I think to abolish the EC, you need a fair number of elected Republicans to vote for it, to get the numbers needed. So…others note that you would need a bunch of Republican politicians to do the right thing, and vote to get rid of their party’s only current path to the Presidency and power. Good luck with that. One way suggested is if Texas turned 52% Dem, which is tough, but not crazy tough. Then the Republicans would likely decide it’s time for a new system.

I've been planning on moving to Germany to get away from this country and the local politicians, I live in a more conservative state and many laws are being proposed and passed that attack the lgbtq+ community, I can't even ask my teachers (I'm in high school) to use my preferred name or pronouns without them being legally required to out me to my parents

Firstly, David, you are brilliant. I'm a female and in my 60's. EVERY boss, manager, supervisor I had in my working career was an a-hole. Men and women. I've been called a *itch, screamed at, humiliated, etc. etc. But I always fought back. I stood my ground and where did it get me? Reprimanded and a couple of times fired. I refused to "get my ass to the store and buy some coffee" for the break room and many other things I was told to do because I was a woman. Consequently I never had the joy some people find in a satisfying career. I left the work world in my early 50's because I just couldn't put myself in such a toxic world anymore. I applaud young people for bringing humanity into the world place.
I hope you’re having more fun now and finding yourself as a Woman of the World with your own identity. I am also Retired and never worked again because I did my part and enough was enough, time to move on to bigger and better things and leave the toil and strife to the younger generation. Women have to learn to deal with nonsense in the workplace and men have to compromise. Enjoy your life, you’re free!

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought most everyone understood the difference between the electoral college process as compared to the popular vote. It's such an easy thing to Google and pick up the true facts, so I won't bother going through the whole spiel. But the most important point is that there is only one fair way of running a presidential election, and that is one vote for one person. I believe the US is the only country that uses the outdated Electoral College type of elections. For good reason. Never believe that your vote does not count. Unless you are a republican, then you should toss your vote into the garbage disposal, where there is a little guy there that will tally your vote. But keep voting, hopefully BLUE, and make sure you google Electoral College vs. Popular Voting. Thanks for admitting that you don't understand the procedure, most people would not even bother. But you sound eager to learn, so you deserve answers.

Anxiety is indeed a force that can be devastating. It's so obvious that people seem to be a lot more pissed off and just plain more irritable these days. Personally, as a 75 year-old Vietnam vet, I have never felt so much shame, disgust and embarrassment for my country's government. Absolutely pathetic.

Hunting rifles are very popular here, lots of good hunting if you like venison , moose meat or goose. Do your homework about where you want to live, in the East or in the West. Western Canada is British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Eastern Canada is Ontario, Quebec ( our French speaking province) Newfoundland , New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. You'll love Canada once you adjust. We are way more laid back as far as I can tell. Oh, and abortions have been legal since 1988 and pot has been legal since 2018, you can legally smoke it in public. We have cannabis stores everywhere!
Canada is not easy to get into, they are very strict about who they accept.

Firstly, David, you are brilliant. I'm a female and in my 60's. EVERY boss, manager, supervisor I had in my working career was an a-hole. Men and women. I've been called a *itch, screamed at, humiliated, etc. etc. But I always fought back. I stood my ground and where did it get me? Reprimanded and a couple of times fired. I refused to "get my ass to the store and buy some coffee" for the break room and many other things I was told to do because I was a woman. Consequently I never had the joy some people find in a satisfying career. I left the work world in my early 50's because I just couldn't put myself in such a toxic world anymore. I applaud young people for bringing humanity into the world place.

I am also Retired and never worked again because I did my part and enough was enough, time to move on to bigger and better things and leave the toil and strife to the younger generation. Many of my families are citizens of the USA since a long time ago they live there. I live in Europe I go to visit often and follow the world politic in general. I am always optimist I cannot give up on the American people they will vote for Democracy . The stability of the world is in their hands as well . I know deep down we are going to be safe. Religion is fearful.
Real true Christianity is not. Jesus loves us and wants us to repent of sin we still won't be perfect but we will have a love for our planet and fellowman and want them saved so their spirit will live in eternity where love abounds.
I see God as a father that's tells us what is right and wrong like an earthly father.
But yes there is also punishment for rejecting God who breathes the very life into us. It's much more childlike and easy than some fanatics would have you believe because they want your money and keep the crazy going.

When are we going to start discussing the "Electoral College"???? Who are these people??? What do they do??? Why is this institution necessary??? What is the difference between "POPULAR VOTE and ELECTORAL COLLEGE????? How did drumph wind up POTUS when he did NOT have the POPULAR VOTE in 2016. Did the ELECTORAL COLLEGE have something to do with that????

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought most everyone understood the difference between the electoral college process as compared to the popular vote. It's such an easy thing to Google and pick up the true facts, so I won't bother going through the whole spiel. But the most important point is that there is only one fair way of running a presidential election, and that is one vote for one person. I believe the US is the only country that uses the outdated Electoral College type of elections. For good reason. Never believe that your vote does not count. Unless you are a republican, then you should toss your vote into the garbage disposal, where there is a little guy there that will tally your vote. But keep voting, hopefully BLUE, and make sure you google Electoral College vs. Popular Voting. Thanks for admitting that you don't understand the procedure, most people would not even bother. But you sound eager to learn, so you deserve answers.
I understand EVERYTHING about the Electoral College. I was simply pointing out some obvious issues with these groups of people who diminish the power of my vote and yours too!!!!
