Obviously they are all great artists. I’ve seen David Chan many times at the Met, as well as soloist at Bard College in the Beethoven Violin, under Luisi. So what is the reason for Maestro Bowman to take over half of the concertmaster duties at the Met? Is it political? Or does it give Chan the opportunity to pursue more solo projects?
