i wouldn't want a manager who's main objective is more money , we need someone who want to do the job for the love of the team
😆😆 Good luck with that. Klopp was the one authentic manager who did come for the love of the team. Besides Lijnders every other manager will come for money.
as a portuguese who knows a little about Ruben Amorim as a Benfica player and now a coach at Sporting, I highly doubt the problem is money for him. What Amorim says and shows is that he is all about the project. But he does not want to harm Sporting and Sporting doesn't have to let him go for free. Sporting started winning more consistently after decades of very rarely winning anything, and there's also the idea that it's mostly because Amorim who defined the way to go for the club, so it's a big deal.
Also, Amorim shows to be a very nice guy, but he's a guy with confidence in his skills and proud. So if a club said "no", I'm not seeing him begging.

Klopp was unique. He didn't care about the money he was earning way less than many other top managers. We won't get that again. The next manager will be coming for the money simple as that.
I think Amorim has blown it. Slots quotes are engineered to get Feynood to lower their compensation claim. Or he is making it clear to his current club he wants to go to LFC.
Adam I think you may something here that Amorim may have 24/48 hours, but being said I think Liverpool already made their decision after Joyce article publicly named Slot as favourite. Knowing how FSG operate with Edwards they are ruthless and don't look back on things.
I believe once Liverpool said, no to Amorim’s demand, they won’t go back to him a second time

The next Liverpool's manager saga is another factor which contributes to Shakey performance of the players. Klopp poisoned their mind when he declared his intentions of quitting the job too early. The new coach will have an initial tough challenge of erasing the strong attachments players had with klopp.

Amorim had his chance. And now Slot has openly declared his desire for the job, I think / want Slot to get it. We all deserve to get paid what we think we are worth but LFC have a strict policy on wages and should stick to their morales. Let’s get behind Slot 👌🏽

Adam, if we take Slot over Amorim just looking at their win percentages we'd be taking second best. But looking at the current title challenge, maybe second (or third) best is the limit of our capabilities. I'm worried we're going to price ourselves out of the best manager available.

From what I understand, FSG are too far down the pike to backtrack now, even if Amorim says yes to their terms. They'd look like absolute sheisters if they pull out of the Slot deal now. It's all down to Amorim or his agent that his appointment has fallen through. It's left a bitter taste - if all the reports are true btw. He's come across as greedy and grasping. Not potential LFC material at all. Oh well.

Sporting - the second biggest club in Portugal in number of supporters - won very little in the last many decades and now with Amorim will win 2 national championships in 3 years, in the year Benfica had be biggest investment ever. That's a major acomplishment. So I'm not sure about "1st major job". Also, I'm a Benfica fan, so please take him away 😀
