Congrats Houston from a Spirit fan. Dont let anyone tell you it wasnt deserved. And hats off to the league for pulling this all off successfully. Remember... the women did it first...
Spirit Fan here too, rooting for the Dash after the Spirit were out. Great tournament! Well run and well covered by CBS.
Great job Houston
And great job NWSL for showing how to properly run a tournament during the pandemic
The future looks bright now for with that lineup it will be almost impossible to beat Dash. Groom, Daly, Mewis, Prince; Chapman + that brick wall defense... Solid, bright, and fast. This teams has it all now.
I can guarantee they are going to be beaten
Campbell will lose you games. She almost did today diving punching that ball to the wide open Chicago player who can only direct it off the post. The defense that let in 0 goals in the knockout stage is the same defense that let in 2 against Sky Blue and 3 to Utah. You have a lot of good pieces and are playing well together as a team, I do hope you can keep it going with an off season, with the potential to lose talent to Louisville, injuries, and possibly to Europe like Mewis. More good teams is better for the league. Keep it up Houston! I look forward to seeing you in your first playoff soon if you,can keep this up.
Really good match in a really well ran tournament. Congratulations Dash for winning the cup👏🏻🧡and congratulations to the NWSL for putting on a great tournament👏🏻👍🏻
I am Really excited with Houston Dash win......One of my favorite teams. I always believed in Daly. Congrats Dash :) (:
"She find the back of the net, just not with the ball." Nice line :)
*Congrats to Houston Dash!!*
All these angry Houston haters/anti-Houston supporters: “they get a asterisk because it’s not a full season and they didn’t play the best team, North Carolina. Plus, they don’t have USWNT players like the other clubs in the league.” Me: rolls eyes 🙄
I'm just happy that Houston got their first Championship. And not North Carolina or Portland winning again
If you have problems with those people I suggest you take it up with them, none of them are here in this comment section.
Well daly is an English national team player. They deserve all the cred
they have Kristie no?
H-Town baby!! I was born in that lovely town. Congrats ladies!! Well done👍
Congratulations to the underdogs. Team work.
Makes the dream work
I watched this live while at the gym, girls were spitting all over the place, cbs did a great job editing it out.
(18:16) The Houston Dash must all have relocated to the East end of London, then. Rachel Daly now plays there for West Ham Women in the UK.
I am happy for Dash win....but also sad for Julie Ertz (my favorite tiger) and Alyssa Naeher (the champ)
And the Stadium is packed!
Sophie Smidt has a league cup AND a gold medal, a queen
I'm so so happy for my team. Just wish Watt was still with the Dash. She did so much here.
Thank you CBS and thank you NWSL.
Let’s go Htown!
I agree that the first penalty probably could have been let go, but I also think it was poor judgment by Sharples to risk a penalty in the box in this instance. Mewis was close enough to the end line that she didn't have much of a target anymore, Naeher was in position, and another defender was coming back to cover the middle.
It probably was about just how much of an unneeded risk in that play. Also she went after Mewis soley, not even after the ball. Sharples is young, she'll learn how to play physically without fouling.
Stop putting the score in the title or on the video image. It kills the mystery.
I feel bad for, Julie.
Feel bad for Kealia Ohai-Watt too.
@@bullhorn14 shes a world champion, dont feel bad her.
Yesterday, her dirty play wouldnt payed.
Thank you for upload
Damn, I wish Boston Breakers were still a club, this was so fun to watch
Weirdly Enough, I have wondered too, why the Kraft family, doesn’t want to own and operate an NWSL team, that Boston would go batshit crazy over. They don’t even have to use Gillette Stadium, just use the training grounds...
Felicitaciones Houston Dash. Go H-Town
👏👏👏 one time for the #underdawgz ...☝ Congrats!
Campbell, Groom and Mewis definitely got to be on national team roster after this performance.
Yes!
I supported both teams throughout. Was just mad Sharples (2nd game she's starting) pulled K Mewis down in the box, what's the point of that? Also the injury, so I'm glad Houston got the PK.
Congrats Houston. Too bad North Carolina didn't make it
Zu Beginn eines jeden Spiels würde ich Bianca St. Georges erst mal provisorisch eine gelbe Karte geben. Für jedes Trikotziehen, Armziehen.
Zum Glück hat die richtige Mannschaft gewonnen.
Go redstars
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Dear CBS Sports,.....why did you waste the time airing these games on National TV?,.......Saturday and Sunday,...what a waste,...nobody is watching this cerap!
I hoped they would act like adults, but I turned it off when they knelt for the Nation Anthem. I'm done with this league
Bye, bye! Don't let the door hitcha on the way out.

Bye-bye. They won't care about one person.
so sad these women can play in the USA and make thousands of dollars because we know they don't make millions that why they're asking for equal pay and then kneel when the national anthem is played it's disgusting
The second goal was offside
If you mean offside, no it wasn’t frame by frame about 17:17 Groom was onside.
No it was not: imgur.com/a/CH2nKsv
*The player was offside. The defender raised her hands to indicate that the forward was offside, to no avail.*
@@Ralph_Smith0724 the defender raised her hand hoping the refs would bail her out. No one had the pace needed to track down Groom. Chicago pushed so far up the field as a team to increase their chances to get a late equalizer. This can lead you vulnerable to well timed runs and well placed through balls such as what lead to the second goal.
She literally wasn't you can rewatch the real time clip. That goal was due to Chicagos high press, they knew it was a risky and Houston was able to penalize them for that. Shea Groom is very fast. Look at where she is when Daly passes it, clearly onsides.
*The player who scored the second goal was clearly offside. That referee always screws up. She disallowed a USWNT goal against Chile in a friendly game a couple of years ago.*
If you can't see it at live speed watch at .25 speed. When Daly makes her last touch passing the ball into space for Groom to run on to it, Groom is onside. The goal was correctly allowed.
Sorry, Shea was clearly onside..I watched the replay multiple times, and Shea was clearly behind the Chicago player.
She was clearly onside(love tv camera angles) and(coming from a college goalie) that goal was mostly a bad judgement from Alyssa. If she had stayed in her box she probably would have had a better chance at getting it.
both goals were questionable n i dont have a dog in the fight ... the penalty was ticky tacky ..u dont call tht in a championship match n the 2nd goal wasnt even close she was off....smh
If you run frame by frame at 17:17 to 17:18 you can see Groom is onside when the pass is made.
No it was not offside ref: imgur.com/a/CH2nKsv
@@danwindows7 I screen grabbed it ur right she was on .... at full speed she looked way off...lol..screen cap below...

good no call....all in all good game ....still didnt like the PK... lol
@@dslam1680 I mean you leave yourself exposed to the call as a defender if you outstretch those arms into the opponent's back, but yes the PK was soft. There looked to be barely any force. I have no qualms with your analysis there.
The penalty was probably due to them having other options. Ertz was ready to take over and Alyssa was in position, but because Sharples is young she continued to press Mewis when at the angle there was no way she should get the ball. It was just a young player being a young player. But even just watching Houston's performance they still deserved the win imo.
