    Thanks for sharing the beautiful old Detroit! Got a couple on the farm in equipment. People can joke about them just converting fuel to noise all they want but there's few engines built to last as long as these. And when they do need repairs they're easy to work on.

The thing that sticks in my mind though is the sound of that Detroit through your mic, it honestly doesn't sound a lot unlike an old Ford 1.6 CVH on a straight pipe! (Not a bad thing mind, being in the UK i love the old XR2 and 3i and the CVH engine, just sounds different to a lot of other Detroits). What do you run for silencers (mufflers)?

      is it the truck that has a rock crawler truck on the back ? seems legit, im curious what the bed looks like as far as strength . how big is your dozer. I love detroits but get real sketched out by the leakiness. usually end up putting milk jugs under the crankcase vents to catch the drips haha. when you asked about fuel mileage i was thinking it was a response to a different video. the 5 mpg is probably at best im thinking more like 4- 4.5 mpg.

    • @OffroadMilitia
      @OffroadMilitia 2 года назад

      @@DanielBoonesloggingvideos yeah on the leaks. I will be interested on how bad those are gonna be.
      It is the one you saw with the yota on the back. Its lic as an RV
      I am not hauling a heavy dozer, but a rock crawler I built. So it tops off at 5000 lbs, and probably pull a light camp trailer behind it.

    • @OffroadMilitia
      @OffroadMilitia 2 года назад

      Also right now I tow a homemade heavy trailer I built from a Freuhoff truck box with my 69 chevy pickup and get 5mpg . If I fins a girlfriend she might not like camping for weeks at a time in an old truck box so with the Kenworth I can haul my rig and a decent camp trailer. Th3 only other option would b3 an old RV and pull my rig on a trailer, but that would not be as cool if you ask me and prob no matter what I do I will be out a lot of fuel

      oh wow ok. thats pretty neat. im not sure about that.

    • @dth2brny121
      @dth2brny121 3 года назад

      @Creeperboy099 I don't think so. The sound comes from the engine being a TWO-STROKE. It's because of the doubled ignition rate at normal operating speeds which, are equal to a larger-sized four-stroke engine (i.e. Detroit Diesel 8V71. 2-stk. V8 diesel, 568 ci/9307 cc, or 9.3 liters, vs. a Cummins V903. 4-stk. V8 diesel, 903 ci/14,797 cc, or 14.8 liters), that these old Detroits sound like a shrieking banshee out of Hell when at full voice. Similar in sound to a Ferrari V8, yes...but much louder and more demon-like 😁
