Erin Ash Sullivan’s first foray into music was as one-half of the folk duo Edith O. with Amy Speace. After a hiatus to focus on her family and career as an educator, Erin returned to writing and performing. In May 2021, she released her debut solo album, We Can Hear Each Other, which reached #10 on the FAI DJ Chart. In 2022, she was selected as one of the “Most Wanted” performers from the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival’s Emerging Artist Showcase and was John Platt’s selection for the Folk DJ Showcase at NERFA. Erin’s award-winning songs highlight family stories, perspectives on being a mother and a daughter, and the rhythms of life in New England. John Platt describes Erin as having “a special talent that reminds me of early Dar Williams,” and Victor Infante of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette describes her music as full of “nuance and emotional resonance.”
NERFA focuses on serving, strengthening, and engaging the Northeast regional folk music community. Our mission is to provide professional development and advocacy for artists, venues, and music professionals within the umbrella genres of folk, roots, and Americana to ensure the vitality of the community and the sustainable pursuit of a life in the arts.
