🎊🎉🥳 Yes, Now i'll hav the Omni to place in the beginning of my X-men shelf ( No disrespect to Stan or Jack but i can't re-read those 1960's X-men books - they kinda bored me back in 80's). This is WHERE X-MEN WILL START FOR ME (Not sure which cover though🤯)
My Dad and I finished my Second bookshelf that he got me as a Christmas Present and I decided on where to fill up each of the five sections of the bookshelf with comic volumes. Section 1- Avengers Section 2- X-Men Section 3- Fantastic Four Section 4- Incredible Hulk Section 5- Amazing Spider-Man/Spider-Man Miles Morales
But yeah Spidermans my favourite you will need lots of room 😂 theres so much awesome material from vol1 omnibus all the way to clone saga, plus get the ultimate spiderman omnibus’s , there’s probably like 20+ books just with all those ones
This makes me so emotional, when I was starting out reading comics and was a big fan of byrne I had the tiny pocket editions of all three volumes of this with gorgeous art by Byrne and tom palmer and just rich stories, I loved it
It's real. I had given up hope that it would ever come out. I think I pre-ordered this twice and it was canceled twice. Will be getting it. This is the title that burned John Byrne with Marvel because they canceled it for Ultimate X-men.
So glad this is happening. I had never even heard of this until it was solicited but I spent most of my teens wishing for more Byrne X-Men after he left. Then I left comics and now 40 years later, here it is. For better or worse, really stoked for this.
So special indeed! Byrne is nearly always a joy to read, and Tom Palmer does not get enough credit for the amount of work he put into the industry… I have a massive soft spot for his work with Steve Epting on The Avengers. BUT WHERE’s John Byrne’s Next Men Omnibus??!! Along with 2112, what a perfect book that would be! Omar, do you know where the rights to that series are, and have any contacts within that you could nudge?? ‘tis needed.
Thanks for the review Omar. I bought some of these as they came out but I never got into this series even though it was better than the regular X-titles at the time. Looking forward to reading these stories almost 20-plus years later.
I’m SO EXCITED to see this book has finally been released! I’ve always been a fan of John Byrne and I really enjoyed this book when it was first coming out. The only thing that would have made this omnibus better is if Marvel would have had Byrne put together 5 more issues so it would fit in perfectly with the 27 reprint issues from the original X-men run. 👍🏼
Instead of John planning out a hundred issues for this title, the better plan would have been to unofficially number the first issue as #67 and let it run to #93, covering the original series numbering so it rear-ended directly into #94. Then omnis could have included these issues in volume 2.
I bought and kept the original 22 issue run and I loved it as much as I loathed the "Spider-Man Chapter One" series. This is the perfect continuation of the Thomas/Adams run on the 60s X-Men and helps bridge the gap between the cancellation of that series and the beginning of the solo Beast run in Amazing Adventures. If you've never read The Hidden Years this book is a must!
I only wish this would have run 1-2 years longer. This was one of my favorite titles at the time. I lost the original issues so of course I had to preorder this.
This looks so good. I was going to pass on this omni but damn I can’t watch this vid and hold back. It looks too good. How many times has that happened to me? Too many.
So... I have the singles in a custom bound hardcover, and I have the two trade paperbacks... so of course I was not going to buy the Omnibus - I even prefer reading trades and not the heavier books. BUT IT IS BYRNE AND PALMER !!! So... after seeing this video... yes I will buy the Omnibus... MARVEL if you are listening... Omar is generating "impossible sales" here. Dammit... (I will try not to speak about just how upset I am with Quesada for cancelling it - I want to keep this nice)
Thanks for your efforts on this book Omar, I truly appreciate it. By all accounts 2024 is starting off very well. As a Silver and Bronze Age fan of all these characters, this book fills a gapping chasm in Marvel lore for me. The stories portrayed are required reading for anyone who has asked the question; "what happened to these characters during this era? Pausing my current list of the Uncanny Omnis to-be-read, I am making the necessary adjustments to slot this book in as soon as it is received. Is it recommended to read the FF reprints in the back first before the Byrne-Palmer-Sinnott masterpiece?
Have to say its interesting to say the least. I would lean more towards the dm cover, probly wont pick it up. Have got all the wolverine or spidey books yet, so I can't collect x-men yet.
Does this book explain the Magneto turning into a baby thing? Because I found it weird how he talks about in the Claremont run he was turned into a baby, but that never happened in the 66 issues of the first series.
Good for those who wanted to get this series, but what a failure to capitalize on filling the gaps of UXM 67-93 and not synergize old-school lore with the X-MEN lore to come post Giant Size. Just my opinion.
@@anthonymusgrave569 I'll get it then. I was buying the original Byrne issues off the comic rack. Just was worried that this was nothing but a rehash cash grab for all involved.
Bad fan, I didn't preorder this because I thought it was the same content as the Epic Collection release It's Always Darkest Before The Dawn....how wrong was I?!
Why would you spoil that in the comments when Omar went out of his way to not spoil that in the video? I've read these before but I would guess a bunch of people in here haven't
@@nivekleveb8872giving an opinion on a book is hardly a spoiler. He didn’t give away any plot surprises. Omar intentionally doesn’t really give his opinion on books during these overviews, but there’s no reason why viewers can’t say whether they liked the book or not.

I love John Byrne

Beatiful art! That guy knew how to draw the human form. So dynamic.
It's John Byrne and X-men so a must buy!
It's coming!!!! I've been worrying that this would get pushed to a later date. I can't wait for my pre-order to ship.
Well… if it ends up discounted enough, I may pick it up.
So glad this is happening. I had never even heard of this until it was solicited but I spent most of my teens wishing for more Byrne X-Men after he left. Then I left comics and now 40 years later, here it is. For better or worse, really stoked for this.
Thank you brother, for showcasing this omni. I'll put mine in the same order as yours. It makes sense.✌️

Really looking forward to this, and your overview. Gracias, Omar. Now if only DC could give us an Omni of his Wonder Woman run.
Thanks for the review Omar. I bought some of these as they came out but I never got into this series even though it was better than the regular X-titles at the time. Looking forward to reading these stories almost 20-plus years later.
I AM DEFINITELY BUYING THIS ONE!!!!!! A MILLION THANKS FOR THIS OVERVIEW, OMAR!!!

Great book for us Byrne Victims
More like Byrne Tragics😂😂😂

Hope we also get a Darkest Before the Dawn/Lost Years omni

Getting this!!!! Glad I waited on uncanny 5 now to grab the prelude!!!!! Great work OMAR!!!!!!
My understanding is that it was mainly later writers contradicting this series who did the retconning.
This just means we're one step closer to getting an eXiles Omnibus! 🙏
Looks like a great book.
Was actually just wondering if they had this and bam this pops up. Wow. The Universe just speaks.
I only wish this would have run 1-2 years longer. This was one of my favorite titles at the time. I lost the original issues so of course I had to preorder this.

Finally! Standard edition is on the way, was shelving it in the same place, seems like the only place it fits. OG X-Men at their best!
The only thing since it’s so small at 22 issues it should have been an epic collection
So... I have the singles in a custom bound hardcover, and I have the two trade paperbacks... so of course I was not going to buy the Omnibus - I even prefer reading trades and not the heavier books.

So hyped, won’t be able to get it right away. I pray it doesn’t go out of stock quick
Is this stories collected in chronological order in the Epic Collection format?
This thing looks gorgeous, the colors really pop.
did they really miscolor Jean's mask (green instead of yellow) on the front cover?
Where is the review of Savage Dragon ultimate collection vol.2
I was originally going with the DM cover, but the disrespect to Professor X there, I just can't
What we need now?? 🤔🤔🤔 Now we need X-MEN: FIRST CLASS OMNIBUS 😃😃There is enough material for a large new omnibus😉😉
Hidden years is cool. but I would really love a "lost years" omni that collects all the random issues the x men appeared in while they were canceled.
I'm buying this book. Then next Halloween, I'll break up the original comics into sets and give them out to kids in the neighborhood.
Have to say its interesting to say the least. I would lean more towards the dm cover, probly wont pick it up. Have got all the wolverine or spidey books yet, so I can't collect x-men yet.
Hope it does connect with Giant Size X-men # 1 !
Does this book explain the Magneto turning into a baby thing? Because I found it weird how he talks about in the Claremont run he was turned into a baby, but that never happened in the 66 issues of the first series.
Does Beast turn blue in this run?
No. That has been collected in Epic Format and Marvel Masterworks.

As long as this isn't kiddy like the untold stories of Spiderman. That book to me really let me down
It’s not “kiddy”. If you liked Byrne’s other Marvel runs such as Uncanny, FF, Alpha Flight, Namor etc., then I think you’ll enjoy this too.

100$ for 640 pages on crappy paper... Yeah, Marvel is milking it.
Omar, that black writing on the red background of the contents was terrible-it made my eyes screw up.🤮🤮 Great review, though.
I read this on marvel unlimited and thought it was pretty mediocre. but cool that it’s here for people that want it
Why would you spoil that in the comments when Omar went out of his way to not spoil that in the video? I've read these before but I would guess a bunch of people in here haven't
