    The cammer at 1:41 is equally at fault as the driver who pulled out because he was driving in the turn lane, before it became the left turn only lane. I highly doubt that the police found the driver of the sedan completely at fault.

      @@yolowolfyt There is a difference between using the middle lane to turn left or right ((depend on the side you are on)) to cross, but in this case, the cammer was riding that middle lane to reach the turning lane. Cammer could have been at fault here as well because they were improperly using that middle lane to reach that turning lane. You can even see where the line splits to allow those in the direction the cammer was going to naturally go into the turn lane. People need to stop thinking the middle lane is a free zone to drive in to reach a turn lane if traffic is backed up or situations what happened to the cammer and the other driver could happen.

    Their needs to be way harsher penalties for drunk drivers and people who drive without a license or insurance!

    • @infomase
      @infomase 6 месяцев назад +27

      (European here) Harsher penalties won’t keep these people out of the roads. The reason why the US have so much drunk / elderly / disabled drivers is simple : most of the time these people have no other option… If they had access to reliable public transit, they would never choose to drive, and the roads would be way safer for all the other people who **are** able to drive. The youtube channel @flurfdesign makes a good job explaining this from an american perspective (I recommend you watch their video titled “Road Safety is NOT your responsibility”, they discuss drunk driving from 5:30).

    • @LeScratch89
      @LeScratch89 5 месяцев назад +9

      @@infomase It needs to be both. Attitudes in the US are different compared to Europe too; it's not solely the lack of transit infrastructure, though that exacerbates it. There's an enormous amount of "ownership thought" for lack of better description in the US, particularly regarding roadways and motor vehicles. You can't adjust that attitude with transit options alone; there's great bus transit and taxi options in my city but people still drive drunk, disabled, and beyond what their age should allow. Because they think they have the right to, rather than a duty to their own (and others') safety.

    Last month, I witnessed an idiot in a car during my driving training with a family member as the instructor. Unfortunately, the car did not have a dashcam so I can only describe it here.
    So, a few seconds after I got out onto the main road, I saw a white Honda van in my mirror. He was riding my ass despite there being student driver stickers on the car I was driving. I was driving on a road with double solid yellow lines. After about a minute, he illegally passes me and starts speeding down the road, I think at least 5 or 10 over the speed limit. 2 minutes later, I catch up to the van, who is now stopped at a red light. As I apply my brakes to stop, he runs the red light and is stopped behind a brown car. Traffic had stopped for the bridge since it was open. As the light turns green and I go through it, I witness the Honda van go around the brown car and cut in front of him.
    Why did he cut in front of the brown car? To get into a church parking lot. On a Friday. 😑
