This must be hands down one of the most interesting, beautiful yet Avant-Garde composing I have seen. This composer deserves to be on par with the genius of other composers like chopin, sibelius and others
It's good to see Villa-Lobos being acknowledged as the great composer that he was. He doesn't always get the praise he deserves. Villa is the pure expression of our Brazilian forests, identity and soul. If you like this one, you'd probably like Choros no. 10, which many consider to be his masterpiece.
I love his orchestrations. And every one of Villa-Lobos's pieces, I look forward to the humor in his orks. Check out the taxi horns in Bachianas Brizilieras 7.
@@luizcadu John Williams would have been in the 20s when Villa Lobos was still alive and conducting/touring in the USA so I would be almost certain John Williams knows his works. I highly doubt he ever conducted or played a Villa Lobos piece though. maybe the other commenter is confusing John Williams the movie soundtrack composer with John Williams the Australian guitarist

Avant-garde a century ago, as was Beethoven a century earlier
Rs

Magnificent Villa-Lobos paying tribute to Brazilian Native Americans!

It is funny how it seens that many triple A movies copy a part of the song... Many times it ressembles Jaws soundtrack or even Star Wars
Not sure if John Williams knows Villa-Lobos, but he did rip off stuff by Stravinsky, who heavily influenced this piece as well.
@@luizcadu he knows, even played it once.
