It's really nice to see a true craftsman at work. I know some prefer to wax the sole of the hand planes, while others say it's not needed. What routine do you use to maintain your hand planes?
I just read your comment. Sorry for not replying. I use was when I think about it. I think it is a good practice. I try to keep some oil ( very light ) on the planes on an occasional basis. I am working on trying to get complete set of plans and videos to document this project.
