My mom and I just shared a laugh over it, waiting for clam cakes and chowder at Iggy’s. Thank you to Sesame Street and Grace sick I mean Slick for bringing us together for a moment ❤
This always hits deep parts of your brain, no matter how old. Groovy, mysterious and even slightly menacing. Part jazz, part spoken word, part music video, part psychedelic pop, part punk. Ahead of its time. Grace Slick’s vocals are perfect.
And to think that recently & embarrassingly, HBO-Max censored this and other great Sesame Street skits! Shame on them! What were they thinking? Did they think the psychedelic colors in this cartoon were going to encourage the kids to take acid or LSD?
e-mail me ;-) It's in the 'about me'. A 'certain' TV program? As long as it's not Al Goldstein's cable access show "Midnight Blue" from NYC... You've "piqued" my interest.
More than fifty years later, I discover that Grace Slick did the vocals. Excellent.
You and me both ;-)

Are you kidding?? GRACE SLICK?! I remember these when they first came on tv. Had no idea I had such good taste in music at the age of 6.
I was floored when I learned that also while doing the research!
Thank you, this is so cool! Got here from a comment on a Denny Z. album posting.

'Menacing' is the perfect descriptor.
TOTALLY felt that vibe as a kid.
Amazing piece of music.
This slaps, honestly.
Are we talking about THAT Grace Slick??😳😳😲😲
Uh-huh ;-)
Yup!
Killer beat...
From Sesame Street's glory days!
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
This gave me night terrors at 5 years old. Eeek...
Now that you mention it...😁

Any invcedible piece of music
Love that song. Pretty good beat to it.
If I give you a link for one of my private youtube videos of a certain tv program, could you work your wonders with the sound?

I got your link, but now can't find it. Please email it to my gmail (musicom67). YT sucks for communication.
I guess #1 was never available for anything except the baker number segments they had.
Is the original song (no vocals)on an album? What’s the name please?
No, this was cobbled together entirely from the film soundtrack from Sesame Street. This was never on an album as far as I know...
I know...I wish the music was standalone...
I wish I can figure the score on this tune. Trying to perform this by ear. But this is hard. Sounds like it's in the key of G
"Six".
"Six" by Denny Zeitlin.
Sesame Street tried Ozzy but he kept stuttering "6..6...6." Can't have Satanism on a kid's show.
Grover was Satan
Okay
Six.
