wow DJI made a FORK MIC! how much! take my money!!!!!!
DJI sent me the fork for review. I’m about to test a few other products 🔥😈
A good way to approach whatever mode of camera movement (or not) is to consider the point of view of that scene.
So, let's take for example paintball. It might make sense to go hand held. But consider if the POV of your subject is calm, collected and focused, it might make sense for the camera movements to be smooth and less chaotic.
Just something to consider. Thanks for sharing!
Edit* lol I just noticed the fork mic grip
I don’t think people consider the perspectives of the subject enough!
I think it’ll be a flip flop next time??
I feel this! I bought my first gimbal 2 years ago, and I've probably used it not even 10 times.
It normally ends up being the tool I'll bring to a project thinking I need it but I end up never actually using it.
There's just too much friction between getting setup and taking the shots whereas I can just pull my ready handheld rig out of my backpack and off I go immediately.
Gimbals I feel definitely have their place in filmmaking world, but to me at least, they're not the bread and butter of all good video work like many bigger creators believe.
SAY IT LOUDER FOR THOSE IN THE BACK!
I love how little friction there is with handheld rigs. If I take off so much as a microphone, I have to rebalance everything. It’s exhausting.
I haven't used my gimbal in over a year. Yet I still want to upgrade it. 🤔
I openly try to avoid using it 😂
I was so into getting gimbal but it was out of my budget. So I've been shooting handheld for 3 months for many projects. When the thought of buying gimbal came, I thought that, I never needed a gimbal. I prefer handheld more than gimbal. I even analyzed my favorite film, it was mostly handheld and tripod. When I need smooth shot, I always shoot them in slow motion. IMO We all should start doing handheld first for a couple of projects before buying a gear you might not even use in the future. Although, drones is a MUST, many times, I always wanted to get a drone shot but couldn't.
This is actually so cool. I wish I had that type of foresight before I bought mine.
I use my Osmo Pocket gimbal a lot. I haven't used my big gimbal in over 2 years. Occaisionally I use my smarrphone gimbal
I think the Osmo pocket totally has its place, but I think it lacks in its ability to tell dramatic stories the same way a shaky handheld camera would.
@@Spencerreich Time and place for everything. I use both. I generally use my Sony w 18-105mm f4 or 23mm handheld. My Osmo is usually used in b-roll acquisition.
Is that a fucking FORK?
Yes. DJI sent it to me for review
I would personally say it is an eating fork...
@@chennyye28 I can confirm, that was the use after the filming of this video 😂
@@Spencerreich 😄👍
This argument is severely overlooked. I am really glad to hear someone else echo it. Great video!
I’m glad I’m not crazy 😂 #normalizehandheld
im by no means doing productions as big as you right now, but i bought a S5 a year or two ago and the handheld capabilities of it blew my mind haha. @@Spencerreich
Totally get you I’m a big hand held guy ha!
I’m glad to hear others understand
Just noticed I’m using a gimbal in my picture 🤣 it wasn’t my job hahah
Straight Facts!!
