Off-cut probably from Novelis, since that is probably a First World site, and being treated for ' exhaust ' and ' dust extraction ' and ' fume extraction ', and so on, meaning that they are treating that for its off-cut status. Exacting buggers. Perfectionists.

This looks like a waste of machinery. A HUGE waste. Why go through all of this packaging when the cans should just go directly to a melting refinery?

Hi. Thanks for your comment. Impact's scrap collection and handling solutions are designed in conjunction with our customer's requirements to support their sustainability and recycling commitments. And quite simply, the can making process wouldn't be able to operate without the scrap metal and whole reject cans being collected by Impact's system. As you can see from the video, the scrap metal is collected, baled and stacked in a particular way to improve transportation efficiency and it is then sent to the melting refinery. I hope that helps explain the need for the system for you. If you would like any further information, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Thanks.
