This lady seemed like a caring & responsible owner. And she was so calm handling the horse which helped him deal w/ all the new manipulating. Nice horse.

She's packin some chub to be barrel racing.knock her horse out of alignment on the turns

I surely hope she is not barrel racing that horse. Barrel racing is already not great for horses, but that woman is too Harvey to be riding a horse like that in such an intense way.

This guy has to be strong as hell to adjust a 2000lb horse! It's so impressive

Fascinating! I never would've thought it possible. Even after some of those rather jerky and ballistic movements, the horse looked pretty open to it overall, and more at ease afterwards.

I wasn't sure they'd tolerate when I first got started, and tbh, it still surprises me that they don't fight it more often!

My Morab was used by the Amish. By 8yrd old he had hock bilat arthritis. He is 10 now. He also has a hunters bump. And is sore in his withers and shoulders. I do have a chiro who comes every three months. But he needs help in between. I realize one can't fix the pain. He takes equioxx. Wondering what stretches I can do for him.

Hi! I have a complete equine stretching course on my website: sporthorsechiropractic.com/equine-stretching-masterclass. All of the flexion stretches for the back and hind end would be great for him!

What is the history behind this kind of care for horses. I imagine it’s thousands of years old (documented or not) . Seems it would only take a horse and a horse lover for this tradition to be born.

It's been around since the late 1800s, believe it or not! My personal mentor has been doing it for 40 years!

Makes A lot of sense now that when you went in to adjust the horses jaw he tried to bite and gave you a hard time. It’s because his teeth are sharp

    • @Sport.Horse.Chiropractic

Yes! The teeth can cause so many problems, so I always check them when I'm done.

Has a horse ever turned around and taken a nip out of you? 😮 How often do you have to go to a chiropractor?

They have definitely tried! But I try my best to be aware of their mouth and back feet at all times! I get adjusted weekly!

At first glance, I'll wager that if this woman is this amazing horse's rider, and she's puttung him through physically demanding sporting events, such as "barrel racing" (as she says he's learning to do), the chiropractor should expect to come out for this horse on a weekly basis, with a different excuse every time...
One, she probably hasn't physically prepared or strengthened his muscular/skeletal system to prevent injuries...
Two, she is way overweight. The max ANYONE should weigh before getting on, is no more than 20% of the horse's weight, and LESS -- 15%, -- for sporting events!!
This horse will end up retiring early from strains, sprains, tendonitis, lameness, and/or spine injuries, among other issues...
This is so sad, as this sweet horse looks like he would do anything for it's rider/owner.

She’s well within 20%… it’s “musculoskeletal system”, and please read The Four Agreements. Focus on Rule #3.

You never shortcut behind the horse - Danger zone?

    • @Sport.Horse.Chiropractic
      @Sport.Horse.Chiropractic  9 месяцев назад

Hello! I'm not sure if you're asking me, but there's no danger when the horse knows you're there, and of course, you know the horse that you're working with.
