    It's Q210, but it's indeed truly a northbound (Cayce SC to Louisville KY). Here, we simply call all trains "southbounds" that go in the direction of Atlanta (most of those trains are actually southbounds).

      Thanks. It depends. Sometimes there is a sequence of trains, but then there are also periods with nothing going on for hours.

    39:00 are they allowed to ride with the doors open like that?

    Are you able to guesstimate how fast these trains typically go through there?

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  4 года назад +2

      Track speeds in this area are 45-50 mph.

    Hallo mbmars 01 .Ich finde eure Videos sehr gut . An der Brücke , am Anfang ,hat sich schon mancher LKW aufgehangen . Mir Gefallen die Aufnahmen Flach über den Boden , den Zug und die Trasse . Und das bei vollen Betrieb, Der Sound rundet das Gesammtbild ab !

    WHy were you trying to follow that same long mix manifest freight train ?

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  8 лет назад

      +The Explore Master Haha, why not? I like to watch the same train at various locations. It is also good for the video, in particular if one missed a nice detail during the first encounter.

    • @gy1952
      @gy1952 8 лет назад

      Okay because usually it's hard to do stuff like that.

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  8 лет назад

      +The Explore Master You're right. Train chasing is quite a bit of a challenge at times.

  • @tylercorbin8073
    @tylercorbin8073 6 лет назад

    24:53 why would he have to blow the horn when a train is already on the tracks

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  6 лет назад

      Blowing the horn is a safety measure. It's written in the railroad's rule book when they have to blow the horn and which pattern of sounds.

    • @tylercorbin8073
      @tylercorbin8073 6 лет назад

      mbmars01 I agree on the safety but it’s obvious that no car is going to try to cross

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  6 лет назад

      I understand your logic, but keep in mind that some crossings are located behind curves or are obstructed otherwise. They simply don't have different rules for different situations (it would be too complicated). Having said that, some towns have actually introduced quiet zones, where trains don't blow the horn anymore.

    • @tylercorbin8073
      @tylercorbin8073 6 лет назад

      mbmars01 Now I have to say there should no quiet zones people can be stupid, but I understand people don’t like “noise” lol

    • @mbmars01
      @mbmars01  6 лет назад

      Quiet zones are an annoyance for railfans lol

      Often due to 'riders' breaking into the cars
