I lived in Menard county for 20 years and five of those in Petersburg itself .. in the ol school apts at 17:42... the empty lot was another large apt building that was the gymnasium ,, it had 10 apartments in it burnt to the ground several years ago , i lived in an apt on the other end of the building... a young woman did pass in the fire and there were several injuries also... I still remember that winter night like it was yesterday.
