Late September 1954. All new cars came out in late September, some models didn’t hit the dealers until early October. The bunch of guys I was friends with went every year, every dealer in our hometown to do a viewing.
By the comments, I guess it's a 55? My Uncle had a 57 with a 396 V8 in it. He was a jet mechanic at Moffett field Air base in Santa Clara/Sunnyvale in CA. He used to take me to the Fremont Drag Strip; I was 12 at the time. He then had a Chevelle SS with a 396. Talk about fun for a young teenager!
