5IVE. I have this engine in my VEKTA.5 and use just the stock Kraken filter and CY High Flow Muffler and it performs equally well.

its awesome !
Do you know how loud the pipe is with and without the silencer on the losi 5ive t ?
too loud 😂
What's the gearing? And is this a stock engine besides pipe and intake?
This is the stock gearing (19/58) and stock BND air filter. The engine is a stock and standard G320RC. The pipe is just a standard Dominator for the Losi 5IVE.

First few things to check:
Use 25:1 on your pre-mix
Replace the spark plug
When you say it is "hard to start" do you mean it is physically difficult to pull start the engine or you are pulling and not getting any pop out of it?
DDMSteveB thanks for the info i appreciate it a lot.
any idea what the top speed is?
Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed the video. One day I hope that I can pump out some more videos!
Screw electrics, brap for me! 1/5 all the way!
What gearing is in that
This was the stock 1.0 truck gearing, 19/58
Nice
Fail, testing of pipe and motor should be on dirt. Big difference on torque output.
I expected that to be way faster.
It is way faster. If you are referring to the top speed of the truck that will not change too much. They don't hit any higher RPM, but the amount of shove and hustle to get it up to speed is much more dramatic
Like if noticed the missing bolt!
Simply adding lightness to make it faster!
brush less conversion and done, and will smoke this set up
+sdw2003 Well sure.
+DDMSteveB , lol good point sir!!
+DDMSteveB
Plus the SOUND! I love the SOUND! Brushless IS faster but I don't want my 5th scale desert truck sounding like an air leak when it's going by
+HeyDude93gt ...but (mine will be passing you)
+sdw2003
But for how long? 13 15 17 minutes? Cant pass when low voltage hits. And what about the heat? I know they're fast as HELL but I have to have that sound in my 5th scales
I am however fixing to convert a older nitro buggy & truggy's over though
Cool but I want bigger
+2mm stroker crank will be out in a couple of months, bump the displacement up to ~34cc
Cool . How come no 38.cc ddm is not on good terms with obr or what
We are on excellent terms with OBR. We just have decided that particular engine is not something we are interested in stocking. We have a few more of their parts on the way to us (crankcases, and a couple other bits)
Oh . I see .cool thanks for the reply
DDM has poor customer service.
Well Steve at DDM has gone out of his way for me. So I assume he is doing this to all customers. 1/5 scales are high dollar I found out the hard way but I love the service at DDM I have noticed they sometimes cannot answer the phone but they will call you back and answer your emails as well.
Always been excellent with me
1:42 worst post company ever 😒
LOL we like our UPS driver though
@@DDMSteveB i worked in the company for 11 years
they treat you as bad as dirt
well, the main thing is that you are satisfied
Wish I would of waited to place my order of the 290. . Three days after you said the word of the release of this motor. I won't be dissappinted in the 290 and v2 rear dom will i
No, certainly not! Especially considering the price compared to the new engine is a pretty significant difference. The G290 has been the staple engine for a number of years and is proven to be an awesome powerplant.
