    I love your excitement with your newest craft path! It is pretty basic but, since I love my Cricut crafts, I have decided to do some scrapbooking. Hard to believe but I just never did any of that. Now I am helping my Granddaughter make a kindergarten scrap book and we are having so much fun learning. Can't wait to see what you do next with your fabric. Also, one of my favorite things is to watch craft tutorials while I craft.

    I use comic boards for all my fabric storage. I generally use them as-is for yardage. But occasionally when I cut them down, I use an old rotary blade/cutter that's labeled specifically for paper use. I also use the shirt clip, but you could also use coated paper clips. The boards have also come in handy to make dividers for my dies and embossing folders for paper and card projects. And, I use them to make patterns for masks, along with other items I sew. They are sturdy and you can write on them. I don't have an embroidery machine....yet. :-)

    This is very exciting! I sew and have always wanted to do machine embroidery. However I have soooooo many projects and new gadgets to learn and use right now. I have a question: what will you do when you start accumulating little scraps of that fabric that are too large to throw away. I've been just tossing mine in a lidded plastic bin for lack of a better idea. Love your videos and enthusiasm!!! I just shared your video where you made cards with your 4 year old. My daughter has a 4 year old daughter and a Cricut Maker. I can see them doing something like that together. Thanks again for your wonderful ideas, tips, and help!

    • @Bethadilly
      @Bethadilly  3 года назад +1

      Thank you! Yes, I was thinking a scrap bin but also I have folded some of the pieces back into the fat quarter and rolled them back in with the original piece so that it’s all still together. Time will tell as I begin accumulating more and more scraps on how best to organize them. I definitely want to keep them though, as appliqué often calls for small pieces and it’s a great way to reuse!

I have been wanting to purchase a machine but its a very big investment. My question on the machine is their anything that you would suggest that is a must have or do at purchase I am new to this craft so Im going in kinda blind and want to have everything I need and the other question is how big is the footprint does it take up alot of room? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank You

    How are you organizing your stabilizers? Have you made labels for them? Currently mine are in bins that need labels 🏷! Love machine embroidery but haven't done very much past few years (I went back to work) BUT I'll be back into it very soon! Gotta get my space reorganized for sewing & embroidery and crafting with my CRICUT machines and all that entails. Thinking a bigger space is needed.

    • @Bethadilly
      @Bethadilly  3 года назад +1

      So far, my stabilizers are in their boxes or containers that they came in so I can keep them straight! Ha ha! I was thinking of hanging them on a pegboard on rods, like a paper towel would hang? But I was unsure if they needed to stay stored in a container to protect against humidity? Do you have any direction on that? And yes to more space! My hubby is currently installed a new countertop in my craft space as I type and I am reorganizing! :)

    • @joyscranfield5527
      @joyscranfield5527 3 года назад

      @@Bethadilly you do need to protect some stabilizers more than others. The water soluble kind definitely needs to be kept dry! I don't think "Cut-away" or "tear-away" are too fussy but your "iron-on" are definitely fussy since you can't press the wrinkles out. The most important advice I can give is to keep the instructions that comes with each stabilizer, it identifies what type you have & how to use it! Good luck on your embroidery adventures!

    • @Bethadilly
      @Bethadilly  3 года назад +1

      @@joyscranfield5527 yes! I totally agree! I think that’s why I keep putting them back in their boxes, so if I have a question I can locate the instructions quickly. Thanks for your help, that makes sense about the water soluble! 😂
