Hi, i think we’re on the same age! I am also leading a small group as well and I’m also going through some things lol. I would like to connect with u if you dont mind.
Jessica Gabor, Congratulations on stepping up to the plate and learning to lead others. What a great time to start developing your leadership skills. Your leaps and bounds ahead of most adults in there 30s and40s.
Karl El how do you start the bible study? I want to start one with my friends and i have some people that would want to start involving in it, but i don’t know how to start. Should we start reading a book from the bible and then discuss the topic or what do you do?
The Point pray about it. Topics might be good, though if God is leading you a book might be nice. If so, do a shorter book so that you can be done with it fast, and then you'll grow cause people will be like 'yo, we just got a book done, let's do another'!
- The primary goal of a small group leader in leading an effective Bible study conversation is to create a conversational environment. - Being an active listener is crucial, where the leader must visually show that they are listening to others by maintaining eye contact and using body language to convey engagement. - The leader should initiate an Icebreaker to encourage interaction and not skip it, even if some group members may be hesitant. - Setting up chairs in a circle is important to facilitate eye contact and interaction among group members during the discussion. - Communication within the group typically progresses through four stages: small talk, sharing facts, discussing ideas and opinions, and eventually sharing feelings. The leader should encourage this progression to build trust and authenticity within the group.
Random, I am from Minnesota and have always lived here. Somehow I have always been a Bengals fan. I am here cause I'm leading a group discussion for work tomorrow but it blew my mind that you talked about the Bengals. Well when this video was shot, Marvin Lewis was coach, now it's Zac Taylor. I wouldn't have agreed that Marv was the worst but I do think Zac Taylor might be now that Adam Gase was fired haha. Random stuff. Thanks for the video btw
AMAZING and concise video! One question: you mentioned that 'many ideas can circle the runway, but the leader's job is to make sure the TRUTH of God lands.' If an idea(s) begin to circulate that aren't being clearly communicated by God's word, how, as a leader, do you lovingly yet confidently correct your brothers and sisters in that situation? Without hurting their feelings or making them feel like the group isn't a safe and welcoming place to share their ideas? Starting a young adults bible study, and this is an obstacle that honestly stresses me out a little bit! If anyone has an answer, let me know. Thank you!
Replying to the request for addressing something circling that scripture does not seem to support: as the group leader I would and usually do suggest that we table that thought until next meeting and have the group do a little Bible digging to see what they can find on that and do it my self. It makes for good studying encouragement and a desire to grow in getting an understanding. If time permit- we can do it in current session. Sometimes you might say let's see what the Scriptures have to say about that and go from there. Everybody get enlightened. Hope that helps.
John 3:16 [16]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 [1]Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2]By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3]For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4]And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
I am 17 years old and I started a small group realizing, I do not know what I am doing here. This is helping so much.

What do you think about gluttonous small group leaders?
We’re all sinners, that’s why we look to Jesus as a group
Avoid "i think" and "I feel" statement.
Marvin Lewis WASN’T the greatest. Lol thanks for this content!
* Doesn’t believe in global warming*😂😂😂 omg 😭😭😭
Thank you
