- In this video, you’re going to learn exactly how to do forward crossovers. Coach Matt of the Hockey Players Club and Quest Hockey gives you his tips to mastering forward crossovers.
Crossovers help players create speed and acceleration on curved or non-linear skating patterns. They also allow players to weave, zigzag, change direction, and move laterally with and without the puck, making them more elusive and harder to defend. Because they’re so important, all hockey players, whether novice or pro, should practice their forward crossovers regularly.

Techniques and theories together, you're the best YT instructor. Thanks a lot.
You're too kind, Dean!
For me, I think a very important point that may be overlooked, is when he said if you feel like you may lose an edge while crossing over, keep your feet moving and power through it. I have found that to be very true!
this is pretty true and I also realize that many coaches don't really teach this. In skating, often times that your upper body (including head) lead the lower body, and not other way around.
this is the best explanation i have heard out of all youtube i have watched,,,, thank you for sharing.
Hey, thanks! That means a lot!
This is super helpful. I'm trying to learn this for roller skating but the same principles apply, haven't heard an explanation quite so clear as this one!
Thanks, I'm trying to show my kid how to do crossovers this is great!
Happy to help!
Super useful thank you!
May I know why when I am doing cross over forward my left leg often can’t grip the ice when I’m switching my right to move forward?
Not digging in with outer edge enough. Common issue when you don't trust your outer edge enough and stay too flat which causes it to slide out instead of dig in.

Просто так понятнее!)))) Не доходит через голову, будет доходить через ноги!))))
