      Ubisoft today is terrible. But they made so many great games back in the day. My earliest experiences playing online was playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Rainbow Six Vegas. The early Splinter Cell games were awesome. Heck even the early Assassin's Creed games used to be a lot of fun. Just makes me sad that this is what they've turned into.

      @@JaceyMitchell that is me with Naughty Dog and Insomniac. Both had a hand in makings games I whiled hours away on during the PS1 and PS2 era. But they have lost the plot, and loyalty is a two-way thing. They are not the companies I once loved and as far as I’m concerned they are a dying faction-like with Wigs. I’m not happy about it, but they had plenty of chances to avoid this and they didn’t. Instead they opted to side with pinkos and activists. So I will gladly leave them for dead.

What was worse that in response to the backlash by gamers (all around the world) Ubisoft promised to put 'more white guys' ... in the Medieval Japan Assassin's creed. WTH? If they don't see why rampant race swapping is offensive, then I have nothing to say to them.

      You're not alone in this as they put Yasuke as the lead to pander to black folks like me. And we're not okay with that, but our words fall on deaf ears, because Ubisoft is trying to appeal to the portion of our community with insecurities about their skin color.

    • @Frankie2012channel
      @Frankie2012channel 2 месяца назад +9

       @DemonicRemption Absolutely! The same with Hollywood. When I heard JJ Abrams was doing a WW2 movie (I heard later it was a zombie movie) "Overlord" and that it had a black lead actor in it, I was initially excited. Finally, someone was going to depict the real life Black units that took part in the invasion of France. Their stories are never told and no one knows who they are. 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion or the 761st Tank Battalion, 92nd infantry Division, etc, Did that happen? Noooooooo. 🙄Rather they racswapped Black characters into historically all white units (101st AB), totally ignoring the racial segregation of the time period. Anyone’s ancestors who had to overcome societal prejudice and thrive, is essentially being erased from history, and all we’re getting is this weird racial mashup which actually insults the real people of color who lived during these times. This is lazy and it’s woke. I’d rather see an original story about a ‘minority’ hero that has real cultural respect than random race swapping for the sake of being ‘progressive’. Thank you for your post!

      I never imagined a person of Japanese descent would ever teach me about any aspect of my people's history that isn't taught in American Academia. Thanks for letting me know that the red tails weren't the "all black" unit to have fought in WWII. But I digress as I don't blame your frustration, because as you just demonstrated our people have their own fascinating pieces of history, yet JJ Abrams appealed to that portion of my people who are insecure about their skin color. But that wasn't the only audience as people like Abrams have a limited understanding of black people that they stick to so they won't alienate their wealthy peers.
      And from where I'm sitting it's by design, as they'd have to research a culture and Ethnicities that aren't their own and get a better understanding of them. They don't want to do that as they'd risk alienating their peers and the insecure individuals. In short they're appealing a small but loud minority of people. But hey, they pay the most...

      Takashi Okazaki's Afro Samurai for example is such a cool black fictional character using Katana, they should've rather made an Assassin's Creed with him in the main role and not some historic knave who they elevate to Samurai status while telling everyone it's historical accurate. The "historical accuracy" they constantly claim when they are "in Abstergo" "reliving the past" has been dropped from the franchise luckily ages ago already.

    Ubisoft turned Heroes into mobile guild wars microtransaction nonsense with Era of Chaos banking on HOMM3 nostalgia and they haven't even released a proper mainline Might & Magic entry, let alone a proper new entry into the Heroes offshoot I've loved since 1997, in years. Frankly, I saw the writing on the wall once they let Rabbids usurp Rayman the same way Skylanders usurped Spyro and Minions usurped Despicable Me.

      @@autobotstarscream765 Even if Raving Rabbids predates Despicable Me and its Minions and even though I agree with your opinion that Gru is definitely funnier than the Minions and Ubisoft in charge of M&M is an excessively dumb idea (IMO on the order of allowing Enix to control Final Fantasy, which still unfortunately also happened), that doesn't change the fact that Ubisoft was still allowed to make insipid (and frankly anti-consumer) game design and publishing decisions fairly unchecked both internally and by the gaming public at large for decades until now for almost the same reasons EA's gotten passes for FIFA and Battlefront and Activision's gotten passes for Call of Duty, WOW, Diablo, and Overwatch.
