I have a trip booked with Emerald Waterways (I think I am on the Emerald Star) reason I booked with Emerald is cause they offer studio cabins, only river cruise line to do so. Viking has 2 ships that do, but have done that one already, and wanted to see something new.
Not sure if you see these comments, but I noticed that when you are in the fitness center (5:40), there seems to be quite significant background noise. Is that engine noise? We have a cruise scheduled and the only room available in this price class was the one right next to the fitness center. Would that be very noisy? There are rooms in higher price classes available, either closer to the restaurant or on the deck above, but we read someone else complaining that they heard people walking on the top level when in one of the upper deck rooms, so we thought the lower deck may actually be preferable--but if that is pretty constant engine noise, we may need to reconsider. Thanks--would love a reply! (I know it's an old post, but who knows, maybe you still check it?)
I personally am not a fan of the lower deck rooms as you are below the waterline and so when sailing can have noise of water and sometimes general engine noise. I have not had issues in the top deck as most lines have some sort of covering on the sun deck to reduce noise but agree the middle deck is the sweet spot
@@tipsfortravellers Thanks for the reply. Sorry, by "lower deck" I meant the first one over the waterline. I forgot about the deck underneath the water. Yes, I see how that would seriously take away from the experience--that's why we didn't even consider it. We were just concerned about the noise we could hear on the video in the workout room, since our cabin is right next to it (on the emerald sun, which seems to be identical to the one in the video--the workout room is on the middle deck according to the layout on their website)
so from 7min video "about" a cruise ship we were watching your face for ca. 4,5 min ....well done...maybe you should reconsider some things editing wise in the future...just saying!?.

Is your eBook on River Cruises still available? I went to the website and couldn’t find it.

+Tsamane awesome! I hope you have a great time. I really liked the ship and cabin.

That should be fine. Also hardly anyone ever uses the fitness room on a river cruise as schedule is so busy....so not used much
I'm glad you asked this question as I have the same room location booked for an upcoming Emerald cruise.
@@dznblkrzs Let me know how you like it. I'll do the same.
Amazing video!!!! Just, as it doesn't really make it clear. Do you mind me asking how much it cost for how long the cruise was?
+GEO 1371 thanks !! It was 9 nights and starts at £1,700 at cheapest time in season and about £1,850 in peak per person. In $ that's from $2,200
Yeah thanks!
+Tips For Travellers This is the cost for a balcony isn't it? Thanks!!
That is for one below, the balcony starts about $200pp more
OK, thanks!
I want a cookie now.....
+Wayne Harris I wished I taken a stockpile .......
