Thanks Riley. That's a great idea for a video. I'll add that to the list for videos to do next year. Wedding was wonderful. I appreciate you leaving a comment.
Thanks Linda. I appreciate you taking the tour and leaving such a kind comment. Yes, when I see the beauty, it reminds me why I spend time working on it.
Wow you are going to be very busy today! You are so calm about it all, I’d be shouting orders to do this and do that, I always do before a party. Very beautiful garden, I’m sure it would look that good even if you weren’t having a venue. You can tell how much you love doing it.
Thank you Barbara. I was calm then but I can assure you I did shout a few orders - but I had a detailed list of what needed to be done and when. I only had to should when guests were close to arriving and the drinks were not on ice yet! Once that was done, it was a great weekend filled with love and special moments. Thanks for taking the tour.
Wonderful Yannie. Living close to Toronto, you know each year has been different than the last - too much water - not enough water. Windy. Too hot. Too cool. I was worried with the long cold spring we had, if the plants would ever grow. Such a great summer this year. Happy gardening.
Jo-Ann Blondin I know exactly what you mean. It has definitely been interesting with the way our weather has been. The past two summers my area has been hit with Japanese beetles. Other than that this gardening season has been amazing. Thanks again for your wonderful videos!
Hi Jo-Ann your garden Is so Beautiful. Your flowers are very Healthy . What a nice a rd too have a Victorian Tea Party. Thank you for sharing. So until next time God Bless you and have a Wonderful Evening. 👒👒
Thanks Joan. Oh, now you have me dreaming of doing a Victorian Tea Party right in the garden. That would be so lovely. Thanks for taking the tour this month. Happy gardening.
Hi..my name is Carolina. I live in San Diego... Just I want to say: Congratulations...you have an amazing garden..beautiful. I would like to have at least a little garden....and you are my inspiration!
Thanks Carolina. San Diego is a great place to have a garden. Start small so you know what works in your area. Suggest you start with pots as you can get good soil and your local garden store can suggest a few plants that grow well in your area. Best wishes for your dream garden.
Thanks Luweeh. I used to say that too. It is possible. Start with a pot filled with flowers or herbs. Start small to learn what works and what doesn't. Best wishes on your dream garden becoming a reality.
Thanks Kim. So happy you watched the night footage. I felt a wee bit guilty taking those videos instead of being with the family and the bride and groom who dropped by as a surprise. Your comment made it all worth while. Yes, I do enjoy it. I find it very relaxing. Thanks for watching the tour.
Thanks Luci for joining me on the tour this month. We did compost that apples. I wanted them all away from the seating areas so that wasps would not be attracted to them. We were so lucky that we were almost bug free for the weekend events - except for butterflies.
Love your garden. Everything is beautiful. I've been looking for a wrought iron stand similar to your herb tower. I would love to start a tower with cool weather herbs. Any suggestions
Thank you for taking the tour and for subscribing. Lots of places to rest - though we seldom spend time sitting. There is always a weed or an item that you see when sit down that calls your attention to deal with immediately. Any items you would like me to cover in the tour next month?
Your garden is amazingly beautiful. I love the flowers and color.combination of different plants. I live in.Toronto too, may I ask how you treat the potted plants in winter please? Thanks
Your garden is completely gorgeous and I admire you for giving us a tour of your garden right before your sons prenuptial. I was amaze. I look forward in seeing more of your innovations in your beautiful garden. #JazzyButterflyGarden 🦋
Thanks Marjorie. I had to record the video before everyone got up as we had a full day of items to get ready for the rehearsal party and the wedding the next day. Glad I took the time as it is moment in time on a weekend that went very fast. Thank you for your kind comments.
I love your garden!!! Sooo pretty! Where did you buy you pot obelisks? They look sooo nice!! I went to gardeners supply but did not find the types you have?! Thanks!
Thanks Jennifer for the kind comments. I bought the obelisks at various stores - Winners, Homesense, Canadian Tire, and others - when I see them I buy them. Some of them are 18 years old. I spray painted them all black last year and that was the best decision every so they look planned and part of the overall structure design instead of a mishmash of obelisks.
I loved every view of your beautiful garden. Please tell us the name of the climbing black eye Susan plant. I had one years ago, but it didn't survive. Has yours come back each year?
I would love to know how many plants you planted in each big planters, as I just don't know how many to plant so I get the same lush effect. Even just an estimate on the balcony planters would be really helpful. (I live in Australia and am just about to start planting up my pots). You have the most beautiful garden I've ever seen!
Thanks Bella. For the brown pots on the upper deck, I did 3 Vista supertunia and one mandevilla. For the ones on the back deck I did 4 Vista supertunia and one mandeville because they would be viewed on all sides. Mandevilla was in the centre. I'll cover that off in the September video. So excited for you to be planting now. Happy gardening.
I paid in Canadian dollars about $15 per mandevilla and $5 per Vista Supertunia. So about $30 per pot. And they are still doing amazing 4 months later.
Haha Ruby - thanks for remembering that. I decided I would make it all. Several people were gluten and dairy intolerant so making it allowed all the food to meet the dietary requirements for everyone without anyone feeling left out. Wedding and events should make everyone feel included and loved.
Wow! everything looks so so good! What do you do with your hens and chicks planters when winter comes ? where do you store them ? who maintains your garden... your garden looks like a full time job.... I just love it !
Thanks Alexandra. So happy you look for an update as they come out. I'll be recording this month shortly so let me know if there is anything you would like me discuss.
Where did you get the ball lights from? Are they battery operated or plugged in? Also, do you have to cover or mulch all of the perennials in the winter? Liked the video and will check out your other videos! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you! The balls I bought separately and they open. I added battery operated fairy lights. I'll show more it this month in the next video so be sure to watch it. I leave the perennials as is - no need in this hardiness zone to cover them.
That is gorgeous, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful space! At minute 14:33 by your front door, What kind of vine is that with the yellow blooms?
Thanks for taking the tour. It is called Thunbergia alata, or commonly called black-eyed Susan vine. Likes the shade with some morning or afternoon sun for blooms.
You have great success with your succulents. Do you bring them in for the winter. Amazing how beautiful northern gardens do. Tfs cheers going to be a new subscriber
Thanks Victoria for leaving a comment and subscribing. Yes, I do bring the succulents in but leave the hens and chicks in the garage. The true succulents can't take the cold. I change the soil when I bring them in so I avoid bugs coming along for the inside vacation.
HI Ruby. The stone pavers were put in 1998 so I no longer have the details on them. They were from Unilock. I looked on their website and didn't see them as an option. Most people now use square or rectangular designs but you can have them install a circle. Also, try googling "pink stone pavers patio circles". I saw some on the Home Depot site when I tried that search.
Thanks for pointing that out. I even looked it up. It is fine to say "this one" but the plural is just "these". I hope I catch myself before I repeat it next month. Thanks for taking the tour and leaving a comment.
I think we as gardeners notice things in our own space that NOBODY notices but us. Lol. You space is amazing
Very nice! I love all the flowers and color! Reminds me a lot of our garden in Minnesota.
Beautiful garden house ☑️

Oh, I forgot to mention this... Compost the apples or just bury under the mulch!
Thanks Luci for joining me on the tour this month. We did compost that apples. I wanted them all away from the seating areas so that wasps would not be attracted to them. We were so lucky that we were almost bug free for the weekend events - except for butterflies.

Wah indah banget!!,
What stone like pavers are in front of your house? Thnx.

Very beautiful. I would like to point out how many times you say "these ones"... the correct grammar would be "these".
Correct
"A Birth of a Homestead" haha... I’m trying teach my children the same things😅. We laugh and then try harder....
Thanks for pointing that out. I even looked it up. It is fine to say "this one" but the plural is just "these". I hope I catch myself before I repeat it next month. Thanks for taking the tour and leaving a comment.
