If you weren't around for the 90s, NOBODY was known for pressure flips like Nate Sherwood. He didn't just scrape them up in a parking lot but in and out of ledges and down big stairs. I loved watching him back then. Got a lot of crap for his style when the trends changed but he did his thing and I respect him for that.
Nate Sherwood Your tips are gold. I thought I would never be able to do a Pressure Flip. This definitely helped me out. I learned those and Pressure Flip Underflips in the same week. Feels great for an old man who's been skating for 18 years. Anyway you can do a trick tip on Pressure Hardflips or any other variations (i've seen the other two you have posted and I'm working on those as well). Thanks a million!!!
I love this trick, pressure flips need more love. There's an entire pressure flip list that people don't do. You learn every variation you'll be one cold skater
I live about an hour from nates shop and its always a great time coming in and shooting the shit with him and geeking out about all the old skate things he knows about, long live eduskate! lol
Always a pleasure watching your vids Nate-o. I appreciskate the info, because my p-flips have been lacking as of recent. Word up my ninja and keep ripping.
this dude's sick.if i'm correct, first time seeing him was in yeah right! when everyone was passing the board around lol. his slanguage is pretty tight too.
Jovantae Turner does a very notable pressure flip. He does it (or tries to do it) at 1:59 in jacob rosenberg's video "EMB with Mike Carroll and Jovantae Turner." Check it out
Nate I "Sure would" like to land this trick. I do it fakie & get it to rotate perfectly yet it's so sketchy because my back foot would tap the ground, then go on the board. Idk what to do with my back foot after the shuv. I have fakie Shuvs on lock, can do 20 in a row if I wanted too. Please help me so I may rub it in my friend's faces. They've been trying to get me to do other tricks yet I only drill this one. Every. Single. Day.
Technically with the way the board spins, yes. You could say that it's more or less like a rear footed inward heelflip. The only difference is that it's a "pressure" based technique where you use both feet to compress both ends of the deck to give it that springy snappiness like the old school method of doing an ollie impossible where you keep your feet on both kicktails with the front half of your foot hanging off the nose so that you can just let it slip off causing the deck to wrap around your foot when you jump. The same sort of basic principles in physics is applied to the pressure flip in it's own unique way,but once you figure them out,it doesn't take long for you to sense just how consistent the pressure flip can really be. It's a little awkward feeling at first, but once you get used to the feel, there's really nothing to this move at all!
"Roll away peacefully into the midnight sun" yo🔥🔥🔥

NOTORIOUS NATE!!!
ES are back!
nate is a legend
cheers from oceanside nate!! they built a hotel on the perfect manual pads we skated by the pier. hope all is well .
would learning the pressure flip scoop help with the 360 flip?
Years ago Nate and I were neighbors. Probably the nicest guy I’ve ever known
best explaining ever
legend
Never could get pressure filps. I skate loose tricks, are they easier with tight trucks?
nate is the only dude who makes pressureflips look good,
és Accel the best skate shoes ever! Glad I have one of those yet!
i tried and hit my toe i think its going purple kinda cute
i met hm once hes actually a really chill guy
Such a cool guy!
Which shoes are those? Accels?
TRICKTIP LEGEND!!
Whered you get that board???
this guy is awesome!
Just out of curiosity how long did it take you guys to land the first one cause it took me like 10 minutes.
So its like a varial without the flick of the front foot right?
those eS shoes are sick
I LOVE THAT TRICK DAMN MUCH
Notorious Nate
ampuskated...lol
So the foot positioning is like a varial kick flip, but it looks like an inward heel with motion from the front foot
I knew him in highschool. Really a good person.
nice guy, good tip! cheers nate!
yea is been a long time with this guy skateting
I get these so clean!! These are easier thank kickflips in my opinion.
What kind of board is that... I like it a lot
How do you not over & under turn the board? It flips just doesn't stay at that 180°
+musicmania401 use ur front foot as the guide it will keep it stable if u keep it flat in flight brother .
Nate I "Sure would" like to land this trick. I do it fakie & get it to rotate perfectly yet it's so sketchy because my back foot would tap the ground, then go on the board. dude lean more forward and u got it.
I like his attitude
It's a varial kickflip without using the front foot, so you use your back foot for the pop shove it and the flip.
I love this guy lmao
Thank You.
"sorry for anyone who has that ampuskated" hah. you're the best Nate!
everytime I try this I land on it upside down. It does the complete 180 rotation but it only flips halfway any tips?
so nice!
I can only do nollie and switch pressure flip i cant do the normal ones...so weird xD
tHANKS A LOT
So instead of toes flicking toe side they come up heelside? I'm having trouble discerning them too.
This dudes straight up.
Is presure flip varial kickflip? Because I can't trace any difference
question both my knee are F-up so wat do i need to do
iDispute good sir! iNever pressure with my backfoot pigeon toed HA! and iLearned these back in younger days.
remind me abit of Rodney mullen these dude
lol! i like how u put ur foots on the board at the same time at 1:25
how long does it take to land this? I've tried constantly flipping it for like 2 hours and i can't do it. how long does it take to learn??
It took me 2 weeks, skating once a day for an hour or two
i have the same ankle problem as him
Yay! I know this guy!
So it's an inward heel? Just without using your heel?
