I like your explaining of how you interpret the physics of skateboarding tricks. The way I hear you say it is easy for me to understand. I can confidently guess that is the reason why newbies are encouraged to make friends at the skate park or research as they learn. When people are seen as helpful it makes the world seem less intimidating and I learn. That is the point: To get past the block so I can adjust my movements and the board to my intention. Learning different views can only add to the information. I get advice from my friends because they watch me try to ollie. They point out what they think I need to improve on and its always the right advice. Videos also give the luxury of a different view although mechanical it is accurate. Thanks for practicing your editing and scripting the video because I can see that all the hard work in learning those important skills. I am inspired once again to create better videos for my channel. I meant only to make a short comment but I added a bunch of stuff. I feel gratitude for people who like to be better than what they were yesterday. They make me want to live more. You are one of those people even if I dont really know you. thanks
The key really is to kick hard. If you can't get the board to spin, I'd recommend you to use your toes instead of your heel, and once you get more speed on the spin, move your foot closer and closer to the edge, in the end you'll be left with the proper heelflip foot placement.
sure, but make sure you absolutely DO NOT do the heelflip with your toe for too long. make sure to move your foot closer to the edge until you do them with your heel. i tried flicking heelflips with my toe, and i lost the ability to ollie. my board would flip every time i tried to ollie, and i had to re-train my foot. be careful.
I want to skateboard so bad... But I'm so fat 270 lbs and I'm only 15. I'm trying to lose weight so I can skateboard but it's gonna be a good year and a half before I'll be able to. :(
No worries my friend! I believe there is a company that specializes in boards for heartier people. you can most likely ride one of those despite 270 pounds I forgot the company but you can start looking and maybe start skating :)
Yeah like what they're saying, buy a cruiser. And to lose weight eat less fat and start working out a bit. It's like 90% of what you're eating, so ask your mom to make a nice diner with no too much fat and calories etc (of course with vegetables). You can do it man, it's easy.

ntrnka. I've been having that problem too. If I try to land with both feet, I can't flip it as well. What helped me was screwing around with different foot positioning. Find one that helps you flip the board easier
Try to push the board in front of you with your heel as you kick out. So you will still jump forward but bring the board with you. And don't lean much forward before you pop to avoid jumping forward too much.
I like how u teach it step by step and u video urself doing it, i go to braile skateboarding and i cant learn anything there, then i come to ur channel and i can learn it wayyy better

I find heelflips waaaay easier than kickflips. My only problem with them though is that I usually land a little behind the board, just enough so that my back foot can't stay over it. Whenever I try to push back on my pop, I usually catch the board only half way through the rotation. I have yet to find that balance where I get a good flick and can still keep the board directly under my feet.
I had that problem when I was learning to heelflip and I think you should try to go back to the Ollie but do the Ollie rolling very fast and then try to roll slow and heelflip and u should be able to land it and shred on 👍

If you have trouble flicking with your foot that far up i learned them by inverting my foot towards the tail of my board and putting my feet close together i mean it worked for me
one thing that helped me learn heel flips was to hang your front foot off like he showed in the video and just slide up like an ollie, but since ur front foot is hanging off, it will spin
I went to the park where I practice skating at and saw this vid in my sub box.I watched it, got on my board tried a heel flip just for kicks and got a rotation 1st try didn't land it but it made me excited lml.I never get any rotations when I just try to do a kick flip for the hell of it.I would continue practicing them but I'm working on my Ollie more importantly right now but I think I'll learn the heel flip before the kick flip.I know Spencer did a how to Ollie higher tutorial but it would be great if he just did a straight up how to Ollie tutorial for the newbz lml.Not needed but it would sure be awesome and appreciated.

I need help, when I do heelflips I have my feet as if I was about to do an Ollie and it works very well, but the part of my foot in front of my heel hurts when I do it, like when you get a shiner and you keep hitting the same spot over and over again, should I try to teach my self to heelflip w/ my toes out or keep dong the same thing?

I land my heelflips withe my back foot only, and when i try to put my front foot on, i cant flip it as well... any tips?

If you put pressure on the toe edge of your board and do a good lifted ollie (flick foot toes down) they loft-flip so well! :)
