0:33 Can we appreciate the fact Neville noticed everyone backing up and instead just ducked behind the rock.
In all my life since 2004, I have NEVER noticed that. Thank you so much for pointing out a small, yet interesting detail.
BrooklynMcupkiller where is Neville there?
Oh I saw him
Stephen King, same here
Neville’s hilarious lol
I loved Harry flying in this scene because he looked so free and happy. Prisoner of Azkaban is a masterpiece.
Harry pulled titanic in this scene
It was probably his least stressful year😂
Just like the scene from _Avatar_ where Jake rode on his banshee for the first time
Right up there with the flight sequences in How To Train Your Dragon.
Weirdly, almost all of my favourite scenes from Harry Potter are when he was flying. Riding Buckbeak, riding the Gringott's dragon, flying in Quidditch for the first time, the trip to the Order's headquarters....those scenes were all so well done in the movies
I like that this scene is a small glimpse into what kind of person Harry is. He didn't ask for adventure and trouble, but when called upon he just accepted and rolled with it without flinching.
That's the perfect explanation of this scene! I couldn't put it into words so thanks for that.
It isn’t entirely coincidence that Dan is like that too.
In the book he volunteered because he didn't want Hagrid's first lesson to be unsuccessful .
@@namrata9218yeah but he only volunteered to bow to Buckbeak so it would let him pat its beak and nothing more. he didn't know Hagrid would make him ride it and freaking fly on it and he went on anyways hahah so the point remains
Didn’t ask for trouble but he sure went looking 4 it remember the sorcerer’s store and the chamber of secrets

This scene has a special touch. It's actually way heartbreaking because is one of the few times you see Harry happy.
“Don’t pull out any of his feathers, cuz he won’t thank you for that”
*Spanks the hippogriff*
That absolutely sounds like an innuendo of some kind. Lol
End of the film: feather with firebolt from sirius
That Hippogriff should have been in the last movie fighting. Buckbeak was enormous, with the size of him plus being able to fly and ferocity he'd have been helpful to take on some Death Eaters.
@@heyheyheyheyheyhey76 in the books, he and the thestrals were fighting Voldemort's giants☺

I never realised how weird that sounds
Did u hear him say woo boo

I love the idea that Hagrid is naturally suited to handling a hippogriff
He never has to worry about offending them because being impolite is not in his nature and they immidiately sense that and trust him completely.
Hagrid has always been the type to take care of animals and mythical creatures
We will miss you Hagrid. Kindest Harry Potter character EVER.

I think we can all agree that ‘Prisoner of Azkaban’ Harry look was the best out of all.
I like his haircut in Order of the Phoenix it really suited him. Dan played Harry very accurate to the book I gotta say he's a talented actor I loved all of his films since Harry Potter
Totally agree 👍
Great cinematography
Great Direction
Great acting
Everything 💯
Daniel really fits Harry's looks, except for the green eyes, but I prefer his look in deathly hollows
@@ngxinyue9902 the reason he doesn't have green eyes in the films is because Dan was allergic to the contact lenses so JK Rowling agreed that Dan didn't have to wear them and change Harry's eyes to blue same as Dan's
Also dracos haircut was the best
R.I.P. Robbie Coltrane. Nobody could've done a better Hagrid.

Yeah, I watched this film when it was in theatres at the age of 7. I'm 25 and still tear up at this scene. It's one of the few moments Harry gets to be a kid. No chosen one, no Voldemort, no insane pressure of being The Boy Who Lived. Alfonso Cuarón really captured the human aspects of the story so well.
Yes! This is exactly why I tear up every time I watch this scene 😭💕 He looks so happy and free!! Especially because he grew up in the Muggle world, so this is completely otherworldly and fantastic to him and it brings him so much joy 🥹💕

this scene is magical in every sense. It's not just the breath-taking visuals but the emotions harry feels, the sense of awe, the freedom and the empowerment he experiences sitting on the back of the magical creature and zipping through the skies faster than wind plus john Williams amazing background score makes this scene one of the best in the whole hp series and even in the history of cinema

Indeed. I mean if you know anything about fanfiction that is.
I LOVE THIS
It's a way of life.
In what way is it a genre?
This is one scene I think was done better than the books..in the books Harry was uncomfortable sitting on top of Buckbeak and it was kind of underwhelming..but this scene is so wholesome with them circling around the castle that we feel like we're riding along with him..Like we are in Hogwarts..
true, this scene in the book is so underwhelming
Certain scenes throughout all the movies adapted scenes from the books really well. The movies were held back by the books being longer and longer and the movie writers having to cram the stories into a 2 hour movie. Especially 4,5, and 6. They did a decent job especially with prisoner of Azkaban
@@JJ_5289 i would say the movies were held back by the time restrictions that studios put on commercial films. They most likely shot enough to be more similar to the books, but it had to be edited down so that it was consumable to the largest audience possible/fit the time that theaters make the most profit from

Whilst Harry was riding Buckbeak, I'd like to think Harry just let go of everything for a brief moment including his identity and just immersed himself in the moment of existing with pure happiness. He felt the joy of living to experience these great things.

Hagrid: "Whatever you do, do not insult the Hippogriff!"
Also Hagrid to the Hippogriff: "Here you big brute..."

Don’t kinkshame.
Hagrid has a bond with quite a lot of creatures in the books he's actually very knowledgable about magical creatures and Harry gets an Exceeds Expectations grade and Hermione Outstanding so Hagrid is clearly a very competent teacher
Buckbeak knows this guy quite well and accepts him. Also, Buckbeak knows that over the course of a typical week Hagrid will feed him more quality meat than he (Hagrid) weighs, so the cost-benefit ratio of eating him is not favorable.
Hagrid's a chad, tho. He can get away with things that us normies can only dream of.
RIP Hagrid ❤️
Buckbeak's flight scene is one, if not the most beautiful scene from the movies in every sense of the word from a film making perspective.
The composition on each of the shots, the environments, THE SCORE, all of it is pure perfection and it all comes together into a most happy and enjoyable moment for any spectator on the couch or cinema.
You don't get to see this quality of storytelling nowadays, you just don't.
I like the change in this scene. In the book, Harry did not like riding Buckbeak. But in the movie, he had the time of his life. Thankee, Hollywood!
I think Harry and Hermione both rode Buckbeak in the book to rescue Sirius. 🤠
It makes a lot of sense that he doesnt.
Here it is depickted stupidly as well. How does it glide over the water for that long without flapping its wings.
What he dislikes in the book is exactly the constant movement up and down and the fact he has a hard time holding on.
