  • In an eye-opening revelation, Compassion in World Farming has unveiled distressing conditions across Scotland's major salmon farming operations. This groundbreaking footage sheds light on the grim realities faced by salmon at five of the nation’s top producers, which together represent more than 96% of the industry. The investigation highlights a concerning disregard for animal welfare, showcasing environments that are not only inadequate but also contribute significantly to the suffering of countless fish. This urgent exposé serves as a critical wake-up call for consumers worldwide, stressing the importance of rethinking our choices and the sources of our seafood. It underscores the necessity of avoiding Scottish farmed salmon to not only protest against the inhumane practices unveiled but also to demand a shift towards more ethical and sustainable methods of aquaculture. Compassion in World Farming's work in bringing these issues to light is pivotal in advocating for the rights and well-being of aquatic life, aiming to inspire change in industry standards and consumer behavior alike.

I'm so happy that out paths crossed and I got to see your channel. I am heartbroken by this, these salmon farming operations should be shutdown!!! It's all about the mighty buck, and it just makes me sick. Thank you for bringing awareness to this serious problem. New sub and I'm loving your channel!

It makes me sick to my stomach thinking about all of the decomposing flesh/bio hazards that is for sure making it into circulation. Its truly disheartening when people disguise inferior or dangerous products to scam people with what they themselves will not consume. Thanks for posting this, I've avoided farmed salmon and spread the word to fellow food and bev people ever since I saw your video about farmed salmon a while back.

Sickening and I despair that the Scottish Government will never do anything about this awful industry, not whilst it’s raking in the tax . As useful as this excellent exposure is I can’t help but thinking that it needs national exposure on mainstream media as opposed to RUclips which is niche by comparison.
Just a thought but a “fighting fund” from Angling clubs, individual fisherman, enviro groups and the “well healed” could go a long way to putting a campaign into the red tops and broadsheets. Imagine the impact a terrestrial TV ad could do over say a 2 week period. I know it would cost so amass the funds, which may take years, then go after this industry hard.
Unless the general population see it for themselves on their TV screens,in the break between the soaps, then there is little chance of any progress. Pains me to come to that conclusion but how can any other be drawn when The ScottishGovernment have rubber stamped an expansion of the industry; and that is despite all the reports and anti aquaculture publicity. The only currency a politician understands is votes and popularity. I can guarantee that any pro fish farming MP would do a u turn in a heartbeat if he thought supporting this industry would lose him/her their Time to go MAINSTREAM.

    So depressing!
    Don't buy/eat farm fish!
It's bad for your health, and bad for the environment!
