Basically sonic kinda cheated on Amy so Amy basically doesn't need him anymore or it was a misunderstanding but at the same time it wasn't a misunderstanding cause when Sally sang sonic blushed a little that made Amy believe that he doesn't like her anymore so she was texting someone and talking about a date which made sonic cry and not gonna lie it's kinda confusing if sonic cheated on Amy or Amy cheated on sonic. @@cojosox8211 No, she wanted to start a new beginning by forgetting Sonic because Amy always chased after Sonic, but he never looked at her so Amy wanted to forget Sonic start a new beginning and chase her own dreams. As for Sonic, he just happened to see Sally's phone on the way, and when he saw the chat history between Sally and Khan, and because of that he realised that he was getting cheated on.
