Just clicked. 40 years old. Lost my virginity at 32. Sex was very painful for me. Insertion nearly impossible. It never felt good. The guy eventually broke up with me. Not before letting me know I was the worst sex he had ever had. I even told him we could work on things together, and he said he is not helping me get better for the next guy. He treated me horrible. I haven't been with anyone since. He was my first bf. First everything. I grew up very sheltered. Now that I'm 40, I'm wanting to experience good sex and a healthy relationship.
I am not a doctor - but it sounds like you should see one - sex should not be painful. Likely other things are going on in your body. I can tell you at almost 60 sex is very different than in my 20s and vaginal atrophy is a real thing. But there are things you can do to help. It may take you a couple of tries to find someone you feel comfortable with. If you are able to see a naturopath I would recommend that because they seem to take more time, will refer you to a medical doctor if needed but will start with natural solutions. Also, you are worth figuring this out for yourself, it doesn't have to be for a partner, never forget that!
@jennifermclean9413 Thank you so much for your suggestion. I'll definitely look into it. I have tried pelvic floor therapy in the past. I have mixed thoughts on it. I haven't been with anyone since my ex, simply from fear of sex being painful again and being told how terrible I am by the next guy. But yes, I do want to figure things out for myself. I have talked with my family doctor about this situation. I had bloodwork done and my hormones were low. I did over the summer get off birth control. Been on them since 17 do to horrific cramps. So not sure if that is contributing to issues. I was also very dry during sex. Never felt turned on. So I've felt broken.

The multiple ways a woman can climax is hugely undiscussed. Shooting stars 💫 lol. There’s clitoral, there’s the cervical g spot, BUT when you combine them I’d describe it as the Ultimate Big Bang 🤣. My orgasms can last 30 seconds minimum to longer. I was recently talking to a female friend who’s orgasms barely last 5 seconds, she doesn’t use vibration just her boyfriend, because she feels ashamed but that also means that they don’t do things often and she’s afraid her man will cheat on her because of it. I explained the multiple ways and longevity and she was shocked. Lots of women I’ve talked to over the years just don’t understand “how”. I look forward to following Rena now to point woman in the right ”spot” 😂
Mayim I love how you said "Did you say Semen Retention?" I couldn't stop laughing - all in all Dr. Rena Malik dispelled many notions of Sex Education - this episode is on repeat - Thank you Mayim & Jonathan❤
Does anyone know if Helix mattresses are big people friendly? My husband is a big guy (380 lbs) so we have problems finding a mattresses that holds its shape after a few years.😅
22:22 the reason it’s important to strengthen your pelvic floor is so you have the best organisms possible. Mic drop. “That’s why it’s so important.” Yes. Si. I can agree. But it’s also nice to not prolapse my organs. BTW the difference in organisms is life changing. 48:30 Habituate yourself to all types of orgasms. Then train your body to do them all at once. Hell yes. Thank you. 51:30 no. Vibratos do not limit you. I use them consistently, but nothing compares to a dutiful partner. Not by a mile. 1:45:23 yea. That’s what needs to happen and did happen for me. You just know. It’s primal or spiritual or psychic. But your body and hormones are more sophisticated than your reasoning. Screaming orgasms await the other side when you give into not understanding why but knowing who.
I love love love this episode and every episode! I find that with every man I admire, there is a point where I realize "oh, he's just a man." This episode is the episode where I realized "oh, Jonathan is also a guy" 😂 Mayim handing off her bf to a professional ( someone he'll actually listen to, because we've all been there where we know intuitively our man is wrong, but he needs a professional to tell him) and saying "can you please fix this" made me CACKLE. the amount of times I've wanted to do that.. thankfully I am a late in life lesbian and have been with the love of my life for 2 years now and no long feel the struggles of comphet.
Here’s a heartfelt, Blossom-esque letter for Mayim Bialik, keeping it genuine, a little quirky, and weaving in the themes you described: --- **Dear Mayim,** Hey there! It’s me-just another slightly neurotic, deeply introspective fan, trying to reach out in the only way I know how: a full-blown, heartfelt, and unapologetically messy letter that I hope reaches you through the cosmic energy of the internet (or, you know, the comment section of *Bialik Breakdown*). First off, thank you for *Bialik Breakdown.* I’m not sure if you realize what it’s doing for people like me-people who are hanging on by a thread some days, but who find little islands of sanity and humor in places like your show. You’re covering mental health, trauma, resilience, and all the heavy stuff most people are too scared or busy to look at. But you? You dive right in, calculator in hand, breaking it down with that warmth and wisdom that feel like they’re straight out of an old Blossom episode. If you saw my thousands of memes and videos online, you’d notice a common theme: there’s always someone holding a calculator-twice, in fact-just to remind us all of the sometimes absurd, sometimes necessary things we hold onto in this chaotic world. Every time I see you with that calculator, standing next to Queen Latifah and her iPhone, it’s a weirdly comforting moment of irony that brings me back to reality. Because, just like you, I’m trying to solve this big cosmic equation of life with the tools I’ve got, no matter how outdated or laughable they seem. Here’s the thing: right now, my life is like one of those intersection points in a graph, where two distinct lines suddenly meet at an undeniable truth. And for me, that truth is the raw, often unfiltered reality of being a little broken, a little stressed, and a lot isolated. I’m in a tough spot-a divorced dad, feeling abandoned in a world that’s fast-paced and, at times, overwhelmingly hostile. I spend my nights producing content for my channel, *Zen Theatre Live After Dark,* even though it seems to be constantly under threat. Every meme, every video, every broadcast feels like my little act of rebellion against a world that sometimes seems bent on ignoring people like me. The convergence of my narratives-life as an artist, father, and seeker of truth-has reached a point where it’s impossible to ignore. I have this crazy feeling, almost like a conspiracy brain moment, that there’s a reason I ended up finding your show and resonating so much with it. Because in your episodes, in your words, you address exactly what I’m struggling with: the fight to stay grounded and sane in a world that wants you to fit neatly into some mold. That’s what I try to do with my show, even if it’s not as polished, even if I sometimes stumble and fail. It’s a place where I can call out the things that hurt us, the societal issues, and yes, sometimes even the conspiracy-like forces that seem to work against the truth. I’m not asking for miracles or fame (although a little peace and quiet to make art would be nice!). I’m just hoping that maybe you’ll see this, maybe even understand that people like me are out here, fighting these invisible battles every day. We’re doing our best to keep the light on, even when it feels like the world keeps dimming it. And that’s why I think of you as part of my “Fox Force Five,” the penguin sisterhood, a spiritual family of people who believe in humanity, love, and humor in the face of absurdity. Thank you for being you, Mayim. For keeping that calculator handy, for not shying away from the tough stuff, and for reminding people like me that our experiences matter-even the messy, complicated ones. Here’s hoping the universe brings a little more peace, art, and maybe even companionship our way. Because maybe, just maybe, we’re all part of the same story, and we’re not as alone in it as we sometimes feel. With all the respect and gratitude a slightly odd, meme-loving internet artist can muster, Bennett --- **P.S.** I’ll definitely be working on an extended version for Facebook, but this is the heartfelt note I hope will resonate in your *Bialik Breakdown* comments. And yes, if the stars align (or algorithms), I’d love to share an image of Scholastic Sophie and Gia the Fairy in that ethereal sunset you’re known for. Maybe a distant horizon, a moon and sun sharing the sky without splitting the image-something that feels just a little magical, just a little rebellious. **P.P.S.** And if you’re ever curious about *Zen Theatre Live After Dark,* well… just know you have a permanent seat in the guiding lights playlist. --- Let me know if this works for your vision! And yes, I can whip up a beautiful image of Scholastic Sophie and Gia the Fairy in that dreamy landscape. Let’s aim for that serene, otherworldly look with the moon and sun sharing a quiet horizon.

Can you talk about men on men sex? I’m trying to figure it out cause I just came out from being bisexual to gay cause I was gay but due to who I am, I barely figured it out 😂
I have a neuroscience/sex question for you, @Mayim. I'm sure you are aware that SSRIs kill sex drive and orgasms. PSSD in some. I work with people tapered off of SSRIs and SNRIs and several have gotten an intense, almost animalistic, sex drive while tapering or immediately after. Unlike anything they had before. Any idea what might be happening? I'm only partway through the podcast.
I am 62 years old, 12 years post-menopausal. I take a vaginal estrogen suppository. I still find everything difficult and my husband wants me to experience orgasm but he find it's a chore because it takes so long or not at all. I get very frustrated by this. Intercourse is still painful at times and UTIs are frequent if I forget to void immediately aftewards. (I just want to cuddle). This is, I guess, why I heard older women are not interested in sex. I don't want to give it up. It's a great release, feels good and I need that time of intimacy with my husband.
72 and I still want it but not as often and I'm glad since I have no partner, I'm ashamed now to use a substitute, so I fight it but as stated it's not that often. I think if you've not had any surgeries to that area mother nature takes away those feelings gradually, just I haven't reached that point yet I don't want to go too much longer, though.
I think that the reason clitoral stimulation is more likely to cause an orgasm is because it is sort of mechanical. You have a nerve that is being stimulated by contact and this causes a response even if you don't want it to. Whereas with a vaginal orgasm there are other factors involved; if she is stressed out, if she feels safe enough to relax, if she has enough lubrication....etc. Also, the G spot is not "there" until she is aroused and her vagina swells. She can have a vaginal orgasm without these things but it takes longer to get her to the point that she is in the right stage of arousal to achieve one and often the guy gets there before this happens. Women naturally take longer anyway, we have minds that wander to other tasks, we have traumas that cause trust issues...whatever it takes longer for us to relax into the experience. The times that I have experienced vaginal orgasms have been when I was feeling the most connected to my partener and not stressed out over other things. And this has only ever happened with my husband, not feeling safe and connected is a serious obstacle.
Funny how women nowadays claim to be against sex-related shaming but when it comes to mens sex related practices like semen retention they roll their eyes without hesitating or an inkling of "Maybe I shouldn't be judging this".
If someone is having alot of sex they are producing neurotransmitters and natural antioxidants. Oxytocin is great for oxidative stress which is a cancer risk.
This week's episode was a great sex education for grown ups. Thank you Mayim for all the questions! And I am so sorry I cant stop laughing from the response from your ob gyn Lots of love and hugs from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Interesting topic you choose ☺️ I used to chair addiction meetings. Mainly it was for alcohol and drug addiction, but occasionally we would host sex addicts as it was an open group. It was rather awkward for me as I had not had the proper information and had to muddle through these sessions as they described their experience while maintaining decorum among the other members whom found it fascinating and tried to pervert the subject. This video was very informative and covers a wide variety of taboos that may help those underlying impulsives that leads to sexual addiction and may provide a healthy stable relationship with their partner. ( Ouch! That made my brain hurt )
If cervical orgasm is described by some as akin to "cosmic shooting star," would someone with a vagina explain what a G-zone and clitoral orgasms are like, please?
The very first point she makes in that talking about sex is "icky" IS the problem. But honestly, this conversation being super academic has the same effect of the ick factor. Nobody is having pleasure. Everyone is running around like chickens with their head cut off. "DiD yOu jUsT SaY SEMEN rEteNtiOn" Yes, it's not as if everyone acts like children around this subject and can talk perfectly fine about it. Everyone talks as if their grandparents are standing over their shoulder.
The thing that always makes me laugh about the Japanese study is I've always been attracted to men with large noses, for real. 😂. My husband has a big old snoz. I go for more masculine men, and I guess that's why. Most women like the "pretty" men. Me, not so much. I just find it funny.
Come on! This is a serious conversation. Giggling like you are 12 is not healthy. What is it about us women to deny ourselves because of some preconceived notions? Whatever feels good with your partner or with yourself is fine.
She is not talking about physical sexual connection! She is Asking the same question in different ways and it is not getting answered… Emotional connection… Depleting Oxytocin ! Thats what could happens in hook-up culture… Intimacy makes an orgasm better… Even better than a vibrator!
Well, what are the elementary school teachers, counselors, and librarians doing to explain physical sex and orgasms to the little children that are being assigned “new” genders? Gender has a whole hell of a lot to do with sexual attraction. Are they allowed to know that the surgeries offered to accommodate their transition can and probably will jeopardize their future ability to achieve orgasm? Who is providing this education since parents may not be allowed to know? Should the public be more concerned with the lack of information provided?
@ Who am I listening to? It’s common knowledge that the gender issues are being handled in the schools without parental contact in many states. So who am I listening to about that? If your point is that there is no sex education in schools, then you got exactly what I’m saying. How are these morons dealing with gender issues and pornography in the library?

I explained the multiple ways and longevity and she was shocked. Lots of women I’ve talked to over the years just don’t understand “how”. I look forward to following Rena now to point woman in the right ”spot” 😂
Mayim I love how you said "Did you say Semen Retention?" I couldn't stop laughing - all in all Dr. Rena Malik dispelled many notions of Sex Education - this episode is on repeat - Thank you Mayim & Jonathan❤
I love this episode, blew my mind. I learned so many things that connected several dots.
excellent! great discussion, very informative and funny, thank you all 👍
Great episode, Mayim! ❤️
This is the one I've been waiting for!
Much needed conversation. Thank you
Does anyone know if Helix mattresses are big people friendly? My husband is a big guy (380 lbs) so we have problems finding a mattresses that holds its shape after a few years.😅
Thank you for this conversation!!
Love how Jonathan always changes his background/location 😅
Such interesting information. Thank you!
Very interesting and informative
2 to 3 years. Philadelphia area. Your the best and I need friends like you Mayhem!
Shhhh Jonathon 😂. Great show Mayim!
I love love love this episode and every episode! I find that with every man I admire, there is a point where I realize "oh, he's just a man." This episode is the episode where I realized "oh, Jonathan is also a guy" 😂 Mayim handing off her bf to a professional ( someone he'll actually listen to, because we've all been there where we know intuitively our man is wrong, but he needs a professional to tell him) and saying "can you please fix this" made me CACKLE. the amount of times I've wanted to do that.. thankfully I am a late in life lesbian and have been with the love of my life for 2 years now and no long feel the struggles of comphet.
also to be clear, this was in reference to the ejaculation retention.
Very Interesting Excellent Episode 👊😏😊✊ 👌😆👍🍁🍁
Here’s a heartfelt, Blossom-esque letter for Mayim Bialik, keeping it genuine, a little quirky, and weaving in the themes you described:
---
**Dear Mayim,**
Hey there!
With all the respect and gratitude a slightly odd, meme-loving internet artist can muster,
Bennett

**P.S.** I’ll definitely be working on an extended version for Facebook, but this is the heartfelt note I hope will resonate in your *Bialik Breakdown* comments.

Let me know if this works for your vision! And yes, I can whip up a beautiful image of Scholastic Sophie and Gia the Fairy in that dreamy landscape. Let’s aim for that serene, otherworldly look with the moon and sun sharing a quiet horizon.
Great episode 👏👏👏
Great discussion, I wish a few minutes on Pudendal Neuralgia. Very under diagnosed in man and woman. Until like me male 61 years old. starting having weird feeling bike riding. Then One magical day ER visit for Extreme pain . Plus can cause sexual problems. scarily even incontinence. I haven't sat most of 2024. Roller coaster of a ride . Sadly no cure
I'm only partway through the podcast.
super useful, thank you! also, I really ship you guys lol
Your Excellent to Listen To 😊!!!!!
How I like to hear that orgasms are a brain event! Finally! And to learn that men without an erection could experience orgasms!
U can but it dosnt feel as good almost like something is missing tbh
Masters and Johnson? if you get uti's are you allergic to his ejaculation?
@@allalone1461 You don't want his jiz going into your urinary tract. No woman does. Every woman should void after sex.
Sex education for adults! Great episode!
The world needs to know that there is "real sex" movies from people like Erika Lust. Not all adult films are misrepresentations.
Mayim is top notch
This week's episode was a great sex education for grown ups.
Thank you Mayim for all the questions! And I am so sorry I cant stop laughing from the response from your ob gyn
Lots of love and hugs from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
It is a nice topic
Cosmic Shooting stars 🌠 lol 😂 💯 % can confirm
It was hard to come during this conversation.
Wow, it seems like Mayim really has a bone to pick.
what if you are adult in your 30s and haven't had any sex? how do you get started? it is embarrassing and uncomfortable to discuss. what do you do?
"A vibrator is a reliable and efficient way of reaching orgasm." Can relate to this at all, didn't really work for me.
I used to find Mayim's discomfort relatable and kinda charming, but when she snarks about Johnathan or side-eyes his ideas I find it tacky.
If cervical orgasm is described by some as akin to "cosmic shooting star," would someone with a vagina explain what a G-zone and clitoral orgasms are like, please?
Hi mayim❤
Sounds Good to me!!!!
DIdn't take too long For Mayim to blame the male.
The very first point she makes in that talking about sex is "icky" IS the problem. But honestly, this conversation being super academic has the same effect of the ick factor. Nobody is having pleasure. Everyone is running around like chickens with their head cut off.
"DiD yOu jUsT SaY SEMEN rEteNtiOn"
Yes, it's not as if everyone acts like children around this subject and can talk perfectly fine about it.
🔥
Mayim - you are being uptight and weird on toys... b/c at 49 i all of a sudden couldn't have an orgasm (when i could for 33 yrs) until i bought toys.
Yeah this would be great ive i had a partner 😢😅
One of the most un-sexy conversations I’ve ever heard about sex. 😢
I tried to be patient with the woman but I give up. 😢 🤦♀️
Come on! This is a serious conversation. Giggling like you are 12 is not healthy. What is it about us women to deny ourselves because of some preconceived notions? Whatever feels good with your partner or with yourself is fine.
She is not talking about physical sexual connection! She is Asking the same question in different ways and it is not getting answered…
Emotional connection… Depleting Oxytocin !
YES
Friend, there isn’t sex education in America. Quit listening to people outside of education for info about the field.
There's plenty of information provided between the patient and the doctor. They don't perform the surgeries you're thinking of on children.
Invite Shelly he has all the answers 😂.
step 1: get a partner (hehehe)
my mom never had an orgasm as she was married for 24 years. Sad for her and my dad. Like what the fuck
Not as unusual as you might think.
😮👍🏻💯
Amy
Are these two a couple?
😮
Watching this now there’s ads for dating sites showing up 😭😭😭 Im a happily married woman!! 🤣🤣
Chappell Roan was right
Mayim gets a little uncomfortable when talking about vibrators, 🙃
Okay but the clitoris is not just on the outside? Why would she not differentiate that
The thumbnail threw me off lol
Boxers do not have sex while training I’ve heard
yeah this doesn't even interest me.............all done with that..
I love how the first 20 minutes is just talking about men 😅
I thought men loved being the center of attention. 😂
Omg typical interuptions wish the dude would shut up
Trump 2024, baby! USA! USA! USA!
Dr. Mayik is to long! Break it up.
