The shortcode isn't displaying for me :( it just says repeats the code without bringing up the images associated
In the newer versions of Wordpress you should use the "shortcode" block. So make sure you are using the "shortcode" block instead of the "html" block.

How to use elementor pro to show same sidebar on all your website?
Elementor pro generates shortocdes for templates. You can use the shortcode to place your template on a sidebar or anywhere else that you like

is there a way to make the sidebar retractable?
There are plugins that can help you with this like "WP sticky sidebar". It is also possible with Elementor but it's a bit tricky. Look for "sticky sidebar menu" and you will find videos and articles on the subject.
I made the sidebar using elementor but I don't find widget area to place the code. Could you please tell me the alternative to put the code?
